- The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) is constructing a new bridge over the Saaka Swamp on the Kaliro-Pallisa Road.
The bridge is expected to be completed in January 2025 and will replace the heavily dilapidated crossing.
The new bridge is expected to boost agricultural trade and investment, improve access to markets, healthcare, and education, and reduce the number of accidents.
The bridge is being constructed by Arab Contractors Uganda Ltd. UNRA's In House Supervision Team is overseeing the project.

UNRA start building four lanes
In this scenario four lanes is unnecessary due to low traffic volumes on this road. Roads are designed according to traffic volumes
This company must awarded contracts for urban areas especially kampala because this is beyond quality

Good work so far. Cant wait to drive through. So does this mean ghe entire stretch between pallisa and kaliro will be upgraded to tarmac?
Thank you for the positive feedback.
Pallisa Kaliro will be an independent project from this ongoing construction.

The roads in Uganda a very small to accommodate the traffic, why dose government plan to build big roads which at least can accommodate 4 vehicles at the sometime, the old plan of 2 lines is old fashion only can be considered to be used as service roads in developed countries.
What is better a bridge or a road over this swamp???😅
This is very good but what about Kampala Jinja road, the road is terrible
The project is still in negotiation phases hopefully it will commence by end of this year according to secretary to treasury
Why are u still making narrow roads of 1960s in obotes regime
