I have found pretty dresses that I did not buy because the waists were too baggy, this is a fantastic fix, thank you!
I didn't even know there was elastic thread! Thanks!
Always glad to share what I know 🤗
Me either! I just ordered two spools of it. I was ready to make a casing for elastic, now I don't have to!
Yes, I like refashion videos!
Very glad to hear this! 🤗
Thanks for the video on adding elastic to dress waist, and yes I love refashion videos as well
this is what i need for a dress, but i didn't know how to explain it to a tailor, thank you
Watching from Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬 and thank you so much I learned a lot ❤
Just used this method to add waistbands to some swim coverups that were very oversized. It took me a bit to understand in practice and I ended up doing 5 rows instead of 3 but the end result looks great! Thanks much for this information
This is exactly what I needed! I've had this explained to me, but I couldn't wrap my brain around it. It really helps to be shown - thank you!
thank you Julija (what a great difference to spell your name), this will come handy of several boxy dresses I have to add a small gathered waist.
You explained and showcased in detail, very easy to follow.
This is awesome! I never attempted anything with an elastic thread, going to give it a try.
Elastic thread is so handy! I always keep a few bobbins in my thread drawer 🤗
Just what I was searching for, a some solution for gathering.
Thank you for a great tutorial. I am mostly a visual learner and your instructions are well demonstrated too. Love your sweater idea - I also knit and would like to try that out. And it also helps you have coppery hair & fair skin to see how good it looks on you. (yes I have the same going for me).
This was so helpful, can't want to transform all my summer dresses!
Very glad to hear this video was helpful!🤗
Thank you so much. I have been searching for a video like this. I have sewn A line dress that I don't like the look of. Too baggy. This will be perfect!!
I absolutely love this refashion idea!
Very glad to hear this!🤗
This is an excellent video explaining how to add elastic to the waist! Thank you!
Nice and easy, thank you and yes, I would love to see refashion videos
This tutorial is fantastic! I'm excited to try this technique. Also love how your personality shines in the video! :)
This was exactly what I was looking for . Thank you!
Very glad to hear this video was helpful!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills. I like it. God bless you and your family. JESUS loves you all so much.
Nice look! Very easy and simple, anyone could do this!
Thanks for very much, I learned a lot from you vedio, good explanation and understandable
Can you do this in reverse? I look better in straight lines than with a waistband. Was thinking of doing this with a dress I recently got - I want to take out the waist elastic.
Thank you so much! This really worked for me.
So happy to hear this, Wendy!
Amazing.
Wow!, your a joy to watch ❤
What a great idea!
Love it. Thanks
Thank you for sharing ❤
Great quick refashioned video 😊 I needed this, thank you ☺️ Please share more tips 👍
Very glad to hear you enjoyed the video 🤗
What if you already had a very small band of elastic around the waist but wanted to make it thicker? Would it be possible to follow what was already there without drawing the lines because the dress doesn't hang straight anymore?
Will this work on a stretch fabric as well?
What tension setting do you recommend for the sewing machine?
Thank you I want to lurn more😍💓
Thanks so much! ❤️
Perfect!
What tension do you use for shirring? I have experimented with different tension settings but it doesn’t seem to work for any of them. Thoughts?
Great video thanks!! Didn’t know there was elastic thread!
Thanks for this video.. is there a special setting on the sewing machine for this?
What would you recommend for marking white fabric?
Hi Julie 😊 can you changed a gathered waiste in a shirt dress (Lyra) to elastic ? 😊
Hello, julija, do you stitch on the regular side, not the underside (inside out) side? Thank you so much!
Yes, you shir on the right/upside of the fabric. That way the elastic thread is hidden on the wrong/backside 😊
@daaesviolin that is what I thought, thank you so much!
@@milliebeeski of course!!
What size needle do you use?
Me too did not know there is an elastic thread
👍
Was this zigzag stitch?
Straight stitch!🤗
Where do you get the elastic thread? 😅
Joann or Amazon

Absolutely amazing tutorial thank U. Can you show how to sew an elastic waist for a halter neck which has triangle top?
