Thanks for the info on Diamond K Brass. I just purchased 500 rounds of 9mm off Gunbroker, cleaned and primed for $i25.00 +shipping. So I will be looking into Diamond K when ordering some .40 cal. Thanks Again so much. Going forward, you will be saving me money. Proud to give you a " Thumbs Up"
I generally get my brass as range pick up as well as i once bought a 5 gallon bucket of misc range brass. All my other once fired brass is from Diamond K Brass. I was blown away with the speed of shipping and the quality of the packing. You are always given more than your ordered too. I am so stocked with brass at the moment that i do not need to buy more, but if i did i would definitely give them a look first.
Also, almost all of my brass, I buy from scrapyards by the pound, usually btween $1.20-$1.50/lb . Ends up being 10% of the cost of once-fired retailer cost, and I can trade calibers I don't use with friends.
Hello, can you buy any brass to reload with hodgdon powder? im new to reloading .I understand the process of loading. I was curious about that question .
Big surprise I tend to be a "brass magnet" at my local range and scrounge anything I can pick up with much of this being 9mm, .380 Auto, 40 S&W, and .223 with lesser amounts of .38 Special and 45 ACP (of course, there is always a mixed bag assortment of other pistol and rifle cartridges). My interest in .223 brass is conversion to 7.62x25mm Tokarev. I've likewise converted some .308 Winchester to 45 ACP shotshell. Most of my bulk brass purchases have been from Everglades Ammo with a recent purchase from Diamond K (I was really impressed with their quick processing and shipment). Over the past several years, I've also ordered several 40 pound boxes of mixed (and very dirty!!!) unsorted range brass from Everglades Ammo (with the current 2020 COVID and socially unsettled situations before us these are presently unavailable) simply for the amusement of sorting, processing (cleaning), and adding these to my diverse brass inventory. At this point in time, I've "ratholed" several cubic feet of cases.
I wouldn’t waste money on 9mm since it’s so plentiful where I live. I do purchase .45 Colt, .357 and maybe a few others. If I needed to, I would buy it like you do.
Monmouth Reloaders is where I get my once fired brass from. I ordered 6000 9mm and 6000 45acp, They process and ship fast. Ended up with more than the 6000 after sorting by headstamp and inspecting for culls. Prices are usually good but even better when they have a sale.
I need 45 colt...looks like the only thing available right now is new brass...prices are pretty consistent at around $105 per 500. Guess cowboy action season is starting up! Keep the videos coming! Very useful to me so far as I’m just starting out with a Dillon XL650.
Etsy.com it’s like the eBay of the gun world. You can get 1000rnds or clean fully processed (not only polished and clean but sized and decapped) 1000 count for $40 1000rnd dirty anything for around $20-30. I normally try to go through blue ridge on there but there are many good places. Every-once in a while there is no shame in buying Starline brass new. Starline is an investment that pays back over time due to how many times you can reload it.
Is Starline really that good ? I ONLY Use range brass, that I pick up. For all my calibers. And so far, so good. But I’ve heard good things about starline. Mmmmmmm🤔
Long story, bolt action-Lapua, (308, 223, 6.5 creedmore). Semi auto-LC nato, (7.62x51, 556), pistol-Starline, (380, 9mm, 45acp, 38/357, 38super). All virgin brass, hopefully made on the same day and the same (designated) machine. Mixed brass gets you mixed results. Once fired? Prove it. Used to buy my brothers once fired 556 until I found a piece full of god knows what in the bag of 500. Windy ain't I?
Most of my brass I pick up at the range. About half of it is mine, the rest is left on the range. I've given calibers I don't reload to family that reload and I've given some to a crafter who uses spent brass. By the time I give it to them it is deprimed and cleand.
I used to order from DiamondK, until I found out that they are charging just about what brand new Starline costs for their once-fired. Example: last week they were charging $.45 a piece for 44 rem mag. Starline website: $.41 a piece for new Starline 44 Rem Mag. No thanks, DiamondK lost my business. Edit: brain fart. 444 Marlin, not 44 Rem mag. Apologies.
I hand load for bolt action hunting rifles up here in Alaska. I buy my brass as virgin brass in lots of 100. Diamond K does not carry the calibers I hand load for .270 Win, .300 H & H Magnum, .375 H & H Magnum.
My range has 5 gallon buckets at there rifle and pistol ranges. I just show up at the end of the day and empty it all into my 5 gallon bucket. Never a shortage of brass for me.
Ive tried ETSY.com and got 500 pieces of 223 for $33.00. Out of the 500 only half was usable as the primer pockets were different sizes. I had to go through all the brass after I decapped it and measure each primer pocket. Real pain in the ass. I don’t think that I will use them again.
Graf and sons.. Right now 1000 shells and bullets 135gr 139.93... 9.99 shipping on ANY order.... $12.50 hazardous materials fee applies. For powder and primers... Hope ths helps some reloaders out there...

Neil Harris I'm very pleased with DiamondK as well. The 5gal bucket is not something I've come across as of yet.
I've been reloading for 48 years and pistol, never have had a problem. Rifle is different. The only time I use new brass for pistol for ccw.

I get once fired Federal HST nickel plated that’s not range brass but used for making things. I’m not telling from where though.

I'm sure theres some but no idea on how many...
Elite reloading supply 3k rounds for $81.95
I'll have to check them out!
So these have to be deprimed and primed again?
Yes this is once fired brass. It will need to be fully prepared before reloading.
I use a app called ammo seakor
DK is too expensive for range brass. NEW Starline Brass for .357 mag cost $33 less for 1000 rounds.
