Haiti becoming a refuge for Nakia and Shuri in "Wakanda Forever" is such a great scene! Haiti was the first Black free nation within The Western Hemisphere.
And look at where Haiti is now for being a 'free nation'. As much as slavery is awful, the Haitians kicked out the only knowledgeable, intelligent people who were capable of running a country and they have suffered for it ever since.
@@UzumakiNaruto_No thanks to long sanctions that Thomas Jefferson put on them out of fear of influence and forcing them into debt with a now declining economy in France. You should learn about history more
@@TheEasyname23 I have looked into Haiti's history and guess what? Just like every other predominately African nation they're great at turning diamonds into stone. Do you seriously believe that the Haitians could build and create anything on their own without any outside help and then be able to maintain all that infrastructure? Sure they suffered by being servants to people that conquered them, but those same people also brought civilization to them and modern advancements that Haitians could never develop themselves in a hundred years. The bottom line is yes they suffered, but if they and other Africans had any intelligence and humility to learn from those that were more advanced than them, they could be what South Korea, Japan and China became in the past several decades. The people of those nations knew they were far behind western countries and their governments went out and LEARNED FROM THEM rather than wallow in their own pity. Africans have plenty of opportunity to do the same especially when many of them moved to western nations and went to western schools and yet they squander those opportunities at every turn which is most African people are still very uncivilized and backwards to this day.
Spoilers: the context of Nakia's reasoning here is different by the end of the movie. She must have not revealed that T'Challa advised her not to attend the funeral. And she wouldn't miss the chance to have her son honoring his father alone while they had their own ceremony. Ramonda possibly met her grandson before this and was occupied ruling Wakanda from the loss of their king and being there for her citizens, leaving there no opportunity for Nakia to tell her this. When she speaks on how she is a different person - She is a mother now.
@@TheProtagonist2020 Shuri couldn't fight prior to this film, she was smart and had her panther gauntlets but that's pretty much it Nakia worked as an undercover spy and helped out hostages in the first film
It’s like she said she was a spy with no army plus she has a son you can’t expect to take up the mantle and be a mother at the same time sometimes it’s not fair.

I understand the idea, but what I definitely didn't understand is, why of all the countries he could go to she chose Haiti????
The costumes are amazing. Ruth E Carter deserved this oscar.
The costume design for the film was fantastic. Especially for this set that Angela Bassett is wearing in this scene. I want to buy that for my wife
I searched this video specifically looking for this outfit
@@mrschi8159 it’s a beautiful outfit. Regal yet modest
Lupita forever! 😻
Lupita is so unbelievably beautiful. Words fail.
I wish Nakia became black panther instead of Shuri. Lupita Nyong'o is such a good actress.
That doesn’t work.

That's so stupid and makes zero sense, it follows the comics
Everyone knows that Nakia was replacing Storm as T’Challa’s love interest
Does anyone know who made Queen Ramonda’s outfit here?
Ruth E. Carter 🖤
I was wondering the same thing too when she appeared😭 she's exactly how a queen should dress like
I don't speak xhosa.. but nkosi doesn't mean "thank you" at 1:08, or does it?
I thought it was a title like "chief"
Do you think Queen Ramona knew baby boy was her grandson
Anyone knows where I can get that pink dress? 🤩
