I wonder why they choose to portray them this way. In the books Lucifer doesn’t have any antagonism towards Morpheus. In fact during this meeting he’s more contemplative and weary than anything. He actually closes hell and leaves after this encounter.

This is the best depiction of hell I've ever seen in media. It is truly amazing and terrifying. It reminds me something out of a Heronymous Bosch painting from the Renaissance.

This could have been a really sweet scene if the writers had just approached it with some sincerity. Like, I can hear the execs going "yes, this will impress the womenz! Moving on." "But, we've only spent 5 seconds on this-" "I said we have to move on!" She could have approached this as more of a look inside the character while also acknowledging real world struggles for women. Like, "Bruce, I understand you're trying to help me gain some understanding with my powers. But, I have felt everything from insults to horror from so many men. And yet, I still built my life to what it is now. I know you understand when life gets difficult and I have enough difficulties as is without being a superhero." This way we can explore the character's resilience and maturity while begining the character arc of her acceptance for her new role and what comes with it. While pointing to what it's like to be a woman without coming off as patronizing. People at marvel really got to take some time to think.
