Toooo good!! All music lovers in the world should know about this band. Even though we don't know their language but their music and guitar beats really amazing. I am sure we can see some more great songs in future from this band..
True pure and unadulterated music like a breath of fresh air......you can really feel the dessert and culture in these sounds ..beautiful ...and thought provoking ... :)
They gave a concert in 2004, in a hall right next to my home. I had heard of them before so I jumped on this occasion to go and see them. I was right in front of the scene. Great music!
Pat found this on a website not sure if it a correct translation. THE TRAVELLER IN THE DESERT I am a traveller in the lone desert It's nothing special I can stand the wind I can stand the thirst And the sun I know how to go and walk Until the setting of the sun In the desert, flat and empty, where nothing is given My head is alert, awake I have climbed up and climbed down The mountains where I was born I know in which caves the water is hidden These worries are my friends I'm always on familiar terms with them and that Gives birth to the stories of my life You who are organised, assembled, walking together Hand in hand, you're living A path which is empty of meaning In truth, you're all alone
English lyrics of the Second Song: Those Boghassa will not learn We fled from the first moment It is to these men that the front has entrusted this mission He left them here to experience their value We will be free with old rifles With some knives, and even stones if necessary, Or we all die together And when I remember this fight Led to the dawn, without water, I know that we have valorous men.
any chance of a translation of the lyrics? would be interesting, go Mali, especially after their region was heavily bombed this year, solidarity with the desert people. xx

THE TRAVELLER IN THE DESERT
I am a traveller in the lone desert
It's nothing special
I can stand the wind
I can stand the thirst
And the sun
I know how to go and walk
Until the setting of the sun
In the desert, flat and empty, where nothing is given
My head is alert, awake
I have climbed up and climbed down
The mountains where I was born
I know in which caves the water is hidden
These worries are my friends
I'm always on familiar terms with them and that
Gives birth to the stories of my life
You who are organised, assembled, walking together
Hand in hand, you're living
A path which is empty of meaning
In truth, you're all alone

Those Boghassa will not learn
We fled from the first moment
It is to these men that the front has entrusted this mission
He left them here to experience their value

Or we all die together
And when I remember this fight
Led to the dawn, without water,
