Thank you for the excellent video. Listening to you type on it for the sound test was exactly what I was looking for to close the deal on purchasing this keyboard. I think this is the best sized TKL with just the right amount of options in all the right places. The Cherry MX Red Linear switches are just perfect, they sound great and have a great feel when typing. The Keycaps are not bunched together like on smaller TKL keyboards and this is definitely the best typing experience I have had with a keyboard. It is just the right size, not to big not to small, just perfect.
@Southeastern777 I have ditched almost all my external Corsair products (two keyboard failures, 3 mice failures, PoS RBG stand) now with Logitech and will likely never go back, they are so much better and a mouse pad that charges my mouse when I use it not if it is parked the perfect geolocated position? Money. However I do have the the K70 non RGB version and it so far has been the best of all the corsair products I have owned in some time, but the G815 has been such an amazing keyboard I am considering the TKL version to replace my K70.
@Southeastern777 I do find device enjoyment to be very personal, however I love the low profile keyboard, totally sold on it now. However saying that, the G815/915 are not cheap and the powerplay mouse pad was insane along with the G502 rodent...so what does that make me? I bought on a prayer, as no one had one to try, luckily it been a great purchase for me.
@@exmortis4404 What about the keycaps of your G815 ? Some reviewers tends to say that they become "slippery" with time of play. I currently own the first model of the K70, still happy with it but i'm looking to get a smaller keyboard (TKL or 65%) such as the new K70, or Apex 7, or Ducky Miya Pro, I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DOOOOOO :(
@@MisterBacKSiDe Well I can't tell you what to do, but here is what I don't like about the G815 Nothing is perfect. 1- Special keys are not lit up above the numbers or any key. 2-Cable is braided, but it makes it really stiff, an issue as I have a monitor arm. 3-Volume roller is free wheel, no feedback. 4-No WASD key texture, making them a bit hard to "feel" them when gaming. What I found vs reviews: 1-I don't find keys slippery. 2-I don't find the key wobble to be even a slight bother. 3-There are no after market keycaps still that I am aware of. What I like: 1- Love the low profile and low profile keys. 2-Love the stroke feel, its amazing. 3-RGB color is some of the most vibrant however it does not do "white" well. 4-Sturdy construction, it feels like a battleship.5-Software is decent, better than CUE but it does less so maybe unfair, also lower impact on system especially compare to CUE.
Well they have finally added a removable cable which everyone has been screaming for, a V2 of this with a choice of switches including an SE in White with their new OPX switches to take advantage of the top polling rates, and the ICUE Nexus built on.......throws money at screen!!! This still feels like a work in progress.
I have been watching a lot of Video's for custom or modifying keyboards to be Thockier. But... This keyboard has a nice thocky sound and I really enjoy the typing experience I get with it. For a mass marketed/produced keyboard from Corsair, I think they hit a home run with this one. The Cherry MX Red switches really have a nice sound to them with this keyboard.
Unfortunately, Corsair doesnt utilize their own OPX switches with these new KB with Hyper Poling tech, mechanical switches cant fully utilize the potential of those high poling rate.
What are you talking about? There is no difference in speed. Speed of light is speed of light, and you should know that electricity is as fast as light. Optical switches are just superior in reliability and can be made as analog switches.
Bought one and I have to say the keys are horrible for typing. Significantly worse than even the Red ones - many more typos with it. But that might also be because of the weirdly sloped design and high build. This keyboard is also very loud, mainly because of the use of the metal plate that amplifies every noise of the switches and caps, incl. very loud pinging. I dont understand why manufacturers use these metal plates all the time. They really have no advantage. I also dont understand why reviewers dont criticize them, since they so obviously make keyboards much louder. Another culprit is the iCUE software. Its simply horrible. Very clunky and confusing. But thats not the worst part. Its a huge resource hog. It installs 5 or 6 different services and background tasks that run all the time (even if you closed it from the tray) and cause a CPU usage of a combined ~5% on a 12 thread CPU. Ive even noticed some frametime hickups due to this. The only choice is to install it and configure your keyboard, save it to the hardware profile, then uninstall iCUE again and hope you will never need it again or Corsair wont make it mandatory to have it installed. But still this is a good keyboard for gaming, compared to other options on the market. Its also said to be the fastest keyboard available right now (in terms of input lag). You can even get the noise under control if you spend the time to lube every switch properly and install 2 (!) silicone rings under every keycap. Oh yeah, and the lighting is not very bright compared to my other keyboards. Even at max setting its still not as bright as others at their lowest setting. I noticed it because I have an extra USB-numpad and tried to get the same color and brightness as it has, but its impossible because the Corsair looks so much dimmer, even if you get the color more or less right. Maybe its because of the PBT caps.
Did Razer really pay you guys to show their products like headsets in the middle of a Corsair "review"? K70 software really seems to have it all even a Layout switch, so you can really use it all around. Brown switches are not clicky. Where is Briony? Is she ok? I miss her.
The same. I wonder why they think we need RGB. I need a TKL mechanical keyboard which lasts for a year. Just like microsoft keyboards did, with two AA batteries.
Great review once again Christina ❤️🥰👍🤯 I love my 70% silent optical switch k/b from Wooting. I think this Corsair with sooo many profiles is excessive 😛🤣😅. The new iCue software is a step up from the previous versions 👍😎. The k/b pricing is getting a bit high from these manufacturers without the premium custom feel of other independent brands.
yes but the apex pro tkl is fucking expensive af and rn i don’t have the money, idk if i should cop the k70 tkl as that’s the only thing i have enough for. anything else around the same price range that’s better than this?
@@angustreen1196 well the Corsair k70 is really good for the price and still is loved and has the mx silvers and good rgb I see no reason why you shouldn’t buy it and if you want a keyboard that has speed you can try the gk61 with gateron yellows they somewhat rival the apex pro or even try the razer huntsman mini
NO CORSAIR! NOOOOO! why oh WHY are they with the normal speed switch and not with corsairs OPX switches?!?!?!? The K65 was my favourite keyboard and I will not be buying the new k70 TKL! Waow! Corsair are so disappointing! Speed switches? WTF!
Your title already says best of 2021... Yet it just came out and literally so many better keyboards are available. Not to mention corsair is a trash brand overall.

Proud owner of the classic K70 RGB here. Incredible product. Durable as a tank. I only wish there was a TKL version back when I bought mine.

Agree, better movement with smaller keyboard. Now I just need a Numeric Keypad
Do you need the software running to use the 8k hz all the time or can you use the onboard profile without the software
Hello! I am thinking of buying this keyboard and I was wondering if it supports the Hyperx PBT Pudding keycaps. Does it support them?
is there coming a white version of this keyboard?
Is the bottom row finally standard?
what does it mean when the bottom row is standard?

Other recommendations that are in the same price range and also as ISO layout?

i had this keyboard Years and Years ago lol
Was it good?
No hand rest? I own a K70 MK2 and using it without the hand rest is uncomfortable.
It’s a tournament keyboard. It’s not designed for typing on. It’s designed to be off set on a desk instead of straight
just get a glorious wrist wrest for like 15 bucks
I like TKL keyboard very much. But I already have Corsair K68 RGB (Red Switch). So the switches options on K70 TKL is a deal breaker for me.
G915 / apex pro or k70 ? Tkl.
for the fastest keyboard objectively, k70 being 8k polling

Nice keyboard. But ouch at that price. Owned the Original K70 rgb with reds which I liked until I went completely wireless.

Very nice!!!
How odd it sound "Hit that Sub and Like button". My Eastern European ears heard: Hit that Sub, Unlike button. ;)
For a Tkl keyboard it costs too much. Too similar to K63 and K65 and doest justifise the double price compared to k63
