[MW] RNE Radio Nacional - RDP Antena 1 ecstasy as 🇵🇹 wins penalties vs 🇸🇮, Jul 1 2024

Here's a Portuguese radio commentator losing it as Bernardo Silva shoots a 3-0 penalty to send Portugal off to Euro 2024 quarterfinal after tough 120-minute struggle with Slovenia - as heard on Spanish radio... in Poland 🙂
One of the most interesting caveats of big, international tournaments like this - actual games aside - is to hear true, uncopyable emotions of TV & radio commentators from countries most involved in the event - and it's always nice when a station from one country that covers it shows its audience how this moment looked like on another station from a different country.
That's how Antena 1's extremely excited commentary of Portugal's penalty shootout victory against Slovenia in Euro 2024 Round of 16 has made it to Radio Nacional de Espana. And propagation finally allowed me to hear RNE here in Poland on mediumwave - albeit still with heavy noise from thunderstorms all over the place.
The frequency is 738 kHz from Barcelona/Palau de Plegamans, with a 600kW transmitter currently operated at 150kW daytime, 100kW at night. Admittedly, power reduction isn't as much of a problem as late fade-up times as we're still experiencing the longest days in the year in northern hemisphere.
BTW, Antena 1 is still on MW too - but as Portugal is further than Spain from my location, their transmitter powers are lower, and the frequencies occupied by other stations, I couldn't hear them directly. So it's even nicer to get a "relay" from Spain 🙂
