Great vid Jake! Im an old man, but a novice at flintknapping. Always learning from guys like you. Much respect for this art. Just ordered that big bobber today. Been wanting it for a while. Thumbs up!!
I made a trip to the flint river a while back use to get 3 or 4 five gallon buckets in a few hours not so easy any more I am doing more and more pressure flaking to stretch my flint😊
I'd like to know where I can get some George Jasper material I'm doing a little flintknapping and would love to get a little bit of the Georgia Jasper to work with
That stuff flakes wonderfully! I might have to figure out where i can rockhound some lol i just made my first successful trip to get some GA coastal and loaded up good. Id love to mess with some of that stuff though. Is that raw or already heat treated? It flakes so well im guessing it may be but i dont see any signs of it
@@GulfCoastKnapping that's awesome. I'll have to study up on my geology in sure even if I can't find stuff just like that if it doesn't flake as well I'd heat treat it. That color is beautiful but I just want something decent to knap more than anything 😂 all I have is freeze cracked quartz where I am but I'll make day trips after doing my research
Do you collect all your cherts your self or purchase? I personally have never purchased, but I live in an area where chert is readily available almost everywhere.
Everyone should see one of those at least once. I did the camp out thing a few times, but here locally at Overland Wooldridge Mo. I think it was the Osage knap in?
That is a big beautiful by face. I can’t wait to see what you end up making out of that I love big stuff.
Nothing like knowing your craft. Exceptional skill set!
Wow, thank you!
