- We Had SERIOUS PROBLEMS in Shenzhen, China - After a long day out exploring the bustling streets of Shenzhen in the south of China we headed over to Wanda Mall to see the world's longest indoor escalator.
This mall feels like being in the future with it's futuristic theme and quirky features. We got so carried away enjoying ourselves here that we almost had serious problems finding dinner (lol).

I'm from Hong Kong. Last month I decided to spend three days with my kids in Shenzhen. One day we went to the 'Party Day' in the Wanda Plaza. It's actually a 100,000-square-foot indoor playground. We played numerous games there till almost 10 pm, and then we went to Haidilao 海底捞 nearby for a late dinner. We had a really really great time!

I have a suggestion for you: ask a friend to write a note in Chinese, firstly list your food taboos and preferences, and secondly ask the restaurant waiter to recommend one or two of their specialties. This will help you choose a local restaurant more easily without making mistakes.

Shenzhen has many beautiful beaches, especially in the east, like xichong, jiaochangwei, yangmeikeng, the scenery is magnificent , it’s worth visiting

Just checked the weather, currently southern China is raining every day (Monsoon), while northern China is in extreme heat like 36-37 ish in the coming days, and it’s not even July yet.
Partie en juillet à Schenzen, ce fut un véritable enfer pour franchir tous les points de police à la frontière (en train). J’ai perdu une matinée dans la gare , pour finalement avoir à renouveler mon billet avant de rentrer dans le train puisque le temps de police au frontière m’avait fait perdre énormément de temps. Et ce n’était pas un temps de forte affluence.

The only downside of this mall is that it takes over 20 minutes walk from the Metro to reach it.

Party day is A game and activities center，you can do bowling, ice-skating, mini car racing, etc. However, don't enter in chinese holiday period as there are too many people and you have to wait for long time for each activities.
This mall is located in LongGang district where I lived for some years. There is an artist street in LongGang where painting artists display and sell their works. Recommended for a few hours tour there and buy some paintings at very cheap price.

Dear taz and libby, You have already been to the north, South, northwest, southwest and southeast of China, except that you have not been to my hometown - Northeast China, the Chinese pronunciation of Northeast China is "dongbei". I would like to recommend my hometown to you and hope that you will consider visiting here in the future.
Compared with the more developed parts of China, the northeast lags far behind in development. but on the plus side, prices are low and the population density is relatively low, with less overcrowding than in other parts of China. The four largest cities in Northeast China are Shenyang, Harbin, Changchun and Dalian, all of which are well worth visiting.
Many of the most popular tourist attractions in Northeast China are in winter, and Harbin's Ice and Snow World is the most famous. I know you don't like cold conditions, and maybe winter snow Tours don't appeal to you. In fact, summer to the northeast is also a good choice, in July and August many places in China are prone to extreme high temperatures, not suitable for outdoor activities, in this period of China's temperature is more pleasant places in the Northeast and Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau,and Yantai and Weihai on the Jiaodong Peninsula.

Yes, the restaurants in the mall close early. The restaurants in the downtown area are often open till midnight or even later.

We had a short holiday in Shanghai last week. 2nd visit within 6months. Just like you both, we forgot to look for dinner till we realized the eateries started to close. We decided to book DiDi and head back to hotel for food delivery instead. 😅 U can try food delivery to yr room one of these days. Good experience.

You were in a big shopping center, and many of the building will close at 9:00pm to 10:00pm, depending on which city you are in, and close earlier especially on non-weekend night. However, if you go out of the shipping center building, it is where the night life begins. Many street foods start at 9:00pm and open until 2:00am. I guess the shopping center will open much later during weenend.
highly recommend you guys to experience 2 things which are important in daily life：1.Online shopping； 2. Food delivery（takeaway）. At least for me，I can't survive without these 2 things😂
online shopping is not bad outside China. delivery, actually not just food, anything like grocery, medicine etc is the best in the world

Highly recommend Shenzhen Bay(Shenzhen Talent Park) which located Houhai metro station G entrance,it's very signatured. In China you can try the auto-dirved car like Huawei,you will feel amazing😁
海底捞 Hai di lao ususally opens for 24 hrs. It's a hotpot restaurant often in big malls, with red decorations, also in your video, next to the big red ladder, and it's well-known for its great services and fresh food. Recommend you to try it next time!
This mall is far from the busy city center and there are fewer customers, so the stores close earlier than those in downtown.

There is Haidilao in the mall. Usually, Haidilao is open until 4 or 5 in the morning or all night. Haidilao is a very international hot pot restaurant, famous for its excellent service. You must go to Haidilao on your birthday and tell the waiter that it is your birthday. You should be in Southeast Asia now, you can also find Haidilao there, but Haidilao in China is cheaper.
China never stops to amaze! Good that they now have visa free policies for foreigners to visit & see all these interesting places!
A lot of Hong Kongers love to come to Shenzhen & have fun in this mall over the weekends. It is now a in thing for Hong Kongers to come to Shenzhen.

Wow !, Shenzhen is among one of the largest city in Guangdong Province (over 17 millions inhabitants) .... where are these Chinese Shoppers ... The HUGE GIGANTIC Mall looked almost deserted ... i thought Hong Kongers have been flooding in to Shenzhen .. multiple hundreds of thousands, to come to Shenzhen to shop to dine etc?? Even U.S. New York City pop. most populated city of the U.S.A. has just over 8.0 million and the NY Malls are crowded. Any idea ??
In China, you should use the Chinese way.If your phone out of battery, you can search power bank. When it rains, you can search for an umbrella.when you're hungry, you can search restaurants，when you need a room，you can search hotel，tickets，taxi，map，food delivery ，medicine，e-bike，you can search everything you need in wechat or alipay.
Shenzhen has the best shopping centers and other infrastructure. Have fun, my friend.
