Last October 12 and 13 at Ayala Malls TriNoma in Manila Philippines for the Bushiroad EXPO 2024, I was fortunate to meet one of the members of the real-life Japanese all-female rock band called MyGO!!!!! the band's rhythm guitarist and the seiyuu for Chihaya Anon from BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!! the lovely Tateishi Rin-chan in the autograph sessions at the event and the crazy part is the autograph sessions are limited to 30 people and are won via lottery kinda of like a gacha that you have to get a number from 1- 30, the fact that I've got a slot for both days is just pure luck, and it still feel so surreal that I didn't just beat the odds but I also managed to meet her in person both days and I swear I just can't explain how beautiful and radiant she is and probably one of the nicest people I've ever met, she's so nice, friendly, and she really is such a sweetheart and I swear once I finally moved to Japan, MyGO!!!!! will be one of those bands that I will going to watch perform live.
Just a note that Bang Dream is not an idol show. It may look like that in the surface but they are completely different on the inside. Bang Dream is a music anime that is closer to Bocchi The Rock, K-ON than Love Live which is an idol anime. This is like calling a Fortnite a fighting game when the only thing in common is that both are PC games.
I also really love the idea of the band name "It's My GO". Allow me to explain to those who didn't pick it up during the watch, and are still confused. The English words "my go" is homophonous to the Japanese word for "getting lost", pronounced as "maigo". Anon proposed the name because she felt that all five of them are lost girls, but also this band they have is their new chances in life, hence "It's my go (chance)". I've seen people appreciating the title drop in Bocchi the Rock, so I figured people might also appreciate the fact that the show name actually has an in-lore meaning.
I just attended Bushiroad EXPO 2024 in Manila last Saturday and Sunday, October 12 and 13 and on both days I met Anon's seiyuu and the guitarist for the real-life MyGO!!!!! the lovely Tateishi Rin-chan in the autograph sessions, and these autograph sessions are only limited to 30 people and slots are won by a lottery kinda like a form of a gacha and you have to pick a number from 1-30 then it qualifies you to purchase her Bromide which is like a postcard with a picture of her in it and that Bromide is where she will sign and luckily for me in both days I'm one of those lucky participants who got a chance to meet her and I swear I can't describe how beautiful and radiant she is, she's so nice, friendly and she really is such a sweetheart.
Thank you so much for making a video on this. MyGO!!!!! Has been one of my favourite shows ever since i first watxhed it. I loved it so much that Im even learning to sing & play Haru Hikage on bass. It's genuinely one of the most well written, symbolic and beautifully animated band shows ive ever wached. I'd played BanG Dream before i watched MyGO, and the references are minimal- you're not missing much. Most of the appearances are characters from the other bands of the series (Taki mentions that Afterglow are staring at them during the soundcheck! but Afterglow are a bunch of goofballs!) And also the poster girl, Kasumi from PoppinParty. The only other reference I've got is the Live House that Rana mentions, SPACE, which is featured in the first season of the show. It's implied that the owner is Ranas grandmother, which is a great passing of the torch kind of moment for the series (Take this with a grain of salt, please! I'm not well versed in Bandori lore..) Oops- this is getting to be a long comment. Thank you for making this video! I love MyGO so much, and I'm so glad more people are watching it!!
I love MyGO so much and their music. I knew Bang Dream before but not really into it until MyGO came into the universe. I'm glad that a lot of people watching it now and appreciate its story. Thank you for making this video!
Great review and glad you enjoyed MyGO Been a BanG Dream fan for many years but fell off over time as overseas activities died out Personal first impression of MyGO was indifferent as the series had trouble of providing content for the other bands so adding another was more fuel to the fire (they announced the IRL band first, had a few lives, shorts, and songs over a year til they announced the anime, I watched none of it) As the anime aired my timeline on social media exploded with discussions, fanart, clips from old mutuals, so I decided to watch it myself MyGO is the best work the franchise has done and reignited my love for BanG Dream I'll do what it takes to fly to Japan to watch them live
I'll say this much. I had no experience with BanG Dream! before watching MyGO!!!!!. I still watched every episode as they aired, and the only reason why it _didn't_ become my anime of the year was that it had the misfortune of going up against one of the most personally significant manga adaptations I've ever seen. So I really don't believe that the easter eggs add all that much to the experience.
If you like It’s MyGO!!!!! then surely you will not miss out its sequel Bang Dream Ave Mujica, which will coming out next year, I hope it will answer the mystery behind Sakiko’s decision to end Crychic
For those who don't know BanG Dream! has 7 real-life bands so far they are Poppin'Party, Roselia, RAISE A SUILEN, Morfonica, MyGO!!!!!, Ave Mujica and Mugendai Myu-Type the seiyuus who voice the characters are really skilled musicians and they are the ones who play their own instruments during live concerts unlike in Bocchi the Rock where they don't even bother to hire seiyuus who are actual musicians that could play the instruments of the characters that they are voicing since it's story is just tailor-made to adapt the manga. BanG Dream! on the other hand has been around since 2015 and the first ever band in the franchise is Poppin'Party they were formed in 2015 followed by Roselia in 2016 and RAISE A SUILEN was formed in 2017 around the same time when the 1st season of BanG Dream! aired. RAISE A SUILEN actually started as a backing band for Anime and game-only bands like Glitter Green, Pastel Palettes, Afterglow, and Hello Happy World. RAISE A SUILEN was introduced in the 2nd season of BanG Dream! in 2019, Morfonica was formed in 2020, MyGO!!!!! was formed in 2021 but they were just introduced in April of 2022 and Ave Mujica was formed in 2022 but was just introduced in early 2023. Both MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica are in the same series called BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!! and Ave Mujica will be having their series called BanG Dream! Ave Mujica which will air on January 2025 but before we get into that BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!! will be having a FILM LIVe version kinda like a condensed version of the Anime and it's kinda like a preparation for the series BanG Dream! Ave Mujica.

hello! major afterglow fan here, i absolutely adored the inclusion of my fav girls in mygo
Mygo!!!!! its not idol band(and others too) nor a idol anime. (Theres only one ''idol'' band in the franchise).
Yeah I goofed on that one. I've been trying to correct myself whenever MyGO comes up in other videos and discussions.
