    My 05 GCL has been a electrical nightmare but mechanically awesome. The problem is all the new techs cant work on these older rigs because when they cant use all data they were never taught anything else...

    I got my Jeep GC WK Limited, with Hemi 5,7 and Quadra Drive 2 on our parkway. Got it just over a year and can easily see me driving it until it completely shatters. I will be its last owner, that I know, because I absolutely love it. My wife has 2015 Toyota Avensis... a nice car. A good car. Has awesome fuel economy... but still we find ourselves to jump into my Jeep when we leave house, because as awesomely good as that Toyota is, it's just not a Jeep :P Have a like for properly good video!

    I have an 05 with the 4.7 it has 228,000 miles on it I don’t beat it real hard I do my own maintenance on it and it is still strong minus a valve cover seal leak and a lifter noise on the passenger side. Maybe I got lucky.

      wow that's really good for that motor ... i bet the key is that you change the oil when its due

    My wife has a 09 WK 4x2 (unfortunately) with 150k on it, its the v6 and we have not had any problems out of it once so ever. The only disappointment I have with the Jeep is WK aside the other Grand Cherokees can tow 5000lbs with the 6cyl, and the WK can only tow 3500lbs on the v6. Going from the ZJ and WJ's 5000lbs towing capacity to 3500lbs in the WK was just a massive sin, even Jeep realized this as with the WK2 they went back to 5000lbs towing capacity for the v6.

    I have the 4.7 in my Dodge Durango had it for 5 years beat the hell out of it never had no problems with it it does use a little bit of oil every once in awhile not all the time can't figure it out I want a Jeep I don't really pull nothing heavy or nothing do you think I should get the v6 or the hemi

    • @maldo72
      @maldo72  5 лет назад +1

      I prefer the v6 ... if your not doing alot of hauling ...... hemi. Is great but mpg sucks ... and hard to find in good shape ... the v6 trucks are a dime a dozen

    I love my Jeep WK with the 3.0L OM642 that came factory with it, yes it had some electrical gremlins, but still a decent engine nonetheless.

    I actually own one but have had so many issues with it...I have already spent twice on engine and electrical system....engine light never goes away ...I have taken it to 4 different mechanics and I always end up getting the same outcome which is no one can fix it and have already spent too much in it...Either mechanics are worth shit or just had bad luck with the vehicle and is now time to give up on it....I love the look but hate the maintenance I have had with it!

      One year ago engine started leaking oil so in a few days it just stopped driving on highway blowing blue smoke from tailpipe and I always kept oil changes and fluids up to date taking it to firestone every 3 months and I would check fluids every week to make sure everything was fine...so I ended up paying to get it towed to a mechanic shop and I was told engine was no good and it had 185000 miles so anyways I spent $2800 and it only lasted 6 months when again it started loosing power when driving on highway it just felt like stepping on gas was useless and again it was turning off on red lights or every stop and it would make a rattling and knock noise so I took it to another shop who charged me $3500 and was told engine was never changed and that it had damaged valves and pistons so either I was ripped off twice with mechanics that saw the opportunity to rip me off and did minimum repairs and just left same engine .....next 2 mechanics have told me it is the electrical system and that it also has a blown engine because engine looks used and in really bad shape so I'm at a point where I can't spend any more money on it unless I trust the person doing the job right which I don't mind paying but I have already spent more than twice what the vehicle is worth..I guess now these days people have no morals to lie and steal from a hard working person...I have gone to reputable shops and what I get from them is "what do you expect if you paid for a used engine" .....REALLY

      @@lizzya2869 i know this is very late, but it sounds like the throttle body, and not the engine; it seems those mechanics either didnt know that this type of thing is common on those jeeps, or just ripped you off... hope this helped :(
