I do like how you made an effort to bring the stitch over to the seam with a hand stitch (I do that too, because I find it to be more precise than just winging it with a sewing machine and chalk). Sometimes I like to not cut, but just leave the hand stitching, too, because (knowing me) my weight fluctuates, and it leaves me the chance to take it back out again if I ever need to. Nice video!!

When I'm buying maxi dress, I always prefer empire dress or any highwaisted dress since my turso is longer than my legs. I just got my XL dress yesterday from shopee and I found the upper part a little bit loose. Now, I have an idea how to make it fit near my armpit.Tgannks for the tips.

    • @sewaldodiy

If the material is stretch knit it will work and if you want to reshape the bodice you may have to take in the skirt waist a bit to match the altered bodice.

@@sewaldodiy Good idea. I also thought about replacing the skinny straps for something thicker. You can look up the dress on walmart website. It is this tiered, long navy blue Sofia Vergara dress, that has also tie on the back. It is a beautifull dress in person, but the straps that hurt your neck are a design flaw, probably mostly because the whole dress is hanging on your neck. It is true to your shirt size.
