  • Hey everyone! I hope you enjoy this 6-inch mini chocolate cake recipe.
    I thought it would be fun to write a recipe specifically for a smaller chocolate cake version when you just want a cake for a few people or maybe you only have 6-inch cake pans and don't want to have to do recipe math. 😆
    Either way, this one is so cute and makes a great birthday cake for a very small group of people, or a nice treat for a few days for a couple. And if you're single, you just go ahead and eat the whole thing yourself like a rock star. 🌟
    If you want the printable recipe plus more details, make sure to go to the blog post link below. There will also be a button on the recipe card there to switch the measurements to metric if you need that.
    And as always, please remember I'm a real person and like to provide these videos for free to hopefully help others who also love to bake cakes. Please keep your comments polite. :)
    Much love,
    Kara Jane

    Baked this yesterday and paired with peanut butter buttercream. The cake was sooooo good, so rich and full of chocolate taste with the perfect density. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe with everyone ❤️

    Can this be baked in 6inch pan that’s 3inches tall instead of 2 separate plans or will it come out dry?

    • @IScreamforButtercream
      @IScreamforButtercream  4 месяца назад

      I haven’t tried it in that size pan. It might work just fine but there’ll be some batter left over though.

    I made this cake it’s very tasty but very dense even after putting milk in it

    • @IScreamforButtercream
      @IScreamforButtercream  Год назад

      Hi there. Not sure what happened but it shouldn’t be very dense. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Sometimes scratch cakes come out dense if the batter gets mixed too long or at too high of speed. But again, can’t be sure what exactly happened. I know that’s frustrating though. 😩

    I only have 1 6 inch pan what to do

    • @IScreamforButtercream
      @IScreamforButtercream  Месяц назад

      Bake half the batter in the 6-inch pan and cover and chill the other half while it bakes. Once it’s done baking, cool in the pan for about 10 minutes then flip the cake out onto a rack to cool. Clean the pan, then grease and flour it again and add the second half of batter and bake that. The second one might take a bit longer to bake since the batter will be cold. Don’t wait hours to bake the second batch though or it might not rise correctly due to the type of leavening ingredients in it. Try to bake it shortly after the first layer is baked.

    What type of flour? Cake flour or all purpose?

    • @IScreamforButtercream
      @IScreamforButtercream  Год назад +1

      It’s all purpose flour. There is a link in the description to the recipe post with the recipe card where I add more information than I can in videos.
