You have just been flint knapping for 3 years?! Holy cow! It must have just totally consumed your attention! Lol With what you have been doing in your videos and the knowledge and skill you display, you would think that you have been doing this for much longer than 3 years! Whewwww! : ) Amazing!

I really appreciate those kind words! I’m closer to 4 years now, but I’ve come to love knapping quite a bit. It’s definitely consumed a decent chunk of my time the past few years! Thank you!

Great video. As always really good information. Those spalls at the end had me itching to hit something. I’m waiting for surgery on my shoulder, so I’m grounded from napping for now😢. I would love to see your take on abrading as well.

Stunning rock! I really wish I had found your channel sooner. Your explanations on platforms and striking angles are the clearest I’ve seen yet on RUclips. I have to wonder what bribe you sent to your supplier? Must have been a fantastic bottle of the good stuff!

The spall you removed at 18:07 would make a killer Snyder point.

Excellent video!! You probably couldnt see but the chalk or cortex was building up and remaing on your hammer, that why those strikes on clean rock wouldnt relese arond 2:55. You could hear the different dull sound. Might have to ocassionally clean hammer with abrader? You got it worked out and did more than justice to that stone! Thanks for all your info and hints, incredible skill, and knowledge. Excited to see ur videos. Learning so much. IT Amazes me you can thin such a rock with that copper hammer, instead of a 15 lb hammer stone!

Glad you got that fan going, its fucking hot down there, i live in va mountains, and it's stinking hot here. Wish we had that quality stone to knap, even though i can go out in plowed fields here and find lot of artifacts comparatively, the raw material is hard to find, the old quarries they used are only in certain places, or some old dumping places for mining or high on top of mountains

This is kinda like fishing one more cast then fish for 10 more minutes. Say your going to stop and work 10 more minutes.
