I liked the video of cutting up the 05+, not many out there. Most guys are like me I guess, space it out over a few weeks. I was going to say add something to make it solid but you did towards the end. Makes it a lot easier for doing gears. I made my storage rack solid 4" H-beam, my axle building cart is just 3 old school Rigid pipe stands, I found it a lot more sturdy than any sort of rolling cart to work on. The foot print of a cart for working on them would just be too big once you get to installing D60 gears where you have to pry the carrier out of the housing while doing gear setup.
Thanks for watching till the end ;) haha yeah I've used carts with just casters before and they're a pain for anything that's not just a moving cart. I've built a few of these carts and with the added feet they're plenty stable for gear work and even prying out carriers. Can't really straighten tubes or any heavy duty axle work like that but luckily that's a rare job haha
Dont think that the carrying weight of the flat furniture feet really matter, only need to hold enough weight to act as brakes/stops for the wheels when put away. a few hundred pounds each would be more than enough. good build for beginer welders, like you said, gets time in and will be something that is uesfull, hell if you stop storing axles on it, it would work great as is, or as a base, for storing round and square tubes.
Where did you say the plans where? That is really cool set up. I have 6 different axles in my garage and they take up alot of room, this would be pretty neat for storage
@@WebWheeler thanks found it. I have most of that material laying in my garage, I may modify it a bit since I want it to hold 6 axle but the dimensions and materials are a great starting point

How stable is the stand when you move the axle around?
Feels like I couldn't knock it over if I tried haha. Thanks for watching!

Yeah im not worried about those feet and good call about being repurposed as a material rack 👍 !thanks for watching

There is a link in the video description that should take you to them. Let me know if it doesn't work! Thanks for checking out the video 👍

Glad it works! Wasnt sure if the link was right haha. A 6 axle stand will be sweet! I'd love to see it when you finish it up. Instagram @WebWheeler 😎
