The fact that Calus had the audacity to talk back to the witness
cuz calus is a chad
Calus speaks: Based Calus vs Virgin Witness.
Witness speaks: Alpha Witness vs Simp Calus.
bruh calus is so cute
What did he turn into? Or did the witness just grew bigger?
Until the witness pulls out the belt
Got to see the whole story without paying a dime. Thanks for the cutscene compilation.
I mean, u gotta be F***G insane if u think a 20 min "story" is worth $60 USD Lmao!
@@BenLA5 agreed. not to mention they will charge you 40 dollars more for the seasons that will not progress the story much at all until they give you another 60 dollar dlc just to repeat the process, and that's not even including the price of the dungeons that they stupidly decided to release separately.
@@BenLA5 you know there’s a reason why it’s cutscene only right? Like the cutscenes aren’t all there is to a story
@@jowest99 i mean if all you care about is the story then just watch these types of videos on youtube and you don’t have to pay any money, but most people buy the expansion for the grind and to try the new subclass/exotics/weapons in a bunch of activities. the story is just a nice plus on the side.
inflation is hitting us hard every dollar matters
Literally the best thing about this entire DLC is the colors the traveler emits on the inside.
The Traveller: Sponsored by Razer RGB keyboards.
He's not emitting no colors on the inside tho the witness opened some kind of portal in front of it you can clearly see it also it was mentioned in the game as well that he opened a portal so those colors are not from the traveler
@@SenSnpzit’s ok he’s coping
Similar colors and patterns we see in the Witch Queen palace in some of the doorways.
@@disrespank I noticed that too. There must be some sort of connection, definitely related to the Light as Savathun decorated her Throne World with the Light.
I really thought they were going to take Calus’ character in a different direction. When he started describing the Leviathan like part of his body, I thought the Witness was going to turn Calus into a giant living ship or war-machine of the Darkness…
Then he came out of his special pod with a purple bucket on his head…
The witness changed his personality he was way better on the leviathan his personality everything was better at the leviathan
@@DEWHITEOSCAR how was Calus different on the Leviathan? I thought the only real changes were to his armor and the fact he was given powers
Rhulk will always be the best disciple. Calus is still fun though. It's also nice to see our guardian getting more voicelines.
Yeah but the following seasons are... speechless, lol.
Time to see nezarec in action in the raid
Yeah, I mean Calus was just bait, I don't think the Witness ever meant for him to be an actual disciple. Just brought him in to be a tool and then die.
Speaking of Calus, do we have any idea who the female cabal wearing the black armour is at 11:59?
She looks badass, maybe Caitls mother?
Nezarec gonna be the best
RIP Lance. You were one of the best voice actors out there. You were able to get me on my nails, anxious to see how our story continues.❤
Don't ask a man his wage
Don't ask a woman her age

Not everything needs to be explained, at least not immediately. People like you would've been insufferable when the first SW movie was released "omg how did he become the emperor" "omg what the force is exactly" "omg what were the clone wars"
And definitely don’t ask Nimbus why he couldn’t have grabbed the ghost any time before it reached the veil instead of waiting for us to shoot it
@@xthekingsguard1229who cares tho?
I can't get over how *offended* The Witness looks at Calus' chalice at 8:48, that musical sting, the slight frown and physical recoil on an otherwise emotionless entity is so fucking funny to me
Little reminder savathüns ghost is still out there
And will return in a few seasonal Content.
I don’t think that actually matters

Reviving Sav would be VERY dangerous. She literally can use us anytime if we will revive her
the witness manipulated us the whole time, he wanted us to see him talking to calus. Calus was in on it, that’s why during the scene where our guardian is watching calus & the witness talk about “progress”, the ghosts lights are flickering w the witnesses voice. Calus was playing 4d chess w us, we thought we were seeing through the witnesses eyes, calus was talking to our ghost. He wanted us to find calus, because a ghost was the key to opening the traveler via the veil. We literally took the bait, walked right into failure. Everything we did, keeping ourselves alive, winning, killing everyone, keeping the ghost safe, was all the witnesses plan for the ghost to get right to the veil. In short form our guardian is an idiot when he knows the witness can control the ghost & we went right up to the veil😂😂
Nah, we could've easily grabbed with newly hyped up ability grapple or cloudstrider fly and go get it but no. Bungo writing is garbage
@@ultragoldcoin8780 exactly, just gotta YEEHAW whip out that green lasso
It's just bad writing.
Dear goodness........we went from Witch Queen to this writing of a mess? Really?! Witch Queen is so good and we got this writing in Lightfall?!
Though I agree I really really disagree with the part that Calus was in on it. The Witness hated Calus and most likely wanted to dispose of him as soon as it saw that Calus wants nothing but to just do nothing and drink all the time.
Okay good to know that the cutscene at 17:27 happens to everyone👀
how did i not notice that when watching XD
The part where The Witness sliced up the ships coming towards him was the most brutal thing i've ever seen in Destiny simply because it showed the Ghost and Guardian coming apart.
Man emanates Thanos on a new level, already killing people.
It's even more sad cause that was Reed7 from the trials equipment lore
Oh then those recent trailers are FAR more brutal.
Please continue keeping people like me in the loop and others like me who don't have the time to play this but still wanna know where the story goes.
Will do 👍
The story went nowhere don’t worry.
Its only like a 5 or 6 hour campaign. You don't have even that? That sucks...

For the most part, the cutscenes in this were really the highlight of the campaign. However, I think they missed an opportunity with the drop pods into Neomunda. That should have been a cutscene (or better yet a playable section) rather than a jump cut. They could have shown Neomunda actually having defenses (instead of two guys with glorified surf boards . . .) in an epic set piece of Calus' forces forging their beach head. Imagine burning ships and orbital bombardments with the dark shape of Calus' flagship plowing through all the incoming fire.
The follow-up cut scene was also one of the lower points for me; I don't have any real issue with the Cloudstrider design and aesthetic, but the way they fight is silly. If you are entrusting your entire city to only two mobile defense units, they need to be massively overpowered. I wanted to see them coming in wielding Siva weapons and melting hoards of enemies, not fist fighting with a small squad of Shadow Legion. This city saw the Fall and had access to ALL the Golden Age tech short of Rasputin from what we can tell, I was expecting a more impressive showing . . . The Tormentor shown here was also really underwhelming. In game they really have a threatening presence to them (and at least one really epic entrance). This one looked slow, kind of plasticky, and got take out by an exploding barrel. Just sad . . .
Also, while the graphics were nice, The Veil connecting with the Traveler should have opened the triangle gate, not the Witness. At least then the Magoffin would have actually done something tangible . . .
Final thought: The opening cinematic was definitely the high point, but while it made the Witness very awesome looking, I think maybe it made him come off as a bit too powerful. We know that the last time the Witness and Traveler faced off the latter was able to force a draw at least, and the events of Exodus Green that this was a real battle that spanned the solar system. To see it reduced to a 5 minute light show is kind of a let down in retrospect. At the very least I think it would have made more sense and been almost as epic for the Witness to have been throwing Pyramids in from of the beam to work itself closer to the Traveler, or at least some sort of strategy beyond "well I can just waltz up and ignore the Traveler's power, I just didn't fell like it last time :P"
_However, I think they missed an opportunity with the drop pods into Neomunda._
this is even stupider when you remember Bungie also made _Halo 3: ODST_ (which, by the way, is a 2009 game). Prepare to Drop was so much better.
R.I.P. to the original Destiny fireteam. You will be missed 😞
I knew the ending would go that way. I always say our ghost will be our downfall because of how easy it is for the witnesses to control our ghost
It was mentioned before from all the enemies, they don't fear us they fear the power of light that keep us alive like zombies, a guardian is nothing without a ghost
He been doing it since Shadow Keep.
8:45 was wild to me. The Witness saw the chalice and looked mildy frustrated.
Yeah cuz he was like "bro i gave you all this if you don't do this ur done"
The first quarter of the story was great, amazing, and all that. I was smiling like a kid in a Candy store the whole time. Then actually getting to Neptune and the rest of the story was just.. mid. It really was a cheesy 80’s action movie.
They even put a montage of the Guardian learning how to use Strand 🤦♂️ It doesn't get more cheesy than that
"Then actually getting to Neptune and the rest of the story was just.. mid." That was literawlly the whole game, you're at neptune in like 30seconds of the game starting.
@@Neoyugi the whole story is like 30 seconds
Yup
@@bluemanjr1152 While I wasn't a biggest fan of the story I thought the montage, even though cheesy was kinda cool lol. Seeing us die when we practiced Strand was funny.
When the witness gets pissed at Calus this simply just shows the term "WHAT IS A KING COMPARED TO A GOD" moment
Honestly felt like a self indulgent dlc, like they just wanted to show off Neptune and use Calus more. Totally new location that was unknown until now with a power in the veil that was never relevant until now. No real explanation as to why strand is suddenly here either. The whole dlc felt pointless, honestly.
Just snip the first cutscene and last one together with no veil and let the story be following the witness wherever he went. Just say strands source is whatevers on the other side.
I think in the first cutscene when the witness interacts with the traveler shortly before sending Calus, it thought it could just open the portal then and there, as it seems to try and then realize after its vision it can't without the veil or at least there was something missing.
Excited to see what happens next after the Witness literally illuminatied the Traveller
One big Dorito on the white ball
Have to wait till next year and another 100 dollar pre-order lol.
Genuinely the most underwhelming ending in destiny

@Lost noodle yea and? That’s totally different from the lightfall ending we know nothing and nothing has really changed other than the traveller has a triangle on it I’d say lightfall campaign is better than forsaken Ik all the fanboys are gonna disagree but forsaken did one thing better it made us feel like we lost kinda like it was disappointing to find out everything happened bc of a meatball and revenge was robbed from us but even when we fight the big evil of the story we lose like actually
@Lost noodle excuse my French no it did not
idk if anyone remembers Nezarec speaking, but I have a theory:
The Witness entered the Traveler so that he can manipulate it, he plans on taking as much control over the Traveler as he can. In doing so, he’s going to be able to use the Travelers abilities.
With that being said, The Witness will bring Nezerac to life. Because the Witness had the ability to slice guardians in half (given intro cutscene) so he definitely can have the inverse ability of reconnecting Nezarec. Then with the Travelers light, resurrect Nezarec
Cont.
Nezarec then very well could be the final raid boss in “Roots of Nightmares” given it was his ship in which we first entered in Shadowkeep (the nightmare dlc)
I’d also like to add, the whole point of the raid will be to understand the true intentions of the Witness, as well as learning more about the Traveler and it’s capabilities
@@Brutal4152he is, he has many voicelines post campaign
no, nezeracs just stuc in the vex network looking for a way out
Actually the witness seems to care for the traveler but distain the light most likely due to having pure light the witness feels like the traveler is corrupted therefor by giving it some darkness and being another mind to help regulate and control the power it means nothing that goes against the final shape like creating weak life or such things will happen and it can “protect the traveler” most likely the witness is being tricked would not be surprised that or it is correct and the light is just as controlling as the darkness can be which is most likely

Calus got that Tusk Act 4 fit.
the witness is an amazing antagonist cause the traveler never says anything about its intentions so having its antithesis here speak plainly and boldly about its philosophy makes this battle more conceptual. Over all it's obviously two primordial beings who are essentially the polar opposite manifestations of each other. Its clear that the witness wants finality and is very bitter about the cycles and processes of existence and the immense pain and suffering that emerges from it. The traveler must love the processes regardless of the pain and suffering that manifesting life brings and has been doing that its entire existence that's why civilizations worship it as a truly benevolent cosmic entity. I suppose the only real battle or question is to be or not to be. After all, nothing has always been bitter about something as they say nature abhors a vacuum.
“The uglier there are the harder they fall “ and goes for the fist bump gets me 😂
13:00 I am so sad for Osiris, that Sagira is gone
Whole DLC deserved moments like 3:40. Not what the players got. A DLC called Lightfall should have been filled with urgency and immediate consequence. Not a macguffin sidequest with Cabal on Neptune. It should have been on Earth, personal, close to home. The Pyramids are at our doorstep and we go to Neptune? And we learn of a city that was completely unknown? That's too much at once and also extremely contrived. And the consequences of whatever the hell happened with whatever the Veil is at the end will not be known for a year. This writing team is getting worse and worse as years go on. Foresaken was and will always be the peak of Destiny.
Completely agree man
Couldn't have said it better. The writing is on par with the questionable, faux philosophical with a heavy portion of humor, narratives that you would see in several of the D.C. movies and some of the newer Marvel movies. I regret even missing sleep to finish the campaign.
The writing and dialogue is on the same tier as the modern dogshit marvel shows
According to a couple leaks for final shape (that the ending cutscene almost verifies), it’s only going to get worse from here.
@@Sypitz lmao, what do the leaks say? Or what’s the link to them?
Man im quite disappointed that it took us so long to fight calus just for him to die to 1 dude. I was hoping he would be in a raid to show how strong he had become or just something. But this is just sad
Unfortunately bosses in the marketing material are stuck there to die in the campaign, mostly because Bungie doesn't want to lock the advertised big bad behind a raid that only a small portion of the playerbase will do. It sucks for sure, but the general audience needs to be satsified with getting the kill.
@@Killomainia The players are gonna be majorly disappointed with the final shape. The witness is a raid boss and a 12 man activity.

@Neaaon Also the fact that Calus had just recently became a disciple. So he hasn't fully mastered the new abilities he has. Unlike say Rhulk, the very first Disciple of The Witness.

It will never end if it makes money
good to see megaminds brother get a big roll
"woooo almost lost my cool there." - The Witness
Is anyone else still waiting for the "beginning of the end"
After this ended what was the end???? The witness barely does anything and when he does the story ends and again where is the fall of the light losing.... didn't lose our ghost, no one important interacted with the witness, no one huge died. The marketing made it seem like some kind of epic conclusion of a hopeless fight only for nothing to happen
Spent a whole year talking about this witness entity and he does absolutely nothing no fight, no interaction nothing
Never trust marketing. It’s designed to get you to buy a product, not tell you about it.
The Witness shouting at Calus caught me way off guard, but that immediately tells me something (aside from Calus being rather snippy and out of line).
It could be that The Final Shape holds something the Witness needs to transcend, in order to reach somewhere, or some*one*, or a collective of otherworldly entities (The Nine). I reckon it's almost possible that The Nine actually hold the biggest influence of Paracausality, or even well beyond that, and The Witness seeks that power to alter something as impossible as fate itself.
The Witness may have lost someone close to it. A counterpart that's been veiled in the fleet by a dark blanket.

Before Lightfall DLC: "The Witness is here to take the Traveler!"
Start of DLC: "The Witness is here to take the Traveler!"
End of DLC: "The Witness is here to take the Traveler!"
now pay £50
In that scene where the witness gets pissed at Calus, I think it’s supposed to show us why the witness loses his patience with him. He’s arrogant, lazy, and cares more for his own ego than his actual job. What’s more, he doesn’t actually listen to what the witness says. He attaches more meaning to certain words than others. The witness is saying that his doubt and fear is making him fail, but calus attaches failure with his performance. This is why Rhulk is the best disciple the witness had. It’s because Rhulk listened fully, not attaching meaning to one word, but to the whole sentence. That’s why Rhulk is so strong. He has no doubt or fears until he actually dies.
Rhulk did have a flaw though. He felt, as the First Disciple, he should have a say on who ascends to the position. He was very vocal about his disagreement over Savathun. Due to the Krill being tricked into service. Naturally The Witness punished Rhulk for this by making him be the one to train Savathun into becoming a disciple. Which of course was never going to happen. As Savathun had no intention of being one. And in time would side with The Traveler. This is why Rhulk and his Pyramid are in Savathuns Throne World.
So glad I did not pay for this.
Calus looks like he holding soda dispensers on his shoulders XD
This is the most amount of voice lines from our guardian from any campaign! holy shit
Kinda dissapointed. Still don't know anything about the veil and the characters didn't really do anything than just watch.......
I wish it was more like the red war where it really seemed like everyone on the tower was fighting for survival to save the last city and the traveler. In lightfall it seems like they just sit there and watch as if nothing is happening even though this is the apocalypse and the biggest threat humanity and the solar system has ever faced. Only thing I'm really looking forward to now is the raid. Very lackluster story.
I think it’s that way with Lightfall intentionally. I feel like they wanted us to feel helpless.
I really hope in the coming weeks, we get more incite on what the Witness is trying to do. and i hope we get some explanation of what exactly is so important about the traveler (besides the whole light stuff)
I'm convinced Bungie has been winging it from the start. Not even they know what's inside the Traveller. But they bought some time to figure shit out by being vague all the time
@@Brutal4152 it didn’t really make me feel helpless. Just disconnected from the main story. I don’t understand why the entire thing took place away from where the witness and traveler were. Even with some of the confusion of the campaign, I picked up on some new things... the Witness is afraid deep down. because it fears life because of its "suffering", so it wants to wipe out ALL life just to rid the universe of pain. But that's its weakness too, even if it thinks itself a god due to how it manipulates the Darkness, yet it underestimates us, given we had struggled BUT defeated one of its Disciples with Rhulk, and just like Savathun, Calus, and Rhulk, the Witness will be responsible for its own downfall. After all, there's a bigger picture the Witness doesn't see with the Traveler and us-- even for its manipulations, it just uses one facet of power, not a balance, which I see will be what helps us destroy it and allow life to choose its OWN path to its end, rather than to be forced to it at the hands of some freakjob who was hurt and just wants to make the universe suffer for it.

Did anyone else realize that the witness had actually planned for Calus’ failure and was riding on it. Considering that he always wanted the link but kept telling calus to destroy the veil.
I think what we saw through Ghost was a lie and not what was actually said. I don’t think Ghost can connect to The Witness on his own which means The Witness wanted us specifically to see it, maybe to so we acted reckless in an attempt to save the Veil quicker. Or both it wanted to trick us and lead Calus there (especially after he pissed it off) to be killed since I doubt the Veil could even be destroyed. Very fun to think about.

Good to know I didn't miss anything interesting.
This is off topic but what helmet is shown and where can I get it?
I wonder if the witness has a different more horrifying form. It seems to loom over Calus in the cutscene where he speaks back to them. But we do not get to see it.
We're probably gonna fight it at the end of The Final Shape.
