Having beaten this game a few weeks ago, I’ve been listening to this pretty much every day since then. Honestly one of my top 10 favorite games. I’m very passionate about Octopath 2, and listening to this medley makes me very emotional at times.
I went into this game sneak peeking all base character themes, picking the character that had the best music. I ended up with Ochette, with Agnea's theme as a close second (I really like folk). When I reached Ochette's final chapter I nearly flipped when I realised that that the themes were woven into the boss tracks. Once I drew close to Agnea's finale my hopes were pretty high, although I had gotten pretty used to the idea at that point. Then it turns out the folk song got a full version. It sticks out, but my god is it uplifting. Needless to say, I absolutely adore this game's OST. Not a single track is a miss. Thanks for taking the initiative on making a vid like this. Precisely what I was searching for.
Such a shame Agnea's song of hope is such a special case, but I get it, putting it with the others kinda throws the whole thing off, and hey, in a way it's because of this vast distinction that makes these 8 better than the last 8.

can I suggest a version where its: *Song of Hope at the very start until the very last sustain note -> very start of Ochette -> proceed as normal [CTOPTH] + Normal?* I thiiiiiiiiiink that might work. Either that or *OCTOPTH -> Song of Hope -> Normal* Though I feel the first suggestion might work a bit better.
Well I don't have the project file anymore so I won't be able to move around stuff easily unless I remake it from scratch. But I could try song of hope at the start just to see what it's like.
@@atew8277 there is no wrong or right order because nowhere in Octopath 2 does it play all their themes in succession, not during Vide and not during Galdera, unless you’re following the OCTOPATH anagram name thing then ok, but I still like the other version
@@cubeofmeat4982 Actually, based on the order of Support Skills, Ochette would be first and Throné would be third. The support skills go in order of Hunter, Apothecary, Thief, Scholar, Merchant, Dancer, Cleric, and then Warrior. This order is different than the first game.

I'd make one if:
1. I knew how to make music
2. I had any sort of knowledge on music theory
3. I had the required programs to make music

Yeah, I was also thinking of a version with in pursuit of hope but I don't think it has enough oomph to it for journey's end.
