A beer and a throwback In Flames song. Can't be a bad day.
This track, Stand Ablaze and Biosphere man Subterranean is such a blast to listen to. Would love to see you guys try out songs from their album Whoracle in the future, Jotun and Jester Script...are pretty epic and worth the listen imo.
i think stand ablaze is their best track ever point. and they never play it live...

One of my favorite In Flames songs by far, and this version is a lot better than the one on TJR with Anders imo. The vocals on here were done by the amazing Jocke Göthberg that later went on to be a part of Dimension Zero with Jesper and Glenn from In Flames.
Such a great song (both versions). It's interesting to listen to these tracks as they're are what got them signed.

they dont play older stuff like this cause they used to create songs with 3 and 4 harmonic guitars in the studios on top of each others and its hard to recreate it live

This version is better then the one on The Jester Race imo (love them both) but I love the old school production. Early In flames' guitar tone is the absolute sickest man.
@NoxAurea they certainly lost their unff after R2R for me.
I also prefer this one. The Marduk's Joakim is such a powerhouse.

Ok, this was fun to record with the one and only Jocke af Graf Göthberg. He knows how to sing and no offense to Anders but this is lightyears better and you hear what he sings. Cheers Glenn
So the guy singing here is actually Joakim from Marduk, not Henke Forss who was singing the other songs in this EP, not Stanne or Friden either. I guess it's the only song he did with IF?

@Doctor Aven I agree in everything you've said. In every case I also like to listen to the re-recorded stuff and like the way it is. In case of Clayman the result is just bad. The chorus is okay, nice drum sound, but the vocals in the verse are too high pitched and then the bassy music. You have a lack of mid sounds and so it sounds like cheap production.

My favorite In Flames song off my favorite In Flames recording. If you dug this, the vocalist on this track went on to form Cardinal Sin with Dissection's guitarist that co-wrote The Somberlain, check them out sometime.

Always good to hear old In flames, but as a patreon and full of old special melodic death metal, there is so many. Such as: Cardinal sin and their amazing spiteful intents Ep. Sins of omission: The creation. And especially my favorite band... Gates of Ishtar, "wounds" and so many songs from them, so many unknown classics to choose from ;-)

Wish there were more reactions on RUclips for old In Flames. You guys know what's up. As far as live recordings, In Flames is actually probably one of the better bands for that. Maybe not on RUclips, but they have their "Tokyo Showdown" album and then also their live DVD duo that came out w/ like Soundtrack to Your Escape.

The rerecorded version has no balls. The song was perfect just the was it was originally recorded
In re-recording is a miss for me, waiting to hear the holy trinity of the other 3 songs redone. It should be... interesting.
It's funny with In Flames how the ignorant has always screamed sellout. Remember when I listened to this at a record store the clerk said they've become "too poppy" compared to the first album. Loved this, loved the albums that came after even when they changed their sound on Reroute to Remain. Not as big a fan today but they still make som great songs.
Hell yeah, more early In Flames! You should listen to the album version from The Jester Race too. Hell, just react to that whole masterpiece album!

Album version on The Jester Race, to me, is much better, but this is still good and raw.
I like both versions of this song but I think anders' vocals match better in the one on the jester race. What singer is this? A guest vocalist? Old school In Flames is best.

The singer is Henke Forss from the Black metal band Dawn on the main E.P

the jester race version is better in my opinion
The original Subterranean EP is amazing,but the added songs from the 2014 reissue on side two are bad.
The covers of Metallica Eye of the beholder and Iron Maidens Murders in the rue morgue (With Anders friden as a guest) are just terrible

Isn't that the singer from dark tranquility on this one? Anyways it's sad they went from this beautiful harmony of amazing riffs to this cold ugly mechanically boring sound. THEY SHOULD CHANGE THEIR FUCKING NAME.
