*Very pleased with **Newest.Technology** the setup , it took a little adjusting on a few of out cameras to keep them from getting a glare at night. Once that was done they looked great! We look forward to adding a few more cameras to our current setup soon!*
I found this two weeks after I just bought the Samson go mic at walmart for $30. In the begining I felt like I wasted my money being impulsive cause I like the Samson brand in general, I got a midi keyboard and some studio monitors from them and they are just great. Then I saw the youtube videos and reviews about this mic and they were old, even from 2013, I felt worst. Then I tried if a few times, I even used it with my phone using the USB to USB-C phone adapter, and it was damn great, then I wasn't feeling bad anymore. And I was like, I need to get high and read again on the internet about this mic! And now I find this video and it is the best one. I think by far it beats the Yeti.
I think the Samson Go Mic sounds the most natural. I own a Blue Yeti which I wouldn't have bought if I've had found this video earlier. I don't think it's worth the extra cost over the Samson Go Mic.
I guessed each one right, also I loved the way you didn't tell which was which until the end! Thanks for the great comparison video! I just ordered the go mic today!
Thanks so much for this review! While it's no doubt the Yeti Pro rocks the top, for its money the Samson Go holds its own amazingly well against the more expensive Yeti! My Blue Snowball recently bit the dust, and I've been searching for comparable atlernatives. I've watched several demo videos on the Go, but seeing this one with a side by side comparison really helped cement my decision. I could afford the Yeti, but I'm just not the level of RUclipsr that requires it - yet. I'm still in the "starter" stage. For now, the Go will suit my needs perfectly fine without denting my wallet. I already have a boom stand, so with an additional pop filter I'll be set, I'm sure. Once again, great job on the review, and thanks again!!
ColossalKiwi I used different computers for USB mics. Then two different audio recorders for lav mics. This wasn't the best example of a controlled experiment, since pre amp would vary, but I think the overall difference i. response of the mics is sill predominant in the result.
Welp, this just confirms that I'm buying a couple Samson Go mics for my on-location shows. I usually bring the Meteor...but that causes so many problems in airport security. I also have the Yeti Pro as well as a MXL Genesis II and the Electro Voice RE20 broadcast mics I use at the radio station. But that Go Mic sounds incredible for it's price and portability. Great video.
Thanks Brian for the reviews and comparison tests. After seeing a several reviews, and now with your wide comparison, I'm ordering a Samson Go, I think it will fit what we need.
1. Yeti Pro 2. Audio-technica lav - does this require any other gear? 3a. Samson Go - what I didn't like about this one was the "mouth noise", like when you hear someone chewing. It could also be described as a crunchiness. 3b. iPhone lav - cleaner, less crunchy, but voice itself doesn't sound as good 5. Webcam
B and D both seem lagged. I'm guessing this is an artifact. By the way, I SUPER like that you get show us in a blind test first. Super useful. I'd recommend making this clearer in the title (or thumbnail), since it's a really good up point, of your video, I reckon.
Samson Go mic sounds a lot better than the Yeti Pro in this side by side comparison although the the Generic iPhone lav is very similar. Are the audio files edited?
Too late for my purchase but I did choose the right mic for my purpose. The samson go. Pleased with myself (smug) . Thanks for a really very helpful review.
Great, thanks. Really good comparison and the clear loser seems to be the webcam mic. I wondered how my recent purchase of Samson go would stack up with these others and I'm I got it.
Hi, I'm thinking about buying the Samson Go Mic for recording conversations and/or discussions, but I do have two questions which I hope you or anyone here can answer. Can the Samson Go Mic be connected to a mobile/cell phone via Mini-USB to Mini-USB cable? If so, are there any minimum requirements/limitations as to what the phone must have or should be capable of? Thanks for reading and hopefully in advance for answering.
did you have editing on the sounds or was it in edited. the Samsung go mic sounded awesome in my opinion, not as good as the yeti of course but that's a given.
Error4-07-99 no editing on any of the wav files. I probably should have normalized the loudness, which I did not do, but hopefully you all still hear the differences in response. Thanks for watching!!
+Stephen Petrock Thanks! After some research and review-reading, the Go Mic seemed like a great one to try out. Not disappointed in the quality at all, and the form factor is going to make it my go-to travel mic.
I just got the Audio-technica ATR3350 and I wan't really impressed with the quality. I found the "sweet spot" between extra mic gain and other options later on though. From your review I can that even though the Yeti sounds really good and gives you a deeper voice, the ATR3350 it's good value for the buck. Im glad I didn't go for a generic brand lavaliere.
I actually myself have the Samson Go Mic and recognised which one was it before you even showed :D i think it's about a year or half a year and i recommand it price/quality.
+Joe Galliera Great question! I was using the Yeti Pro for the introduction. I am using Yeti Pro with the stereo XLR, but have found the same quality in USB mode -- check out their comparison here: bluemic.com/blog/2011/08/which-to-choose-yeti-or-yeti-pro/
Btw, for the better sound quality on c920, try to change audio input format from 16khz to 32khz. There will be a little difference, but you will notice it.
It was pretty obvious that the two best ones B and D were the Samson and the Blue Mic. I was surprised just how good the Samson sounded in comparison to the Yeti given how cheap it is in comparison. The Blue is obviously the best sounding, however, on a budget, it sounds like the Samson is a great option. Good test.
Yeti sounds great, it has very low noise flor (self noise & picked up one). It's only one of those ready to go without pop filter. Samson sounds great for the price it does need a pop filler & there is a bit of noise but totally tolerable. Rest is not worth of even mentioning.
WOW that yeti pro is some kinda nice :) I am surprised at the quality of the Samson Go. For sure the best bang for the buck.. Thanks so much for your review. I can say you have indeed helped me decide on a mic.
*Funny enough, Generic iPhone lav did best, followed by Samson Go. Cound not tell them apart. The rest is crap. AT 33550 is nice, needs post prod. EQ / Exciter tho*
I’ll be hearing “Thanks Tomas” on repeat for the rest of my week now
Omg, yes. I STARTED GETTING VERY ANOYYED BY IT!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Glad that I have a Samson Go
Sentient Anomaly can you message me

Can I use samson go mic for singing on mobile phone via smule Android app???

yeti pro and samson go sounds alike and the best quality but i prefer samson go mic because yeti cost alot sompared to samson

This review convinced me to buy the Samson Go - thank you!
The Yeti Pro wins, but the Samson Go Mic is incredible for this price.
im am so happy i copped this lil samson go 4 years ago. Still with me. great ass mic.
*Very pleased with **Newest.Technology** the setup , it took a little adjusting on a few of out cameras to keep them from getting a glare at night. Once that was done they looked great! We look forward to adding a few more cameras to our current setup soon!*
Very good side by side, Brian! I've been using the Samson Go Mic for years and I like so much it's performance.
Cheers from Buenos Aires, Argentina!
Both Samson Go Mic and Yeti Pro sounds nice, and Yeti picks up more bass.

The Samson go and yeti sound just about the same, I have the go and it's fantastic
Very nice video, I've been using the Samson Go Mic for a while and was debating an upgrade to the Yeti for a colleague. Thanks Tomas!
Can I use this for singing on mobile phone via smule Android app???
Wow! Pretty easy to pick out the Yeti Pro, but how about that Samson Go Mic? Half the cost, 1/4 the size, and it sounds great!
Uhm Go Mic is 40 bucks and Yeti Pro is 240, Yeti pro is six times the cost :D
Loved the audio from Samson go!
Nice video. That Samson Go is a keeper! How did you go about recording all of the different mics at the same time? Especially the two USB mics?
ColossalKiwi I used different computers for USB mics. Then two different audio recorders for lav mics. This wasn't the best example of a controlled experiment, since pre amp would vary, but I think the overall difference i. response of the mics is sill predominant in the result.
Wow blown away with how good the Samson Go Mic sounds
Samson Go 02:21
Yeti Pro 02:49

My Yeti went bad after two years :( thankfully the Samson Go is a good alternative to hold off :)
Yeah mines just went bad literally while I recording everything was distorted and shitty
Samson Go mic sounds a lot better than the Yeti Pro in this side by side comparison although the the Generic iPhone lav is very similar. Are the audio files edited?
Thank you for do this clip.
This is the best review . It's reason to me for buy Samson Go mic .
Go mic is a little tiny piece of metal, almost half the price and sounds as good as a Yeti ? I can even clip that thing on top of my monitor ...
Can I use samson go mic for singing on mobile phone via smule Android app???

Is the Samson good for ASMR?

This is very useful review. Yeti wins but the Samson is a solid second and a bargain. Thanks.
Hello, can u suggest me a microphone for recording ppt lectures from the laptop........ranging from 30 to 50 bucks? Thankyou
Definitely getting the Samson Go! Thank you for the helpful video!

Hey man. Nice video. What is the stand you used for samson mic?
Awesome videos Brian! They're super helpful. Unsurprisingly I thought the yeti was great but I was shocked at how good the samson go mic was.
+Stephen Petrock Thanks! After some research and review-reading, the Go Mic seemed like a great one to try out. Not disappointed in the quality at all, and the form factor is going to make it my go-to travel mic.

The Yeti and Samson go sounded great
Great comparison video.... The Yeti I think is the best but what an awesome deal you're getting with samson's go mic
Dude u didnt like which mic u used while saying each passage

which editor you used to record the audio and what were the settings?
chapter marks?
Great test! That's it, I'm ordering the Yeti Pro right now. I'm blaming you BZ if anyone asks.
Question: which one did you use for the intro?
+Joe Galliera Great question! I was using the Yeti Pro for the introduction. I am using Yeti Pro with the stereo XLR, but have found the same quality in USB mode -- check out their comparison here: bluemic.com/blog/2011/08/which-to-choose-yeti-or-yeti-pro/

Good test.
Samson sounds better
The Samson Go Mic gets my vote. I want to review one on my channel!
Did you mount the Samson Go on a Tripod? Is that possible?
Nanogalaxy yes , but it has a larger mount hole than typical
Yeti sounds great, it has very low noise flor (self noise & picked up one). It's only one of those ready to go without pop filter. Samson sounds great for the price it does need a pop filler & there is a bit of noise but totally tolerable. Rest is not worth of even mentioning.
Yeti and Samson I have both and like them alot
Perfect comparision. Thanks mate
Muchas gracias por subir este video, me sirvio de mucho!
Thanks for the test!
omg Thomas will be sick in my head lol great vid thanx I was looking at the Samson go
I´m from Argentina, thanks for the review!
Cool! Thanks!
What Setting is the go mic on ??
elko Tv I used -10dB cut, the normal mode clips on me so I watch the light. Using an eye glasses cloth as a wrapped "pop filter" works well
price/ratio yes samson go mic is the best, but the actual best was teh audio technica. but is also considerably more expensive.
samsung sound good enough to vocal actually and it's cheap... but the yeti sounds really great but needs equ(ing) it's too good for voice over....
great test.. thanks!
iPhone wins jajajaja naah, I'm gonna buy samson Go, thannk you men :D
Samson Go hands down!!!!
Great compatation
Thanks for this video! Samson Go it is! #DecisionMade

shortly, samson has much clearer sound and less noise, yeti has more bass.

I can't believe I just bought Logitech pro webcam C920 from amazon cost me 110 bucks. Fml
You never buy a webcam for audio quality... always visual quality, lol
WOW that yeti pro is some kinda nice :) I am surprised at the quality of the Samson Go. For sure the best bang for the buck.. Thanks so much for your review. I can say you have indeed helped me decide on a mic.
you bet, glad it was helpful!
Samson go mic sounds the best
Damn, Samson GO sounds best by a long shot.

I Had From Best to Worst D,B,A,C,E
