23 mpg is as good or better than my '09 Escape with i4! And that thing takes twice as long to get to 60 mph. I'm loving every mile of 40 mpg in my new hybrid, the Lexus ES 300h, though. 200hp, 0-60 in 8 seconds, just fine for a family car.
Does MotorWeek own the closed 75-80 Dragway? I know it is not an active track but how about cutting the weeds down along the track so it doesn't look so run down.
I love this car. Porsche Hybrids are fast and very powerful, with great mpg. The only downside I can see is that the new 2018 redesign is light years better looking inside and out!
PDK are a sale gimmick, unless you're driving really hard all the time they're lousy, unreliable and inefficient in city driving. Why on earth would you want one unless it's a track car?
While the PDK is an absolutely amazing transmission for sports cars, it's not good for the Cayenne as the Cayenne is a true SUV that can tow 8000 lbs and go off roading. The PDK is bullet proof and similar transmissions are found in multiple brands these days as manual's go the way of the rotary phone.
Take a look at fords history with PDK failures, while otherwise I agree with how they should not really be in an SUV and in my view most road cars, they're terrible to drive in heavy city traffic, that said they're great for open road spirited driving.
Not everyone can drive! The objective is to make the world dummy proof. That's how you make the roads safe. Safety equipment is to make sure even someone high on alcohol and cocaine can drive perfectly!
because the new generation isn't here yet and will only be offered in base and S models the first year...so if you want a hybrid/GTS/Turbo you either buy current model or wait 1-2 years.
Now see, this is exactly why I will stick to my Japanese cars. You mean to tell me you're going to design an $80,000 car, and still don't give it a back-up camera, which is standard across practically all manufacturers??? $80,000 for a badge that says Porsche. I'd rather spend $50,000 on an MDX or Pilot and get everything this Porsche doesn't offer. I'm extremely disappointed.
My 2012 Cayenne Turbo has backup camera, I'm guessing this was a base model without that option. Yes, I agree it should be a standard feature, but nothing is standard with Porsche, hence how they are the most profitable car manufacturer.

The most impressive slalom test I've seen in a long time. This this loves tight turns!
Thanks for this video. And you are a classic Sr. I have been watching your videos since..... wow who knows. Forever.

John Davis is the best. Have been watching him for years.
The new generation Cayenne was launched this week.
Thumbs up for Motorweek thumbs down for the vehicle although the 43 MPG with EV is great for an SUV...
real top speed ??????please answer
GTS has cam........hmmmm. Nice GTS seats in this spec. Used Turbo is way to go

u mean 2019?
2019 north american market , 2018 European market
I think the 2019 looks far worse
I like the 2nd gen inside better and the 3rd.gen outside better
Well, for consideration in Italy only 1 (ONE in 60milion people) is registered as a hybrid....and it starts from 95,000 euros....Wooooow what a deal!
A hybrid though, will it be available even with the Dual-Clutch PDK?
All Cayennes up to 2017, including the Turbo S, are Automatic transmissions with torque converter. No Cayenne has PDK.

How the fuck does it not have a backup camera!?
Who spec'd a Cayenne without Premium Package Plus?! Did MotorWeek request to test the most stripped car available?
JUMP23MΔN it'll be standard next year because of government standards in 2018. But yeah, why would you pay over $60k and not have a rear camera.
I have a Cayenne and I don't need a back up camera, not did I need one on any grand cherokee I had in the past. Why? Because I can actually drive!

Funny but true
The rich asian car
LoL really Porsche??? You want me to pay $80k for this, and you can’t even put in a back up camera???
....motor week is now Beverly hills week....LoL......;--),,,,,,,,,,,
manually adjustable steering wheel? that's like poor...
Why are you reviewing this? The new generation is just around the corner.

Virtually no body roll? Did he watch the same video as us when narrating?
The new 2018 will be released fall 2018, 1 year from now, while the factory retools.
I love porsche but the cayenne breaks down all the time.. buyer beware...
really ?
