    1. Defend on point: practice standing an a corner and defend
    2. Body conditioning
    3. Don't let pressure fighter bully you
    4. Make him respect you: hit them hard
    5. Test at the beginning of the fight: how much power his strikes have
    6. Take angles, be mobile
    7. It's all mental, they wanna make it quick and tired fast

      I agree but one problem is that they can catch the front kick even it comes behind the jab. May be I was making it too obvious. Or may be its a sparring thing where they don’t have to worry about the speed or the pain.

    Gabriel has shown me that a lot of fighters are really classy.
    I know that it helps raise money for the fighters if they are obnoxious, but Gabriel approaches this like an elite athlete instead of like a macho man.

      I can do that. It's entirely different fighting this style and honestly a bit more of a struggle for me. But I'll get it done.

      Yeah, I find defensive/counter heavy fighters a lot harder to deal with than offensive ones, but its probably because I dont know how to exploit their style

    Conditioning your body to take hard bodyshots and not getting intimidated by constant in your face pressure are both highly commendable physical and mental skills.

    I applied some of your tips today and you were right, I kept being elusive in the first rounds and pivoting to find different angles to come out from his pressure, in the last rounds he was with no energies and I could throw my combos on him without being chased anymore

    The hardest thing to get used to against a pressure fighter is getting used to someone staying so close to you all the time..
    I just try stay relax and counter or let them in and fight them on the inside, fuck taking steps back, take the fight to them, but stay calm and pick your hard shots

    Your shell is amazing..some say it doesn't work in mma with small gloves. yoel Romero does it but he is one of few. Justin gaethje too. What you said about hitting hard..those two are hitters

    He was a pretty strong fighter with a compact frame and pressure style. You managed to use your length not just for distance but in close and around the outside with good skill. Well fought. Liam Harrison is rough and tough... but you got to be as tough but also much smarter and well composed.... easier said than done.

    I sparred a pressure fighter and found myself in the corner & on the ropes. I was happy to experience that for the first time. Afterwards i started thinking what can i do differently next time & then i find this video. Thank you! Ive been binge watching your videos for awhile now but just saw this one.     thanks for the great tip sir.. the front kick does help intercept momentum.. its like reseting the combo being thrown back at one, then the opponent is forced to either restart the attack, re evaluate if it works, or attack recklessly... either way, it gives you some room to win

    I sparred a pressure fighter who didn’t get tired at all and we were 3 rounds in! Muay Thai really helped with my will power and not giving into this mans intimidation. I was so fucking sore all over my body and bruised up the next day, like sore to the point where I felt like shit and sick. AND THAT SUCKED CUZ IT WAS CONDITIONING DAY AND HAD TO DO 1000 OF EVERYTHING!

    Usually, if you have a heavy handed pressure puncher, you counter with frequent body kicks as part of the game plan so that he's having to guard there and think twice about his punching offense.

    Cool video! Hey have you ever fight a guy with similar skills to raymond daniels or wonderboy, I know there are some guys that transition from full contact(american kickboxing) to normal kickboxing like jamie bates.

    Beautiful advice! I’ve always prioritized defense. Well, mostly for my son. For myself, I started working almost 100% offense until I realized how important training defense is. I gotta play catch up now because I didn’t train my stationary/inside defense very much. However I did benefit from having to make up for it by bettering my footwork.

    with awareness and composure... is there not a split second where you can see the "rush" coming and throw something before it? I feel like Gervonta is really good at this... Even with your front kick it becomes a timing thing too no?
