lol you have got to be joking. FIVE HUNDRED AND TWENTY TWO QUID for a battery & motor cassette? £522.00 Love the channel but Boost are having a laugh. Most are £150 to £350.
Hear what you’re saying about not reviewing any other kits, but would be interested for you to compare this kit with the Swytch ones. Front hub motor vs rear with Boost, also uses cadence sensor.
Yeah i noticed that on range , i suppose range depends on how hard you push it and small hills and so on, so hard to say what the range is .. would of been nice to have an estimate though ..
There are so many dodgy e bikes out there. I live close to a 161K rail trail. A walking and cycling trail on the old railway. It is mega popular with e bikers. Accommodation along the route has started catering for charging the bikes. Big problem. Fires. The charging stations are now well away from the accomodation for this reason. Good to see a British company making a more affordable option. With built in safety systems. And getting you to do a review with an electrical background. Plus extensive knowledge of e bikes certainly can't hurt. I hope this company goes from strength to strength. Because I don't think e bikes are going anywhere for the foreseeable future. Their popularity continues to grow.
The problem is the rest of the bike has to have components up to the standard of the stresses of a ebike. Cant stick this on an Apollo and expect durability or longevity. Just trade up and buy an ebike or keep the pedal bike for when your ebike catches fire.

Yeah totally agree on this. Amazed when people are saying you can get a decent e-bike for less than this kit… but there’s no concept of componentry , serviceability, longevity, etc. I’m really intrigued by the Boost… I have a reasonable pedal bike, and there’s plenty of decent brands releasing e-bikes with very similar kit. As they’re mostly rear hub motors for weight, it seems like the drive train components used are the standard SRAM or Shimano versions, compared to the 3-bike specific stuff that might be on a heavier weight crank motored full susser.
Good video but there was a lot you didn't touch on .. Range estimate/battery life span and so on .. also when i started watching i thought you was gonna show us all how to fit it but all we got was pointy pointy now lets ride ..
Good review, but the full kit is £709 with the odometer, I can buy a pretty good E bike for that, without having to build anything, and get a full warranty, if shop bought.
If you dont have 2k to drop ok an expensive ebike, then go for an eskute m100, theyre cheaper than these lits and offer more range and features. These kiys are still far too expensive to be viable when there are good splid ebikes available for less still

Hmmm I dunno 🤔 I've got a 600€ TREK Hybrid. I don't think I could justify another 600€ just to have a DIY e bike. I'd rather sell my TREK and get a decent priced e bike... Am just not sold, I think it's the price!? Now 300€ ANNNND BOOM. Not bad price, sounds safe and my e bike would still be a NICE price. Happy Days.
Expensive with a tiny battery and a 250w motor, where I live it won't last long with all the hills if it could get up them. I think I will pass on this my 2000w hub motor controller and 20a 72v battery was only £800.

That's because this is following British and European safety standards. Plus it comes with a warranty. It's tied to a supplier chain.

hi great video. Which would you recommend out of the 2, The boost e-kit or the new lightweight Swytch max for my mountain bike? Thanks
Love it!
Great value, simple to use, good for the environment and supports a British business!
Wins across the board!
A light battery, is a tiny battery.
Also which part of the circuit did impress your friend?
The electronics, very neat and built to a high spec
