This is the same model I have… I think it’s the 2021 model. Definitely get the 2022 Nasci… I’ve heard they made some significant upgrades but being new I wouldn’t know what they are Lol. I would’ve gotten the 2022 Nasci had I known. Only difference I know of is the newest Nasci 2500 comes with that T-handle
Just came over from Sea ya dude. Awesome videos... Subscribed. On the other side of the hole, is a swash with a good cut by the mangoves.. caught some good snook , but be ready to lose some gear... oysters all over. Great job.. both of you !!!
I rlly enjoyed watching this video. A few questions though. What line and lider do u use, and what part of the bay are you in? I am going to buy the 5000 nasci and i’m wondering if you think a medium heavy rod would be sufficient for it.
I hear they are pretty good to eat, also in certain area they are closed but when they are open, you can keep them if they are in the slot of 18-27 inches
Thank you. Mostly bass and perch around me but I’m 20 minutes away from Rhode Island boat launches. Stripers are good eating, flounder too. Blue fish I gagged on, I buried it in my garden for fertilizer and it killed my plants! Lol but nothing like your catching.. I wish.
2500 is the largest reel I fish unless specifically targeting beach snook or tarpon. Otherwise I’m using a 1000 or even 500 size reel. Recommend more people try it for the fun of it!
I’ve watched a bunch of videos and this is the best Shimano Nasci 2500 fishing video. Honestly I have a similar sized combo with my Shimano Sellus 7.1 Med/Fast action rod. I’m thinking of upgrading to a Ugly Stik Elite Medium/Heavy which is more versatile for throwing Whopper Ploppers in the 90mm range. I’m literally learning everything about fishing from RUclips 🙄 still gotta learn to tie a decent knot using straight 8/lb monofilament… any knot recommendations for a med/fast 7.1 foot rod with this reel?
Most knots will work for what you are doing. I usually tie an improved clinch knot or a loop knot. Both have their purposes. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
I was thinking of getting either the Shimano 4000 Nasci or Miravel for my semi heavy largemouth and pike rod. So, fishing around weeds, but not super heavy cover. The Miravel looks interesting with that light weight, but would it be sturdy enough? Any recommendations?
@@artificialslinger9730 cool, thanks, usually all my reels are 10oz, so curious what one 2oz lighter is like. i throw a lot of 1oz metal around so hoping it feels good.
@@artificialslinger9730 also i have a similar setup... run 15lb braid to 30lb mono leader. caught a 25lb+ jack off the jetty on a 7' MH uglystik last month. good times.
I Have the nasci and the miravel they both get wind knot constantly never had reels do this before. Both on gloomis inshore e6x manual close the bail both are horrible with dropping coils of braid down the spool

@@JCFishin2021 I went with Shimano Sellus 7.1 Med/Fast spinning rod. Bought 2-whopper plopper’s (90mm and 60mm) and since I don’t have experience thing knots I’m going to run straight monofilament. The only question is what lb/test?? Also, definitely need help with knit suggestions… clinch knot maybe?
@@JCFishin2021 what rod were you using with the Nasci? I just got my Sellus 7.1 Med/Fast rod and it’s definitely a light setup. I could probably get away with fishing the Whopper 60mm but I should have gotten the Med/Heavy. Is the Ugly stick Elite Med/Heavy a decent rod for $60?
I used Shimano reels for 20 years and in the last 5 years I have noticed an appreciable drop in quality and durability. They seems to just wear out. I have not found this with Daiwa reels which seems to get even smoother with age.
I've had the opposite experience, bought a 3000 Daiwa bg used it a few times liked it alot and on a medium sized seat trout the reel handle stripped out the side of the reel mid fish and the reel was broken and unusable I was pissed my buddy loaned me his ci4 stradic loved it then I bought 4 of the new stradic Fls and my girl got me a van vanford and I couldn't be happy land big snook all day even on my 2500 size ,no issues at all and never fealt a reel quite as smooth as my shimanos
I have the last generation of that reel and love it. I was thinking about buying this new one as well. Great video man!
Ive used the older model too, definitely recommend the new one too! thanks for the support
@@JCFishin2021 thanks, I’ll have to start looking for places that have them in stock and pick one up.

How has that reel held up in the saltwater since this video 🤔
Wow just another banger video and never miss out a video!!! 💯💯💯
Appreciate it bro!
@@JCFishin2021 💯
I’m guessing the hook was weighted or no need for sinker of any sort because of the water calmness and depth

Learn the double uni knot first then learn the FG knot , the only two knots you need to know

Spiderwire 10lb

Nasci and spend the difference on baits
What size rod are you using? It looks like a ultra light rod. Ever fish looks fun.
Close, its just a "light" action 6'6" star rods seagis
Is this at low tide is fishing in canals at low tide good?
Yes, this was at low tide. Fishing can be good in canals during low tide as long as there deeper spots for fish to sit generally.
@@artificialslinger9730 thanks man I’m just having trouble finding the right canals and deep spots
what area in tampa???
Do you have extra reel..? Please give 1 master please

A little bit

You think 2500 is perfect for snook trout or maybe 3k 4k
It really depends on if theres any structure, sometimes a 2500 would be a little light (near mangroves and rocks)
