  • Using the Aero xr4000 reel, I show a simple but effective way of spooling on fresh mainline to your fishing reel, and also ensuring the mainline is sitting at the right depth within the spool.

Great tip for hiding the knot between the main and backing line.

Nick a good way of stopping the connecting knots causing a problem of when you cast it catches on it, cut some electrical tape into a small square and cover the knot as you get to it(like a plaster over a cut)the main line will bed it down and cover it, this can also be done when you tie the main line to the spool.🙃🙃😀

The problem is you only get one set of spacer?

Must agree with the first comment, you only get one line reducer unless that's changed? It's all about personal choice but I purchased two of these reels and could not get on with them so I swapped them for Centris reels and I love them❤ but each to their own 😊

Nick you forgot to say reels only come with one set of line reducers, and how do you spool up the 2nd spool? Its odd that Shimano don't sell the line reducers separately. .

    What line was it

If only more reels came with two or more matching spools, instead of just the one, or one shallow, one deep.
That reducer/spacer's a good idea though, might be a good excuse to buy a 3d printer.

I have watched every video going. And copied everything but still my line looks like spaghetti on a spool. Cheap £3 line does go on better than the expensive stuff though. Ill just start taking it to my local shop and get them to do it in future.. i give up trying to do it myself... Matrix and preston lines are the worst
