    for the 2017 ehybrid, do you have to press "e-charge" for the braking to send power to the battery? I noticed it does not unless that button is pressed. If that is the case, can you set that button to always be on?

    I'm interested in the charge as you go system as VW seemed to be ahead of the pack on this with the 918 and in development with the next R10.

    How is the gas engine torque 325lbs, and the electric motor is 229lbs, and combined torque is only 435lbs? Wouldn’t it be 229 + 325? 554lbs?

    As much ch as I love Porsche, electric cars need a better solution for charging. Tesla is close with the robotic arm idea, but I think some type of skid plate on the ground that you could drive on to would be more ideal. You drive over it, the car lowers a connector (I'm thinking magnetic like MacBook Pros) and that's it.

      Qualcomm and BMW showcased a wireless charging system like that few years ago, but it's not gaining traction for some reason...

    I know the all know Cayenne is coming next year, but do you think Porsche will make a Cayenne Turbo S e Hybrid like the did the Panamera, putting the V8 on it?

  • @tarassu

    I think this color is far from electrifying.

    Amazingly this was the car I wanted to buy. But since the purschase was a partnership it wasn't all up to me. The goal was a Model X. Didn't wanna pay 150k right now so we went to Porsche and this car was presented as an alternative and even though I was sweaty palms lets do this. My partner was not happy with the milage numbers. So we checked out the Volvo XC90 T8 which had better everything in terms of where we need to be right now. Porsche needs to switched to the newer batteries that are lighter, improved kwh and more range over all. So the standards is currently. If your hybrid cannot do 20 to 30 miles in pure electric mode driving moderately & 35 to 65 mph then their is no benefit and your not interested in being green or working on it so just go get a gasoline car with power and be done with it. Personally I live for the 911 Carrera 4S with the PDK trans.

      A gain of 1 or 2 miles per gallon times millions and millions of miles driven by the fleet, adds up to a lot of carbon! Small improvements in efficiency go a long way.

      Model X isn't worth twice the price. The handling and fit and finish is better in the Porsche

      If they could upgrade the batteries to a EV range of 50 miles. I probably rarely use the gas engine unless somebody gets aggressive with me on the road but I really really wanna just be all electric on my vehicle. I don't suffer from range anxiety. I always plan my trips.

    The color does not look good in the video. I'm sure it looks better in person, but those calipers tho 🤢
    The caliper color probably looks great in monotone colors like white, black, silver and dark gray

  • @cl6772
    @cl6772 7 лет назад

    That engine and interior is really dated now. It needs the 2.9l from the Panamera and its interior/center console. Seeing how there is a redesign/refresh in 2018MY to be launched later this year its tough to swallow MSRP for a soon "last gen" car.

    omg!! shocked to see their clunky plugin wire/system. honda, chevy and subaru have done better engineering and designing to reflect year 2017. :( .. Porsche is turning to be the blackberry of 2006 !! if they really want to appeal to millennial generation who is going to accumulate next generation of wealth, they have to kick out or re-train their existing designers/eng. The days of everything else is an additional package is long gone and it will be late by the time they realize. secondly, everything is connected to a switch and even the fifth generation aircraft became more intelligent and got rid of many switches. I don't understand what happened to these brands like Porsche and rolls royce who happens to be the creators of new, back in time. Either they are delusional or they may be too tired of innovation.
