That's the problem: it looks easy when you can't see all my fuckups. Stay out in the open for just a split second too long, and...dead; restart from the checkpoint, which goes aaaaaalll the way back to shooting the grunts off the plasma turrets. That's why I have my commentary trying to explain what you have to do.
I came here cuz now I’m in the second bay past the corridor turret and you’re met with two grunts using plasma turrets, easy enough to pick off with BR but here’s where I struggle, having enough plasma grenades, possibly a needler to pair with an SMG and any plasma rifle dropped by elites, and all the leftover guns and ammo from dead marines. I know it’ll get harder fighting the jet pack elites
For everyone stuck on this mission, don't give up! The objective "repel the covenant boarders" is super difficult, but eventually you will get it. After that objective, things get easier, every level is challenging on legendary, but if you can beat cairo station you can beat the game
I've tried for several hours to get past the room that starts at 15:00. I hoard plasma pistols at the bottom of the stairs, but each Elite can kill me in less than a second, and their cover's a bit too good. Help/advice?
I've been playing H2 since I was a kid, I'm only here for Hokie's clever legendary strats... and yet I watched the entire cutscene again, rooted to my seat. And yeah, the remastered version builds on this in every way to make it even more amazing.

I always got stuck on the second pelican bay lol. To complete the whole level without dying is impressive man, i bet you had a load of attempts getting this done in one life.

The white elites are called ultras, the spec ops are purple. I think you are confused because the Spec Ops leader is white but that's because he is an ultra.

Honestly habitat Delta was the hardest section for me. The last covenant squad that comes through the door in the room with plasma turret always gave me grief

Idk if it's me but it seems like they take longer to kill you even though you aren't constantly moving. When I shoot in one area it gets stormed by plasma fire and the only way for me to come out it by throwing a grenade; basically I have to turtle my way through it until I run low on ammo and then get killed by a doggo elite in about 3 seconds flat.
After playing on legendary I can't seem to enjoy any other difficulty. Just finished the third mission and I'm absolutely loving it! It's like playing requiem in Skyrim

People can call the plasma pistol BR a noob combo. But if you are into the Halo lore its exactly how a SPARTAN would fight, why make it harder when you could two piece an enemy?
I honestly don't know how you could get past some sections of the game without it, honestly. Even two-handing plasma rifles or needlers is pretty much useless on legendary
Much to my surprise, during a recent Halo marathon play through, I realised Halo 2 is my favourite. I've the most nostalgia for CE, Halo 3 is the most competent but once I learned how to play Halo 2 (thanks to Hokie) I enjoyed this one the most. It has some of my favourite music, too.

This is a very awesome walkthrough you've did. What I do throughout is I used an energy sword and grenades just to assassinate Carriers, Heretics, Brutes, Grunts, etc. real easy. Doing them with different weapons like Plasma Rifles and Pistols, Battle Rifles, and so forth is very complicated, and it'll take more than 15-20 minutes in one area to do so. But If I used a Rocket Launcher on an Enforcer, it won't be a big deal.

Halo 2 is probably one of the best looking original Xbox games. It's upgraded slightly on the PC version but some of it does look fairly dated while other parts hold up pretty well.
Dual wielding plasma pistols in order to have a constant supply of Noob Combo is such a devilishly simple and clever trick, it's a good example of how extensive Hokie's knowledge is. No doubt, as shown by later livestreams of H2, that came at the cost of endless hours of frustrating deaths.
This was great except for the issue I had was sticking one of the two elites outside the airlock! Because it is a new chapter the HUD disappears and it is almost impossible for me to stick the bastard! Took me 30 tries but I finally got through that part!

I didn't use them because I never bothered to test them out. wasn't much of a trial and error gamer back then, I use plasma pistol elite combo like crazy now though. Screw doing that again

The Prophet of Truth was so much better in Halo 2. He seemed genuinely sinister, and you got the sense he knew something the rest of the council, and by extension the whole Covenant, didn't know. Halo 3's Prophet of Truth was a completely different character altogether.

He knows he's gonna die either way, and if he's gonna go out, he wants to take the guys that revealed his schemes down with him. That's why the insane religious leader aspect is so played up on 3, at least how I see it

The cutscene gestures/ facial animation still hold up really well. Some of the animations even look better than Halo 3.

Lol yeah, back when I first did it I didn't just choose to not use a plasma pistol. I was more of the take what you have and work with it kind of player. I didn't use them because I never bothered to test them out. wasn't much of a trial and error gamer back then, I use plasma pistol elite combo like crazy now though. Screw doing that again
Krimson Hawk It's not hard if you think about it.To make it more difficult, Bungie just made it so the enemies do more damage and shoot super frickin fast, it's just frustrating lol.
SuperHalofan1337 Yeah, the enemies do about 1.5x more damage but because of their firing rate it's really like 4x damage

The Prophet of Truth was so much better in Halo 2. He seemed genuinely sinister, and you got the sense he knew something the rest of the council, and by extension the whole Covenant, didn't know. Halo 3's Prophet of Truth was a completely different character altogether.
I think the power, coupled with his knowledge of what the halo array really did, drove him over the edge and caused him to snap.
@@KnoxCarbon I always read into it as truth trying to cover his ass. He's panicking, knows if he admits the prophets have been peddling lies, his ass is grass. He knows he's gonna die either way, and if he's gonna go out, he wants to take the guys that revealed his schemes down with him. That's why the insane religious leader aspect is so played up on 3, at least how I see it

Ok, so... I just tried this, and if you boost yourself upstairs by energy swording the grunt on the turret at 20:45, you'll skip the prompt that makes the Covenant squad spawn across the hallway.
