Check your local library! I was able to put in a request at mine if they had extra funding dollars and they bought one! 🥰

This is my favorite way and something I came up with when I was making a bunch of lounge pants during the COVID pandemic. One thing I do that may make it easier for beginners is to sew (tack) down the 4 points (middle, back and sides) instead of just pinning them. Just makes it a little easier to maneuver. Then stretch from point to point and sew. Thank you!

Oh thats super helpful! This just gives it some security when stretching? I love hearing that you made lots of lounge pants during the pandemic...great idea!

What a timing! I just finished some pyjama hot pants without the elastic. I will give it a try. Thank you so much ❤

I use both methods but mostly casing as it can be removed if elastic is too tight or loose. Thanks for the tips.

Thats a great thought - I use both methods still, just depends on the garment :)

When I do this the elastic doesn’t align well with the fabric underneath even if I stretch it a lot as I sew. What am I doing wrong?😢

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that! Do you mean that when you fold it over the waistband is crooked?

It’s nice, but not adjustable if elastic is too big or small and not easily replaceable if elastic wears out. How do I know, I just tried it and elastic is a bit too loose. That’s when I realized I could not easily adjust it. Live and learn.

Thats true! It is a good alternative to the channel method if you don't need to adjust the elastic later on.
