Thank you. We have one in Wisconsin called “Old World Wisconsin” but it is many different nationalities. Why would this gentleman want to be so deceiving?
This is a living history attraction. These people are costumed interpreters, basically actors who carry on activities in a historical manner. They don't live like that. There are places all over the US where the same thing happens, I'm surprised anyone thinks otherwise.
Yes, it was obvious when he just walked into someone’s home without knocking. He’s a bit rude, in a way, like he’s making fun of people. A bit off-putting.
After learning from the comments that the so-called traditional village shown in the video is an open-air museum, it finally makes sense to me why the "villagers" in the video reminds me so much of the staff working in a theme park. Because they ARE staff members working in a theme park!
i think tou might have misunderstood. this village is a museum. a sort of collection of buildings that have often been taken down and rebuilt here. no one lives there regularly. the church you were in was actually picked apart from its original location in “Gol” and brought there nd rebuilt. ans a replica was put up in the original spot.
The Folk Museum in Oslo! A fabulous collection of houses and buildings from the last 700 or so years of Norwegian history. I was in most of these buildings just a few weeks ago! (I do hope people understand that this is not in any way an actual village - just a museum, and an excellent one.)
This reminds me of my daily life, I am from the mountains of North Africa in Algeria, every two days I cross the mountains and villages with my horse to sell olive oil and mountain herbs. this life makes you calm and brave at the same time
My in-laws have a small summer farm in Tallberg Sweden. It is a time capsule from the 1950's. They kept it in original form: timber house, pump well, outhouse, cold cellar, wood shed, hay shed, tool shed, cow barn and workshop. I love being there! It is very real and very much in use by our family to this day. Hey!
This is an outdoor museum and not a real life village. Sorry to burst your bubble. It is located just outside Oslo whitch is a big city!! I hope you are being Ironic😅
@@dcfreak23 It's embarrassing to watch. Surely he can't be that naive? I agree with you he's just another American trying to make a drama out of everything.
So is this guy really thinking people actually live here and acting like it’s the 1800,s. Then walking into people’s homes if it was real when they are not home? 😂
I don't know where in Europe we may still find this open fire working outside of the museums and stylish today's lounges. But it's the most tasty food cooked on this open fire and hot ashes.
It's an open-air museum. There's no need to travel to Norway to see it. These types of museums are all over Europe. EDIT: Also, if this was a real town, people would not speak fluent English and they would not wear 200+ years old clothes (style).
Why wouldn’t people speak fluent English in a real Norwegian town??? We start to learn English in school at six years old at the same time we start to learn how to read and write. It’s very rare that Norwegians don’t speak English . Some might be to shy to speak , but even my grand mother born in 1922 was taught English in school , so even in the oldest generation most people understand English and are able to communicate in some way.
Look through the comment section. Obviously they don't live like this anymore. It's an open air museum and you'll find them in almost all european countries for instance Denmark has 'Den Gamle By i Aarhus' (The Old Town of Aarhus). Norway is one of the most advanced and richest societies in the world so even in the small villages (which people actually live in) they wear The North Face, Canada Goose and so forth, live in top-of-the-line-houses, drive expensive cars and snow scooters. Don't believe the hype but go there non the less you'll find that contemporary village life is as exciting as museum exhibitions.
This village like a model which is caring by Norwegian, whatever but today I think it is most desirable pattern to live our lives. I don't know who will like or dislike but I am so crazy for this lifestyle. So much love from India.
I think people are disliking since the video is pretending this is actually how life in Norwegian villages are in 2019, when he's actually showing an open air museum in Oslo: norskfolkemuseum.no/en.
