I always keep forgetting about Graf, good to see his development continue. A prospect that got lost in your review was Thomas Bordeleau. IMO is on a make or break year. He’s finally healthy and should be on deck for a call up. Would like to see Grier extend him on another deal to prove it in 2025 to create some team equity. So refreshing to see this team just loaded to the gills with prospects and potentially another top 5 pick after this season.
Great episode guys. Sharks fans are all salivating as we hope more of these guys develop into NHL regulars. Curious......does the Sharks pool match / exceed the rest of the league in: 1) Higher end talent 2) Just the sheer number of prospects that can develop into legit NHLers? 3) BOTH? Thx!
Cheers! Definitely have the most high end talent and are pretty high up in terms of deepest pools (maybe around 5th best). We did a whole series ranking the league’s prospect pools this summer and there’s no shock that SJS ended up at 1. ruclips.net/video/Dm8GS0GN6lA/видео.htmlsi=CMvK7O9vcKezaqKN
Sharks are a bit higher in the standings due to games played. Point % they are still bottom 3 or 4. Blackwood trade will cost them their share of games. Add in trading a Granlund / Ceci / etc. and there is "hope" for a bottom 4 draft pick. True....might not be bad enough for Schaefer but those Top 4 are a big cut above the rest of the top of the draft class.
But imagine if they can have not 1, but 2 Eklund's... Might match where they are drafting more as well (around 6 or 7). But yes a d man definitely fits that prospect pool better and Schaefer is next level
Sharks pool so deep. You guys did a great job covering a lot of them, but as someone mentioned Jack Thompson shows promise and of course Ethan Cardwell as well.
Yeah, he's been kinda invisible to me this season. As long as he is playing solid defensively to stay on the 3rd line at the NHL later I'm okay with that
It’s been a quiet stretch for his development. We can only fit so many names into each episode and he was among the final cuts, still a notable name, but outshone by younger players on more promising trajectories
Graf and Cardwell have passed him on depth charts tbh. An untimely injury before camp wrecked his chances to make the team. He's the classic "not good enough for top 6 but not suited for bottom 6 player right now."
Also Jack Thompsons been pretty solid in the NHL
Yeah, he'll probably be a solid 3rd liner or on the 2nd line with Muhkhamadulin
And Shakir had a groin injury to start the year, hence the slow start
Askarov first two ahL games in sj were shutouts, that’s a shaky start? Oooof
Yep. Kind of an odd bit there.
Askarov started the season with two shutouts.....

If they can somehow draft Schaefer then it'll be game over.
They won't be bad enough

Any of the top 4 guys would be huge
Game over for what? I think they're doing a good job rebuilding.

I think the sharks wanted Musty to be traded due to Sudburys playstyle that doesn’t really translate to the NHL. It was about his development
Thrun’s a left shot. He seems more a #6-7 D at best. Not quick enough and no physicality to make up for it. Shakir may be about to leapfrog him.

No thomas bordeleau, guess he has fallen off quite a bit
He's with the San Jose baracuda

@@Inub0iI think he could be a good peice to add to a trade at the deadline
He’s really picked up lately. I’d argue he’s been better than Guschin recently.
Hey guys, the video clarity wasn't that great for this video...
