Great content as usual, thanks! :) I agree with your thoughts on Bords, Coe, Gushchin, and Robins. I think the odds are the Sharks move on from a minimum of two of those prospects. I had hoped Robins would end up a 4th line center and Bords and Gush would be middle six point producing wingers. However, I think in the end we will be lucky if Bords ever cracks the Sharks lineup. You are right that having good players down with the Cuda is valuable, but like they got Ports, Carlsson and Schult, an organization can find those players when needed. Still, I hope the best for them as I selfishly want Robins, Gush and Robins to stick around and make the Sharks. On a brighter side (like you talked about) both Thompson and Shakir look like they will eventually be Sharks mainstays. Here's hoping the best for the forwards and seeing them on the Sharks at some point. Looking at this draft class, it is a testament to GMMG's building of the prospect pool. The future is Teal!
I’ll be honest I wouldn’t be that surprised or upset if most of these guys don’t end up cracking the NHL roster. I feel like after four years with a forward you kind of have a good idea of what you’re looking at. This was the tail end of the Doug Wilson era and it feels like he was always looking for the next Pavelski. These guys that are supposed to be smaller skilled players. I just don’t think they have a place in the current sharks rebuild. Guys like Bords are good but not good enough to crack the top six and not tough enough to be a bottom six grinder or energy guy. The fact that compete is still an issue with Bords after all this time is a pretty major issue when you don’t have the skill to back it up. Out of all of them I could maybe see Gush but all the other guys are probably AHL journeymen at this point. I could see some of these guys being a prospect chip in in potential trades coming up. I just think at this point our top six is pretty tidy and we can find better bottom six guys in either trade or free agency.
2020 draft class has no weight behind it. It was also Wilson’s last and Grier doesn’t really have any equity in it aside from the two defensemen. Sure it would be nice if these guys could play meaningful games but the truth is they’ve played end of season meaningless games and barely produced. As for the forwards being age 23ish, what you see is what you get. The defensemen still have room to grow, usually age 25 is when development arc is at its peak and they either boom or bust in the pros. Bordeleau, Robbins and Gushchin should be moved out sooner than later. With Grier’s affection of signing bottom 6 forwards and the upcoming forward pipeline (Smith, Musty, Haltunen, Bystedt, Chernyshov, 2025 1st?). I do think Grier may end up taking a stab at FA for a top 6 forward to expedite his rebuild. I don’t see room for any of those little bodies. Best case scenario as JD pointed is they get ice time post trade deadline and one or two get a prove it contract, step up in 2025/26 and provide position value or trade equity.
We want a Mukuhmadullin and Thompson pairing!!
I think Bordeleau would benefit from this iteration of the Sharks. Warso and the pro-development culture of the sharks would be great for him.

Askarov was also 2020, but I suppose we know where he's at.
I swore he was 2021. My bad, I’ll get him in the 2021 group!
Could you get on bluesky pls? Thanks!

Sharks should pick up Pyotr Andreyanov as a Goalie in the draft & Radim Mrtka for a Right defense
