Hi guys thank you for another fun video! I want to give you a quick cooking tip. When you make pancakes or grilled cheese, cook with a low temperature. They won’t burn and they will taste better. Love what you are doing up there, stay safe 😊
Some of the negative comments on y’all’s videos are pretty wild. The nerve some people have 🤡🤡 I’m commenting to let you two know that I’m super impressed by how you two are doing and I love being able to share little snippets or your lives. Keep it up! Hope you got to get some sun in the last couple of days ❤
Finding your channel was an accidental find! And now my husband and I are hooked. Both of you are very brave to do this especially when you take the boat to explore the island. Can’t wait to view the next video. Take care and be careful always. From Tustin CA❤
@@Claysanabus I can imagine that it is really good to see a little sun. My wife and I we on Vancouver Island the last couple weeks visiting our daughter and grandsons. We had some nice weather at first then rain nearly every day. How was that windstorm on the 19th and 20th up there? We had trees down, ferries cancelled and power outages in the southern part of the island.
It should be good crabbing off the Dock. Crab in the bay can be up to 90 ft deep. Set the trap with a Salmon head Zapped tight on the floor in the center. There has been Halibut caught off the Docks also! Lings in Bruin Bay! Go gettem!
I met a fellow at a party one night years ago, who did caretaking at a Cariboo hunting lodge on the Ungava peninsula, when it was closed down for the winter. It sounded like a dream job to me, but I guess you really need to consider just how well you could cope with being alone, and the elements. There was a time I would have jumped at the chance to do something like this, but I'm too old now. But it is great to watch you guys doing what you are.
I have done a six month stint as a winter caretaker on a very remote island for a great couple , it was a great experience I learned a lot about myself back then and even though I am at retirement age I would do it again in a heart beat , the biggest thing for me now is keeping warm and dry , keep the wood stove going and lots of split wood at the ready !
Great pictures again. And you sparked some great old memories I have of standing on a beach staring at the forest for a bear that had torn thru our canoes and belongings after going for a hike. You remember the cold, scary things that happen more than the sunny days and cherish the memories. That is why I keep going back out for more adventure. Thanks for the video.
Another good week. Weren't we lucky to miss the 'bomb cyclone'! Down here in Rivers Inlet it was calm, sunny, very little swell. I took my dogs to our usual beach expecting it coukd be a crappy boat ride!......it was great.
We love, love, love your videos! The closeups, and scenery. You both are so brave to be on such an adventure, far away from help if needed. Wow. On the other side of the country (NS) here. Our evening weather would talk about the big storm out there. We couldn’t help but wonder how you both were. Be safe!
I'm really enjoying your weekly updates.....I find myself randomly thinking about how your week is going. I'm curious about taking the gun on most travels, do you have any Bear Spray as an alternative? Stay positive and keep up the great team work.
Hey guys thank you so much for the wonderful videos. I'm looking forward to them every week. You two are sweethearts!!! The weather is certainly getting some rough action lately. Been thinking of you guys through the rough weather and hoping all is well. Stay safe guys. Oh, and Matt when Emilie says there's a big bear close by....don't stop to put your camera up. Scared me!!! As Emilie was getting scared. Stay safe you two.
I could watch this all day! I was wondering how you guys fared during the big storm (bomb cyclone). I am in WA state and we lost power for 3 days. Lost part of our fence and a downspout. Thank goodness for our wood burning fireplace. Our town tied for second place on the highest winds during the storm (74 mph). We live at the foot of Mt Rainier, near Crystal Mountain ski resort. I did think about you, and wondered how bad it got there. Thank you for putting out such stunning content!
Hey! We were super surprised that we missed the cyclone, can’t believe how much damage it brought! Next week we show a lot more of the storms and snow! Thanks for the support and kind words 🤗🧡
I have been watching(and re-watching) your videos over the past couple of weeks. I am INVESTED. I do this same sort of thing just on a much smaller scale in Colorado. I hope to have a go at something even more remote like this next season. P.S. If you brought a bag of some sort(computer bag) the strap could be made into a sort of sling. You got this!
Those little pelican kayaks are fun, we have two of them. I use to take my German shepherd in the cockpit with me. But be careful if you capsize, tricky in rough water. I found them hard to get out of with gear on, as the sides are slippery and there is nothing to grab onto upside down. I usually run a rough rope from stem to stern as an emergency extraction tool. Cheer's H
Glad to see you two having a GREAT Time... Have you tried setting your crab trap in the bay at the lodge?? Looking at my Navionics the depth is bang on there.. 60-40' of water should be good... Good Luck
Hi! Amazing Videos, you are Sharing. Know we Live right across from you lol well In Labrador City! Labrador! We was watching the massive 'bomb cyclone'! that hit Vancouver Island, well we thought they must have had to evacuate, the Camp must be gone after watching the news and watching the RUclips channel for anything at all! Glad you missed it Stay safe! From use In Labrador you must take the drive in 2025 to check out all of Labrador! From Dave Labrador City!
If you two do something like this again in the future , eye protection , clear for splitting wood and general day to day , blue for sunshine shine , and yellow for flat light or night time and out on the ocean in rain and flat light , really helped me over the years .
Another great video. So sorry about your drone. You have taken beautiful footage with it. Hopefully the winter isn’t too bad for you both. It’s cold and 20cm snow here in Calgary this weekend, but the sun shines brightly almost every day. Keep safe
i was watching the news here in the lower mainland talking about the weather bombs hitting our bc coast.. i was thinking about you guys hoping you weren't getting pummeled by those crazy high winds and waves
LED lights, if available, will double as grow lights. I use small powerful LED shop light bars to start my plants in the spring. It looks like your kitchen lights are likely fluorescent but if LEDs put your plants close to them. A therapy light would do the same if you have one. Just throwing out ideas for ya. LOL
Yummy sitca black tail in November like a German shepherd except tasty...not to wreck the party but can't you harvest that dear with afore mentioned bow??
Too short! lol... In my opinion, fades > swipes and did you think that the fight was rigged or just sad...stay positive enjoying your adventure down here in Tennessee.
Do you check the marine channel for the weather? Small craft warnings or heavy seas? I'm glad you have a sturdy lodge to be tucked inside. I laughed at the mugs you guys were using. I want coffee hot if I'm gonna bother drinking outside. And gloves to keep my hands warm. Too bad about the drone, you've gotten some great videos up there. Carry on 😊
No the water won’t freeze, it doesn’t get that cold here! Parts high north closer to Alaska it would, maybe! Unfortunately we can’t take the boat out of the water, so we cross our fingers that it will be okay 😂
lovely photos. I found the back and forth to the pink sky very jumpy and distracting... to the point I stopped watching to write this note be fore watching the rest... It is meant to feel like an old slide projector? As a viewer I would prefer dissolves or an more seamless begining .
The seedlings are too leggy, id prob restart some. The tall ones won’t be strong enough to produce. You need to lower the light or raise the seed trays, but I’m not sure how that would work with a heat lamp…it could be a fire hazard?

I am in awe of everything yall are sharing. I love all of it. ❤🙌
Hallo from South Africa! Really good "intro" in this weeks video. Great caretaking so far!
Super editing of incredible footage. Very nice
I can see how much you appreciated the little sun you were able to get. It was fun for me to see the deer. Thank you for this video.
It’s so nice to have a bit of sunshine even on a short day!

Thanks for sharing that story, I can see how that would be a memory you'd cherish!😀

Thank you for the kind words and for your concern! We fared pretty well considering how hard Vancouver island got hit!
I'm really enjoying your weekly updates.....I find myself randomly thinking about how your week is going. I'm curious about taking the gun on most travels, do you have any Bear Spray as an alternative? Stay positive and keep up the great team work.

😊👍🏻💕

We are so glad you enjoy our videos. Great idea and thanks for the tip about the computer bag strap!
Sad to hear about your drone, another great video, the adventure continues, thank you. Happy Thanksgiving Matt and Emilie!
Thank you so much! We appreciate the kind words and we hope you have a happy Thanksgiving too!

😂I am really loving your posts..thank you..your photography is great..thank you..❤
Looking fabulous! Keep the video's coming! Wish one could visit you two with coffee and cake😂
Haha that would definitely be a treat! Though we would probably talk their ear off 😂 we will have to transition to society slowly
Glad to see you two having a GREAT Time... Have you tried setting your crab trap in the bay at the lodge?? Looking at my Navionics the depth is bang on there.. 60-40' of water should be good... Good Luck
We haven’t! Only because some of the fishing guides told us that this area never brought any good ones! We should try though, we have the time 😂
They may have said that for a reason….

We got pretty lucky with the storm missing us this time around but I am sure we will see more storms like that this winter! Thanks for the kind words!
Crazy weather. Stay safe!

Thanks, it was a bummer! We have been lucky to not get too much snow yet!
Another amazing video. ❤
The mushrooms are becoming my favorite thing to see!
That buck looks well fed! Lol Do you guys sneak him grains??
Look forward to your post every week. It was 39 degrees C in Melbourne yesterday. Am wiring you 20 degrees immediately! Stay safe!
Haha you guys have it rough in the heat, it’s definitely a welcome change here! We will be waiting for that wire for a while though i think!😝

I named the little buck Tinker 😊
Too bad about the drone. You used it really well. Maybe Santa will drop one off if you are good 😜
Our letters to Santa have been sent 🙏🏻😂
Yummy sitca black tail in November like a German shepherd except tasty...not to wreck the party but can't you harvest that dear with afore mentioned bow??
Yep 😂 em said to not hunt those ones
Just thought of a name for the deer stew😂
You guys are doing amazing, just curious what happens if there is a serious medical event?
Too short! lol... In my opinion, fades > swipes and did you think that the fight was rigged or just sad...stay positive enjoying your adventure down here in Tennessee.
Haha, the first two fights were more entertaining. Definitely felt like it was rigged 😆🥴
And at 7am the next day you were pissed off at having watched the Tyson fight. 😂😂😂
Yes, definitely disappointed that we spent our time watching that 😂 haha
Do you check the marine channel for the weather? Small craft warnings or heavy seas?
I'm glad you have a sturdy lodge to be tucked inside.
I laughed at the mugs you guys were using. I want coffee hot if I'm gonna bother drinking outside.

Too bad about the drone, you've gotten some great videos up there.
Carry on 😊
We mainly use the Windy app to keep an eye on the weather but that is a good idea, we will look into that! Thanks for the kind words!
Hello from Masset. I don't know you but I've been watching how you're making out over there at Port Louis. You're doing okay
Thanks Mike! We are doing good over here! Hope you are doing well over in Masset since the last storm!
You two should ask Santa for some ski goggles. Hate to say…they only get more useful.
Haha no kidding! We’ll no better next time 😂
I love our channel. Don't you have anything that needs to be done there other than go on hikes, boat rides and kayaking? 🙂
Sorry to hear about your drone😢
Did you guys bring any paracord? Pinterest has ideas for a rifle sling.
Love the videos...keep them coming!
Thank you for the kind words! We are going to have to look around the lodge to see if there is any extra paracord hanging around!
Will you have to pull the boat out at some point and will the water out there freeze up?
No the water won’t freeze, it doesn’t get that cold here! Parts high north closer to Alaska it would, maybe! Unfortunately we can’t take the boat out of the water, so we cross our fingers that it will be okay 😂

Protect those eyes

ill put $1000 down that it was not his idea to make a vision board
Not to remote for Netflix.😅
😎🥰🧡
The seedlings are too leggy, id prob restart some. The tall ones won’t be strong enough to produce.
You need to lower the light or raise the seed trays, but I’m not sure how that would work with a heat lamp…it could be a fire hazard?
you can transplant the leggy seedlings deeper
Can't he just cold plunge in the ocean?? Is it even going to snow there? No grow lights?? Just go Carnivore.
Cute couple but lose the nose ring. Perhaps trade it out for some kind of face tattoo. More permanent, of course, but of similar natures.
