The K4 (AKA the Pennsylvania Railroad K4 class) was the premiere passenger locomotive for the PRR for the latter half of its life before it ended in the late 1960s. They were built between 1914 and 1928 with a total of 425 engines being built. At one point, at least a single individual was given a streamlined shrouding to run the Pennsy’s special train, called “The Broadway Limited”. Only two K4’s survive today (No. 1361 and 3750 respectively) of which 1361 is currently undergoing restoration to running condition in Altoona, Pennsylvania, whereas 3750 is part of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania located near the famous Strasburg Railroad in the same state.
Big American Steam locomotives are just incredible machines! My favourite of the lot here is NYC Dreyfuss Hudson. The second closest is the Big Boy of course.

Yep, and their actually more intertwined than you think. The first of the challengers would be the basis for the design of the big boys and new tech worked into the big boys would find it's way into the later versions of the challengers.
