Experienced and was diagnosed with Central sleep apnea and low oxygen values at 80-85% at night, shortly after starting with 75mg Plavix. Memory loss occured and I was dizzy and tired all day. Fell asleep everywhere all in a sudden. Also at meetings and often behind the wheel….driving. When I finally got out of the drug, Central Sleep Apnea dissappeared after only 5 days. Took my brain, concentration and memory a couple of years to regain.
Hi, I am a pharmacist intern in Jamaica. I found your channel recently and I am happy for the content it is helping me to study for my licensing exam. Thanks alot :)
Jamaica in the house. I'm glad you are finding the videos useful. Best of luck to you. Let me know when you get that pharmacist license so I can gate crush the party. 😄
I was on generic plavix for a year with aspirin after a stent. I developed pounding in my right ear so bad. The last couple months were the worst with it being constant. Within 2 weeks of going off generic plavix the pounding went away. Thank God. My horrible heartburn went away ,too. Just on a baby aspirin now.
I'm current studying pharmacology for my pharmacy diploma and your videos are definitely of great support, so please continue putting them up. As for myself, I'd really like to know more about the enzyme interactions, i.e. what kind of enzyme is converting clopidogrel into its active form? CYP3A4 or CYP2D6 or another? Also, if you could show the chemical structure of the drug at the beginning of each video, it would help a lot. Anyways, thank for your videos. They are great and currently the only ones on RUclips covering that topic. Thanks a lot!
Hi @Galli Leo, I'm glad you are benefiting from the videos. The truth though is that I try to keep the information as simple as possible for the regular patient to understand. I'm definitely willing to add some content that will be beneficial to folks like you. While I cherish you as a subscriber, I'm going to be honest and let you know that there are channels that are more suited to students like you who want more in-depth information on the medications. It will be selfish on my part not to point you in the right direction. Just do a quick search for pharmacology on RUclips & filter your search results by channel only. With respect to the enzyme question, there are actually more than one enzyme. Check the schematic diagram here. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3086847/#:~:text=%5B1%5D%20showed%20that%20clopidogrel%20was,CYP3A4%20%5B6%2C7%5D. Thanks a lot for your feedback
I am in the hospital right now. For nose bleeding. Every day for 8 to 12 hours. Blood not clotting. They're taking me off Plavix. Been on for 7 years now for a stent. Any side effects.? I am taken aspirin, metoprolol, amlodipine, i am taking with it.thay are keeping me on that.
i have a question im coming off effexor and i see one of the interactions includes Tryptophan and its at the top of interactions...now does that mean u have to reduce foods that have that amino acid
Vitamin E dosage is a little tricky as it depends on what type of Vitamin E you are actually getting. The dose for the synthetic Vitamin E is typically capped at 1,000 mg to reduce the risk of bleeding for someone on a blood thinner or anticoagulant. I’d suggest you check out this article and scroll down to the “Can Vitamin E be harmful” section. It is quite insightful and tells you the different types of Vitamin E and recommended doses etc. ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/VitaminE-Consumer/ A multivitamin containing 24mg sounds reasonable but I’ll highly recommend checking with your doctor as your risk factors for bleeding may be different. All the best.

Wow! Its amazing how we all respond to different medications. I'm glad you and your doctors were able to figure it out. All the best.
Drs. didn't have anything to do with it.

What about side effects of wheezing, itching, and dry eyes. Failed to mention I'm an asthmatic. Dr told me to stay on it, and take benedryl with it.
Can Omega 3 fish oil supplement (the capsules) be taken with Clopidogrel ??
Dear Doctor will taking K2 supplement interact with Clopidogrel
I was given danzedin and clopidogrel for my tenosynovitis and chondromalacia patella.
