    Early bloomer is looking fabulous! Another pattern to add to my wish list…Love to watch what you are working on or find because searching Ravelry can be very overwhelming. Wish I had your resolve to NOT buy wool! It is my obsession and I have enough to last thru any apocalypse that’s for sure. I tell myself that it is actually cheaper than petrol!! My excuse when hubby wants to go anywhere is me saying “ oh it’s just too expensive let’s just stay home and I will knit” I am crafty in more than one way 😂

    Such a treat watching you. Love your light blue sweater, you need to wear that more often, it’s beautiful and it goes with your eyes. Love all your knits. I love red, so I can’t wait to see your poppy red summer sweater knit up. Sorry you were under the weather, glad you are on the mend. Happy Easter. My daughter is a French teacher but is now doing her masters doing her masters at Knox college, she will be an ordained Presbyterian minister. She’s 25 and she’s preaching on Good Friday, so going to that service for sure.

    I live the style of the Warterlily sweater and the colour is good. The Storm Sweater will be finished eventually and will be like a comfy sweater. The two tone knit is awesome so keep on knitting. The Cami in that colour will look great on you. The sweater is coming along. Yes what are you knitting next, let me look in the notes. The Italian Knitter has a knit that look elegant.
    Yes and I pulled down my colourwork cowl so I could the reverse of the ribbing. I was using odd balls of yarn from stash and did not like making joins and doing colourwork. I had a full ball of the primary colour and away I went. Take care Tash and rest. ❤😊

    Another great podcast, you suit everything you make. Glad you and your son are on the mend and hopefully the Easter holidays give you both a chance to fully recover. Great to see you have started on the other colour on your half and half wrap. I’m still slogging on with my Stockholm slipover and fancy trying to make skimmer socks but haven’t made socks before. I also want to make the step by step cardigan by Florence when the pattern is released. I have some Hobbi yarn called winter glow that looks very muted like the Nori yarn. My budget doesn’t stretch to the Nori and it also seems hard to get in that colour in uk. Thanks again and Happy Easter to you and yours x

    So happy you are feeling better. Also glad Zach's surgery went well and I hope he feels well soon too. I love your Waterlily top. I cannot imagine how huge your "vault" must be, considering all the lovely things you share with us. That's one of the wonderful things about knitwear though, it lasts and looks good forever. Right this minute I've got Jackie Rose's Soho Square scarf on, so I can relate to how satisfying a big garter stitch shawl can be, both to knit and to wear.

    Hi Tash! I just told Francesca 🤗 🧶💚 Love all your knits as always, sorry you are under the weather, so am I, weather is crazy and got a bad cold, also because of a lot of stress due to health issues in the family. 🙏 I was thinking about the leftover yarn from the half & half, you are going to have the same amount left from the pretty orangy red, so either you do something considering all three together, as you said a colorwork, or you could do something with the 2 colors from the half and half, like a mini half and half or something with that combo as a smaller colorwork project, if you do not like the three together. well I suppose you would have thought about this by yourself...😂 have a lovely Easter, I am deeply in need of renewal and rebirth 🙏💚🌷

    A lovely visit with you, Task - thanks. Have you ever talked about how you walk and knit at the same time? I have done stockinette in a dark cinema with DK or worsted and felt very happy with myself. But walking?? Do you stuff the yarn into a fanny pack? Can we see a demonstration? My other question - my perennial question listening to you: DO YOU SLEEP? How can you pack so much into a week?

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  7 месяцев назад

      Hi Ynnsie. I have to get one of my kids to come for a walk with me and get a bit of video of me while i knit and walk. I either put the yarn ball in my pocket if the pocket is big enough and the yarn ball is small enough. Or i use a project bag with a carabiner and attach it to the belt look of my shorts. I always choose a very small and simple project so there isnt a lot of weight on my wrists or much I need to look at.
      As for SLEEP - i LOVE my sleep. I usually get at least 7 hours a night but i try to get at least 8. I just knit while i do a lot of other stuff. ;)

    I had the exact same thoughts at first with the Peer Gynt. Not impressed, not going to buy that again. But I really loved the colour and wanted an Eva cardigan in that exact colour so I decided to knit it anyway. Well, it blocked beautifully. It is never going to turn into cashmere or superwash merino (which I actually really dislike, the superwash that is) but it does get softer with wash and wear and I very much enjoy wearing it. I always wear a t-shirt under a regular cardigan but at this point it would be soft enough for me to wear it with just a tank top. I am planning to kit the Storm next winter and it will definitely be in Peer Gynt.

      That's so interesting Ursula. I also love the Eva Cardigan in that colour and was thinking the same. Now maybe i could see it happening. Thank you so much for the info. That is really helpful. :)

    Why do you talk in inches? Are you not interested in speaking to Australians. This is why I find your podcast so good. There are not many, especially good Australians that have k sitting channels. CM please not inches.

      How very rude of you!

    • @mostlyknitting
      @mostlyknitting  7 месяцев назад +12

      Hi there. I appreciate your positive comments around the podcast.
      In relation to the units of measurement that I refer to - I speak using the units that I think in and use myself. For body measurements, I learned and became familiar with inches. So that is why I talk about body measurements in inches. For needle sizes, I use mm as that is what i learned in and that is what comes to mind when I am giving details about the needles i use.
      In the podcast, it would technically be possible for me to refer to every measurement I talk about in both inches and cm and every needle size in mm and US sizes and even Imperial sizes. However, this would involve a lot more work for me and possibly make the podcast more clunky, with me rattling off lots of different numbers.
      It is an easy conversion to make, either using a calculator or google. One inch is about 2.54cm. Or roughly - multiply by 10 and then divide by 4.
      I hear what you are asking for, but this is a conscious choice on my part to share the relevant details for a project in a format that comes easily to me. Then viewers, depending on their location, can make their own conversions if needed. Whether that is from inches to cm or from metric needle sizes to US needle sizes.

      Love your podcast! As for ripping back…..do it! It’s so enlightening, and instead of being a garment with an uncertain future, it becomes an exciting WIP again despite the huge effort of ripping, straightening and re-winding the wool. I just did it to a cardigan I made too long, had to rip back 2 full skeins but now it’s on its way forward to a perfect length. Happy knitting!
