Hey guys sorry if you get a ton of notifications for my Train to Busan videos, I had a false copyright strike on my channel for my "Why Train to Busan is a PERFECT zombie movie" and wanted to make sure my channel would be alright. Thanks for understanding and STAY WOW! So I had to reupload this about 23 times in order to appease the copyright system, BUT it sup and ready for your viewing pleasure! Hopefully it doesn't need to be edited any further, but if in the future a scene feels short or weird, its because I had to cut a scene because of further copyright issues. Ill be getting back to why you wouldn't survive and zombie sins content next week! Thanks y'all for your patience, stay wow!~
Maybe a series where You give review to zombie characters from 1-5 where 5 is worth to follow? Any character that will appear at least twice would be counted, but from Your personal perspective as normal human, not brave amazing soldier, You could also do the same about games characters but depending on cutscenes, would be amazing to see it on Your channel ^^ - Just another b*llshit request :D
Can we talk about the conductor? That man risked his life venturing into the unknown by himself to get a train up and running for everyone, and he only died because the first person he saw that needed help happened to be Yon-Suk. Godspeed, Mr. Conductor. You deserved better.
I legit thought it was gonna end with the wife and child being shot by the soldiers and I was like in denial for a couple seconds, luckily they survived for the sake of my happiness.
I dreamt of the usa zombie plan being used. It didn't work. The zombies kept coming. Anyways they were possessed not really zombies a rebuke of "the blood of Jesus is against you" work and that's all. Love y'all all. Remember this plan don't work go the Christian route. It's not really zombies just looked like it. Love y'all
I love how the daughter and pregnant lady "the easiest targets" were the ones who survived showing the payoff of the sacrifices the dad and the husband did , showing a sense of love and responsibility towards the most important people in their lives. Your review was spot on and incredibly well done!!
My main takeaway from this review is the reflection on Korean culture, also some other layers I didn’t notice, such as the MC and assistant pulling funds, potentially help starting the disaster. Also, about how the younger generation are the first ones to deal with choices made by the older generation. But a point made in this video is about the cultural view of protecting the group over the individual. With this in mind, it makes sense that the “good” characters sacrificed themselves for the most vulnerable, which is the pregnant woman and also a small child. I absolutely adore this movie and this is a very well thought out video.
@@Brook_55 it wasnt. The death scene was very selfish of the old lady. "Hey these people are scared out of their mind but but my sister is there and I really dislike this younger generation i guess so I'l just kill em all" How tf is that sad? Thats just ageavating.
Good directors get good performances out of their actors. Great actors transcend bad directors. If the girl continues to give great performances, then it was her.
Mac Mcleod the director could’ve been the best in the world, but it can be difficult for children as young as her to act believably (especially in a film like this) and be able to follow that direction in a way that creates such a great performance. Whatever the circumstances were she did amazing, if she continues acting I bet she will be great
@@graveserpent I've watched a lot of movies and I've noticed some directors consistently get good performances out of actors. And I've noticed some actors consistently deliver good performances regardless of the director.
Renoir Kim hey do u have the names of any of those movies? Just wondering cause I’m really bored with the social distancing in my country and could use some good movie recs! Also love your profile pic ARMYs unite lol!!
the fact that there's going to b a US remake... makes me wanna jump out a window the US needs to come up with their own ideas like im not watching a subway to Brooklyn
Wait, what? Oh boy, I'm gonna come with you then. This movie is already perfect, I don't need the US ruining it, I'm gonna start swearing like a sailor in my native language
Seriously though, even if the US keeps making asian movie remakes, i still watch the asian versions, specially the horror ones... (also because I'm asian and most horror films are directly tied to the supernatural and supertisions that western countries can't relate to) The US need better original content
When the little girl was crying "Don't go! Don't go!" while holding on to her dad, I started crying and then the dad started crying too and I cried even more 😭

And damn this comment blew up. *Jim camera stare*
llYorFav1ll Ik he was one of the best characters well honestly there were not bad characters even that one selfish person he was made to be a bad character and he did it perfectly
I cried when the MC, moments before his transformation, with the last bit of his free will, thinks back to one of the happiest moments of his life: the birth of his daughter. Then he lets himself fall off the train, sacrificing himself to keep the others safe -- from himself. I then cried again when his daughter began singing that song.
When the daughter starts singing it took me a while to realize why(or at least what I thought) and what came to my mind was that his father told her to never let things incomplete.
@@Raudymuch she said that the first time she couldnt sing because he was not there. When he got bitten he said to her he would always be there in her heart, that's why she could finish the song in the end.
Yeah, there's only so many happy endings one can take though. It's like the game trope that raycevick talked about. Saving the world, you can only do that so many times before it becomes routine, stale, and you get bored. That's why i like games from Yoko Taro, and in recent times, Hideo Kojima with Death Stranding. Because the story and ending isn't entirely a happy one. It's more bittersweet. And with Yoko Taro, his stories are sometimes just downright fuckin' depressing. But that's what i like about him, his stories aren't always happy endings and "oh we saved the world, happy day!" Like no, it's much darker and i like that because it's a little more realistic and compelling.
You can still choose to be a decent human being regardless of flaws. No matter the situation, the most dangerous enemy in a bad situation is human beings. If you're ever stuck in something like this, it'd be wise to purge the selfish first thing after relative safety has been established.
@@robbobbrah8953 too bad it's easier to say than to do as someone who has been on a dangerous situation before(was in a riot), i swore to myself to save others before and during said time but when in the moment, all i could think of is to save myself and can't do anything beside screaming preemptively for the people near me to run. Heck, i believe i even pushed some people out of my way i wish it's that easy to be that action movie badass
let’s also take a breather and think about how gong yoo (the actor of the father who died in the end) acted in a separate romance drama called goblin in that kdrama he had to watch his own movie in the cinema and got so scared 😭😭😭 it was so hilarious
Saddest death scenes: 1- The father 2- The husband of the pregnant lady 3- The highschool couple 4- The old lady sisters 5- The homeless man 6- The train conductor bc he was pure :(
He did tell his daughter that she should have finished the song, and she replied that she couldn't because you were not there. He responded even if you don't see me I am always watching. Or something along those lines. I just watched it for the first time a couple nights ago with my wife.
The performance of the little girl absolutely gutted me. She is an amazing actor. Every time I watch this movie, I bawl like a baby for the last 10 minutes.
Tsar Kataline Despite her being a blatant bitch and honestly kinda evil, I always liked her character to a degree. Like, she's a woman in a position of power, and young little me thought that was pretty neat.
Bailing from the cart If you said that in any other comment section thousands of incels would call you a feminist idiot. (I’m not calling you that just so I’m clear)
Phoenix Chase Shh! Don’t summon them! I don’t want them to attempt to ruin this movie by claiming that the zombies are a metaphor for feminism destroying the good men and their subservient wives or some other bullshit.
My favorite character in this film was "Mister" the homeless man. He does panic and crack several times. But when it counts, he helps save many characters. And in the end, throws himself to his death, to save people he hardly knew. He in my mind had one of the best and most honorable deaths in the film.
I was actually going to mention him myself! He definitely stepped up at the end and showed true character that, until he died to save others, we weren't sure he had.
I also liked the highschool students the boy stayed, even at the last moment you can see that he loves the girl he sacrificed himself bc he knew he cannot live on without the girl
That child actor, oh my gosh, she was amazing! Her crying at the end and screaming "kajima" (don't go) had me bawling! I felt every ounce of emotion in her voice 😭
It actually made me cry, we watched it in our classroom (in sixth grade) i didn't expect to cry, i was just staring but the heck, i started dripping tears as my seatmate bawled
Everyone had flaws, and that made them feel like real humans not scripted characters. The baseball couples were naive. The mc father was selfish. The blue jacket father was- Who am I kidding he was perfect.
The blue jacket father’s only flaw was that he was too nice and caring; traits that in an apocalypse will get you killed. Look out for yourself and then for others even if the others are your own friends and family at least you’ll mourn them.
I started crying when the dad jumped off the train so he wouldn't infect the others. I also started crying when the pregnant woman and the child were the only survivors and they started weakly singing. Train to Busan is heart wrenching and terrifying.
The guy who acted the selfish man is really humorous who commented that yeah, he hated his own character himself and introduced himself as the one who acts the asshole haha
@@melodyseverything6999 Take Jack Gleeson or Iwan Rheon, who both played magnificent bastards in Game of Thrones. Both are absolutely great funny blokes in real life.
Actors are intended to deliver a convincing and entertaining performance, despite what type of character they’ve been given; not one actor should be categorised with one character type, as that’d be limiting them.
To be fair he did that just to see his mom, before he turns into a zombie he asked the father to see if his mom is ok, he throw others away just see his mom.
The granny sisters' story progression hit hard. Like damn, in the time of need, you'll really see the true faces of some people. When she started talking about her sister, I was like, No. Then she stood up I was like, No way. When she opened the door I was 😳
that was very selfish of her. She killed everyone who was terrified out of their mind cuz she felt "Oh these people dont deserve to live. How dare they want to live and think somewhat reasonably that the main cast might be infected"
Selfish it may be, but people who are hurt make stupid choices. True, some people there are mostly just paranoid but I guess the granny only saw how inconsiderate those other people were and she then decided to choose violence.
@@johnynoway9127 That is an issue. But it's an issue on perspective. They see her as the hero because she killed the people who didn't care about the group of main characters. Those people are just scared, and that fear drove them to do something that seemed irrational to us as viewers but seemed rational to those peoples' perspective. The old woman isn't a hero, she's just like those other people on the train, selfish and only thinks that she is right. If anything, those people on the train she killed think of her as a monster. So yeah, it all depends on the perspective.
This movie is even better cause half the time the military I either “kill on sight no matter what” or they are useless and even though these soldiers were told to shoot on sight they actually cared when they could tell it wasn’t zombies
Chronic42069 it’s the baby’s name because when the couple is first introduced the pregnant wife just refers to the baby as “Sleepy” because the father had yet decide on a name for the baby yet, so before he dies he tells his wife what he wants the baby’s name to be
@Renata I know I'm late to reply but I have no idea where you got that info from lol Su-yun is literally the most common & generic baby girl name in Korea, like the Korean equivalent of 'Kate' or 'Ashley'
That’s the one part of this whole movie that gets to me. Their ordeal could’ve been prevented if the guard had been watching who enters the train with complete sight of the station instead of only half, from the position he was facing.
But remember...it wasn't his fault either. Many wouldn't have survived the quarantine scene, as well as some other parts. I feel like some survived out of luck, using the example of the survivors. If those men weren't stopping the glass doors, they wouldnt be in the back car of the train trying to save survivors. And because of this, they survive the attempt of the old woman opening the door. Im sorry I wrote so much😭😭I just watched this movie for the third time and its so awesome
The injured woman stumbled onto the train at a sprint (and I think she like slapped the side of the door as she went in too) so you'd almost think the guy was deaf to not hear her
When the Selfish Guy slowly turned, I really felt him. He was definitely born into riches, he was well-connected, if there was a problem, he threw money at it, or pulled strings to get out of it. In the apocalypse, none of that mattered, there was absolutely nothing he could do once he got bit. For once in his life, he couldn’t get out of it, and as it dawned on him, he seemed to lose his willpower and let it take him.
@@ProbablyPissedYouOff not saying he didn’t deserve it, he should have suffered a *lot* more for all he did. Just that the feeling of helplessness was one I identified with quite a lot, especially as a student. ;-;
The part that really made my eyes tear up the most was when the little girl grabbed onto her father’s sleeve begging him to not leave her behind. That shit hurt my soul. Like I felt that anxiety. It hit harder when the father started crying with his daughter, he tried to put on a brave face for his daughter but he couldn’t once he fully let his fears and anxiety set in. That made it feel so real for me.
If you think that homeless folks aren't helpful to just about everyone. Go meet a homeless person because you are so incredibly wrong. I would trust my life to the homeless way before I would trust my wallet to a guy in a expensive suit.
Oh yeah if ever the rich asshole tries to take control because of their ego, when competence actually matters. Ask them what a gallon of milk costs. If you actually can't even feed yourself without paying someone, you lose the right to even speak in a survival situation.
Why this movie creepy? - they stuck with a zombies inside a moving train and no way out - they are normal peoples not cops or soldiers - they don't have weapons like guns - the zombies are fast
I saw this video, and before getting through the first few minutes, I decided to watch the movie for myself. I just finished it, and I can agree. I wasnt expecting to cry buy, I'm glad I watched the movie for myself
Strange Encounter Honestly though, like.. y’all do not have time to have a full on conversation about your relationship status while hiding in a closet with zombies on the other side.. like shush 🤦🏽♀️
There is a reasonably I’ve been so into the stuff Korea brings out, it be movies, dramas or music..... they are doing smth good! I’ve gotten sick of the Hollywood/usa stuff the world beliefs “is the best” bc to be honest it is not..... Ive come to the discovery that I tend to like dramas/series from England more than those from USA too! Also, the whole “America is great” thing is waaaayyy too prominent in their stuff.
Su-An losing his father definitely made me cry real tears, but Su-An singing the song that he wanted to sing for his father.... I can't, it is too heartbreaking
If someone says that they almost cried when the Asian rock got bit, they're lying You bawl your eyes out and question how the universe is so cruel and what you're doing with your life
Not true because I didn't cry you cant just say that because we are all different to each other you cant enforce your reactions on every body because we all are different please think about what you say before you say it.
I went into this movie thinking it was just going to be another zombie movie but I ended up choking and tearing up at the end. This is a movie well-done!
same, I thought it was another typical zombie movie but I was bored and watched it anyway. It took me by surprise how well written and directed this movie was
There's this one scene that really made me like the characters more, when they were going through carts fighting the zombies and got into the baseball friends that are infected, the husband and our mc (main character) knew what our baseball teenager feels and they understand why he's frozen
The one thing that gave me the most fear from TTB was when him and his mom talk one last time, and he gets to hear her transform into a zombie in real time That just absolutely broke my heart and, as someone who almost never cried while watching a movie, I nearly cried. Just thinking about seeing someone I'm close to, like my mom, suffer a fate as terrible as that Just pains me.
Spoiler Alert: The saddest part of this film was after Gong Yoo got bit and was telling his daughter to stay on the train with the pregnant woman as she holds on to his arms telling him not to go, crying hysterically but then he smiles briefly before leaving her..... That alone is sad enough but take into account that his daughters whole life he felt more like a guardian than a father..... Su-an never got along with her dad and always wanted to stay with her mother but after saving her life numerous times and seeing her want him to stay so bad it was in that moment he realised that his daughter did in fact need him and he finally felt like a FATHER but it was so short lived as he had to leave before turning 😔
Very very true. And all that could have been avoided if the father didnt put litteraly his hand in the mouth of a zombie!! Well but if that didn't happen he would't feel like a FATHER. Well... Thank god he gave his hand to feed the zombie, or he wouldn't be a FATHER, nor people would cry over his death. In the end It was for best. Also the amount of time that the angry businessman took to turn into a zombie was not for the well being of the plot... at all... since they were running after the train, then kicking zombies, then checking for their well being, the motherfucker is yet to turn and still has time to talk to them. when the film need the infection to spread people turn in less then 5 seconds. Good movie, but not perfect at all
The most heartbroken scenes for me 1.the dad's death 2.The husband of the pregnant woman's death 3.when the kid sang in the tunnel 4.the old woman's death and when her sister was looking at her 5.the homeless man's death 6.the baseball couple's death

Damn zombie movie made me cry.🤦♀️ One of the best zombie movies I've ever seen. I really appreciate the lack of "plot armor" in a movie, show, or book as it makes it more thrilling and realistic. Heroes aren't always the obvious ones. Usually they're the least obvious.
Sanghwa's death is literally the one that always makes me burst into tears when watching this movie. They did his characterization so well that I felt it so much harder when he died than anyone else. He has so much personality for a side character, easily my favorite.
no actually, he WAS infected but Oh Ill nam brought him back to life with his money to make him give out the cards on subways.... tbh, this actor really has something to do with trains

The scene where the husband of the pregnant woman got bit is the only movie scene I've ever witnessed my husband react to besides a quiet chuckle or some dry comment. He didn't even want to see the movie bc it has subtitles. But when that bite scene happened, my husband lurched forward and yelled "NOOOOOOOOO!" with such intensity, it startled me.😅 He got so invested in that character.
I'm a man and this is the only live action movie to ever make me cry the only other media that makes me cry is anime there's just something about this movie that just feels so real just makes everything hit so hard that at the end of the movie I always cry
Bruh I never cry or get scared to a horror movie. But my mom and grandma made fun of me for crying so hard. I'm talking Niagra falls of both snot and tears. 😂💜
speaking of the story coming full circle, i think soo-an singing the song in the end is a callback to the beginning where her dad told her that she should always finish what she started. because she never got to finish the song during her class recital. so i do think that was the perfect way to end the movie :(
It's also the reason the soldiers figured out that they weren't zombies and living people. You see the soldiers hesitate to shoot them thinking they were zombies until she starts singing
That last scene before he throws himself off the train just made me tear up ... just when he realized the value of parenthood and bond with his daughter.. really great zombie movie and actors too ...

This movie had one thing that i always talk about with zombie movies when the zombie apocalypse comes you aren't going to have immediate military like training your body and your mind will be the same you aren't just gonna turn into this hardcore bada$$ who is gonna save the world nobody is spared from the epidemic
Actually I live near a military base that's established by the government because my dad has business and funds the weapons so if there's an apocalypse I'm going to there to get supplies
while i agree with you, you do know that your bodies react to urgencies, right? you actually are going to trigger your flee or fight instinct in an emergency situation like this. so yeah, you don't get stronger, but you basically have a strong blood flow pumping for you to blow a nice punch on a zombie or two.
This wasn't even the actual full movie and I cried. Like, I can't imagine how I looked while watching the full thing. This movie is the best zombie movie I've watched, I can say this with confidence.
It’s even more mind boggling when u realize all this chaos and death happened over the span of one morning and afternoon (the father and daughter board the train in the early morning, before sunrise, then the pregnant woman and daughter walk through the tunnel in the mid afternoon, or even before 12 noon)
currently sitting on my bed with tears streaming down my face and thinking about watcching the actual movie again to become the sobbing mess i was always meant to be
I got more emotional when the main character had to sacrifice him self and we saw those flashbacks and during the ending, but yeah the Asian gorilla rock badass death made tears too ofcourse
I also thought it was symbolic how the only survivors were the ones that embody innocence: children. Of course the woman survived as well, but she was carrying a child
Maybe plot armor because they don't want society to get mad at them because they told the truth that children will be eaten first because they're more vulnerable and replaceable and that's just a fact of biology?! You'll never see movies or video games show children die in a cruel or meaningless fashion. Even if they die in the movie, they still have to make it so that it looks like it has greater meaning than it would've in real life. In real life, everyone forgets you and life has to move on. Thinking about dead people is waste of energy and resources in biology.
I'm not implying that's a good thing. I'm just saying my theory. So, please don't shoot the messenger. If you have counter arguments, please make it actual counter to my argument rather than attacking character or twisting what I said to a thing you could attack easier or focusing on my insignificant errors like grammar or etc just so, you could discredit the whole with parts.
@@somethingawesome1274 Dead space or walking dead never show the actual death. It's one thing to see zombie baby, it's another to see a baby getting tortured while crying its lungs out and turning into a zombie. There is no laws of physics or laws of biology that prevent such a thing from happening, in fact if you look at the cruel nature, the youngs most of the time don't make it to adulthood in almost all the animals. That's not me possibly being wrong, that's just a fact. You are sheltered from reality of it due to modern technology, that's why you have audacity make claims that you would have been laughed at for most of human history. Now, The whole idea of morality is completely subjective too, and it completely depends on from what lens or perspective you were looking at the bigger picture. For example babies getting killed might be good for different species that compete with humans for the same resources, space, mates or they are human prey like chicken, cow and even plants. From my perspective, morality is B.S, the only thing that matters is survival, and human species' survival should be the only thing that matters, but that's a different topic because we can't possibly make everything that exists (not just mammels that look like us) happy, and even if we did that somehow, it always leads to disaster because living beings need challenge and suffering to actually have the will to live and reproduce. (look up mouse utopia experiment and beautiful ones.) You can't defy the laws of physics and the logic of the universe, and don't bring me some unproven nonsense like religion or whatever, because they are subjective opinions that have no basis and are just mostly coping mechanisms to deal with this cruel world, or religion in general is a survival mechanism to help form larger tribes for the same cause to defeat competition. Even if that was not the case, again it's speculation with no proof, therefore investing time and energy on it is pointless while there are so much proven stuff that actually have tangible benefits. let alone even if monotheistic religion was right, there are too many loopholes and questions that need to be explained. So, no! for short answer, there is no basis to prove that there is greater good, but what is proven is that there is greater good bias and hope exists to keep the species moving forward to survive and reproduce. My point is that when movies ignore these things, it make movies less compelling to watch. (like when good guy always wins and etc) But, ngl, some level of hope in movies does not ruin it.
this movie made me cry hard, the emotion in every single scene just felt so surreal, and it doesn’t feel like some cheap movie out there for some cash, it’s raw and full of life, i don’t know what it is about this movie but it’s different, and whatever they did to make it that way is genius, i wish every movie was like this
Madison Anne if all movies were like this train to busan wouldn’t be as ground breaking and amazing. Standards would be way higher up. And if all films were meant to reach a much higher standard then there would be major mistakes for expectations and we’d be right back where we are now. But yea I get your point :( Americans don’t know how to make 95% of the movies that come out... I’ve watched Train to Busan 7 times... and still cry everytime. Most English movies I watch once and just never touch again. This is up there with the lord of the rings movies, the Star Wars prequels, some Alfred Hitchcock and Mel Brook films. Cannot for the life of me understand why Korea is the leader in TV and Movies, but they are doing sooooo much right. AMERICA NEEDS TO TAKE SOME GOD DAMN NOTES.
@DrogbaLegend in a short sentence , Americans main focus is action and they don't add much emotion to it ..... I noticed that since I watch so many American movies (I'm not saying American movies aren't good). Like endgame , infinity war, They didn't add some emotional scenes , only Action. And that's the problem of most American movies (in my opinion)

Years later i still cry just hearing the retelling of events. This movie really is one of the best in history. The fact that its entirely in korean and speaking about korean/east asian culture and is still able to be so deeply touching to someone (a lot of people) who has never set foot in that part of the world (though i would love to and am slowly learning korean in my spare time) is impressive. Everyone on set did an amazing job and the cast worked together so beautifully, their chemistry felt like real people interacting and there wasnt one character i was tired of seeing. Yes, even the awful horrible business man. I audibly sighed whenever he came up on screen but it just proves the actor did an amazing job with his portrayal, he felt real and presented a very real threat to our heros. As much as i despise the character for his actions, he was a very needed part of this movie imo. Dont even get me started on Kim Su-an (the little girl playing the mc's daughter). Such a good actress despite her age. Also i had such a crush on Wooshik (the baseball dude) and continue to love him in anything i see him in (the witch, parasite ect.). Such an amazing cast. And a very good re-telling of the story. If I ever need to convince someone to watch this movie im sending them this video. If by some chance anyone watching this havent seen the movie yet, PLEASE go do so. Its so worth it.
I just watched Parasite and then Train to Busan. This past week has really opened my eyes to Korean movies. The main thing I noticed is how deep they go into character development so you actually feel for each main character in the story. It also helps that the movies tend to be longer.

Much of the cast are well-seasoned actors of good repute in the industry. The actor who plays the villain is one of my favorites, Kim Ui-Seong. Sometimes, he can be difficult to recognize because he really DISAPPEARS into his role. Not just some makeup, but his facial expressions, mannerisms, speech, the way he carries himself. I've seen him as a good guy, as a villain, in comedic roles...he's awesome.
I really like how most of the people froze and just watched as everything went down. Like the majority of people do freeze when caught of guard. It was nice to see people just silently stare as zombies are running around attacking people, because they don't know whats going on. A minority bolts on instinct and an even smaller minority actually fight. Also it was cool to see the how much leadership changes how a group reacts. One group is led by a sniveling coward and the other by a brave selfless man and thus the groups adopt their leaders characteristics.
YES I noticed that while watching. This movie made peoples reactions realistic unlike other movies. At first you’d just stare and wonder what’s happening, maybe a couple of people would do something but most wouldn’t know what to do or think, until the violence starts to escalate and spread.
@@tgnm9615 actually four. Fight, flight, freeze, fawn. Victims of sexual abuse, murder or hostages often fawn. This is very often kept against victims of rape, "they liked it" etc. Important to remember this is also a reaction to stress in a life threatening situation.

Well they could watch the English dub at the cost of losing some emotion from the characters. Good English dubs are hard to come by where the voice acting conveys the emotions adequately. Tell them to suck it up and watch it. I'm a grown ass man and this movie made me cry two or three times. Fuuuuuuck
I always took the rich dude's statement "my mom is waiting for me" as an explanation as to why he was so cutthroat. He's so hellbent on getting to Busan as soon as it's an option, it would make sense that he's doing everything possible to get to his mother.
I've never thought of that I remember watching and thinking it was another self action of his because he knew he was infected and so he didn't want the only one to go down. But I think I like your answer better because it gives him more depth instead of making him just an ahole
he was kinda dumb though, why on earth would he decide to ask the ones who came back to move up a wagon instead of just moving up themselves, putting themselves further away from danger not in between a real and a "possible" danger. and also why would they fortify the side they just sent the healthy looking people to instead of the side where the zombies are already knocking on, also why didn't they cover up that window already they saw it worked earlier. these actions didn't sat well within his character though, I feel like he would be smarter about this, that kinda annoyed me.
@@erhemeebayra8209 instead of caring for himself he told all the other passengers that they should move to another train because he is going there. a true hero
koreans actors and actresses are extremely good at acting, for example, the elderly people in squid game were really good despite their old age. And the little kid here too
To further add to the character of Ma Dong-seok(the big guy), he is also a socially undesirable character like the homeless man. He personifies a socially deviant brute with poor education, like a gangster of sorts. The Yeon-suck guy is an antithetical character, the typical elite who views level of education as the determinant of social stratification.
The moment when Blue Jacket Guy™️ was bitten, was actually a great plot device. It was as if he was passing the baton to our main character (the father). Basically saying, "Take what I've shown you & become a better man for those around you, as well as yourself."
Top 3 saddest deaths in my opinion. 1. The Father. 2. The Husband of the Pregnant Woman. 3. The homeless man. I love this movie so much and I recently watched Peninsula and it’s good but just can’t compare to this. This is my favorite zombie movie of all time.
I think that's another reason that so many people love this movie (but also get slightly unnerved). Most American zombie movies focus on small scale outbreaks and when they do large scale, they completely skirt over the actual human emotions and reactions. MOST people would freeze like a deer in headlights or run the fuck away. Very few would actually stand a fight (melee or guns).
When Su-an was singing the song in the tunnel that’s when I lost it. I barely held it together when her and her father were crying for each other, but the singing I turned into a crybaby.
I was NOT ready for the father to have such a deep-feel moment, when remembering holding his daughter. I, cried. Never seen the film mind you. But you've clipped it and edditet it perfectly for me to understand the deeper meaning. well done mate. well done.
oh it's too bad you watched this without seeing the film as you now know all the key plot points... however, you should still watch it, it's really moving. Not really scary, but super tense
Listen, I'm a tough nut to crack when it comes to crying in movies. I literally can't relate to most things that have made people cry in almost any sad movie moment. But train to busan ABSOLUTELY broke me. I was shedding tears in multiple scenes like a fucking baby. And the zombie threat ambiance of utter hopelessness was pitch perfect. This movie is a master piece.
I almost cry when the Dude try to hold up the Zombies for them and when the main character got infected I would actually cry if not because I'm thinking about what they're gonna do after that
The first infected we saw was trying to save her self and others, she tried to stop the bite from spreading that's why she had a scarf tied around her leg. In the movie when she was in the bathroom she said "please no" and cried because she didn't want to turn and harm others. But the bite takes over the poor woman.
@@MugdhaMahdiShams sure, but as we saw, the people left at the station they were in were attacked and eaten just as the train left. And she probably thought that wrapping a tourniquet around herself might stop the infection. If I were her, I would rather get on the train and have one of the attendants do me in (or at least have them barricade me in a washroom) instead of being eaten alive at the station.
If you pay attention to where they get bitten and how quickly it spreads I think they did a good job with that, the husband, the father and the business man were all bitten in their extremities, hands/ feet so they took longer to turn, the sister was bitten in the neck and thus turned quickly, the teen was bitten in the thigh and turned relatively quickly, and on and on, the only discrepancy I can consider is the attendant lady who got bit in the neck/shoulder and took a couple minutes to turn
When I was watching the movie and the little girl started singing at the end my stupid brain thought "she can finally finish singing because her dad is watching her from heaven" and cried even harder

I love how the daughter and pregnant lady "the easiest targets" were the ones who survived showing the payoff of the sacrifices the dad and the husband did , showing a sense of love and responsibility towards the most important people in their lives.
Your review was spot on and incredibly well done!!
what about the two teens?
The boy did it too.

But that's what i like about him, his stories aren't always happy endings and "oh we saved the world, happy day!" My favorite character in this film was "Mister" the homeless man. He does panic and crack several times. But when it counts, he helps save many characters. And in the end, throws himself to his death, to save people he hardly knew. He in my mind had one of the best and most honorable deaths in the film.
Heroism was passed down from one to another. He was saved by a stranger and he then in turn saves another.
In any other movie, he would be some extra who screams, runs and only cares for himself. However, in TTB, he actually has character and motivation

It hit harder when the father started crying with his daughter, he tried to put on a brave face for his daughter but he couldn’t once he fully let his fears and anxiety set in. That made it feel so real for me.
How cute.
Same when I first watched the movie I couldnt help but cry it was heartbreaking
If you think that homeless folks aren't helpful to just about everyone. Go meet a homeless person because you are so incredibly wrong. I would trust my life to the homeless way before I would trust my wallet to a guy in a expensive suit.
Oh yeah if ever the rich asshole tries to take control because of their ego, when competence actually matters. Ask them what a gallon of milk costs. If you actually can't even feed yourself without paying someone, you lose the right to even speak in a survival situation.

There's this one scene that really made me like the characters more, when they were going through carts fighting the zombies and got into the baseball friends that are infected, the husband and our mc (main character) knew what our baseball teenager feels and they understand why he's frozen
The one thing that gave me the most fear from TTB was when him and his mom talk one last time, and he gets to hear her transform into a zombie in real time
That just absolutely broke my heart and, as someone who almost never cried while watching a movie, I nearly cried.
Just thinking about seeing someone I'm close to, like my mom, suffer a fate as terrible as that
Just pains me.
Son Dursun i literally sobbed at that scene
Yup!
Yeah that was so sad
Good movie, but not perfect at all

speaking of the story coming full circle, i think soo-an singing the song in the end is a callback to the beginning where her dad told her that she should always finish what she started. because she never got to finish the song during her class recital. so i do think that was the perfect way to end the movie :(
OMG YES
The way the song ends with "Until we meet again..." 😥
I think the best part of the earlier scene is how the dad is interrupted by the emergency serviced passing him by and doesnt finish his sentence
It's also the reason the soldiers figured out that they weren't zombies and living people. You see the soldiers hesitate to shoot them thinking they were zombies until she starts singing

I also thought it was symbolic how the only survivors were the ones that embody innocence: children. Of course the woman survived as well, but she was carrying a child
that’s a super common feature of zombie films unfortunately
Maybe plot armor because they don't want society to get mad at them because they told the truth that children will be eaten first because they're more vulnerable and replaceable and that's just a fact of biology?!
You'll never see movies or video games show children die in a cruel or meaningless fashion.
Even if they die in the movie, they still have to make it so that it looks like it has greater meaning than it would've in real life.
In real life, everyone forgets you and life has to move on.

@@aminerkin9844 in the walking dead games they kill kids glsnglsnd
(look up mouse utopia experiment and beautiful ones.)
You can't defy the laws of physics and the logic of the universe, and don't bring me some unproven nonsense like religion or whatever, because they are subjective opinions that have no basis and are just mostly coping mechanisms to deal with this cruel world, or religion in general is a survival mechanism to help form larger tribes for the same cause to defeat competition.
(like when good guy always wins and etc)
But, ngl, some level of hope in movies does not ruin it.
this movie made me cry hard, the emotion in every single scene just felt so surreal, and it doesn’t feel like some cheap movie out there for some cash, it’s raw and full of life, i don’t know what it is about this movie but it’s different, and whatever they did to make it that way is genius, i wish every movie was like this

Madison Anne if all movies were like this train to busan wouldn’t be as ground breaking and amazing. Standards would be way higher up. And if all films were meant to reach a much higher standard then there would be major mistakes for expectations and we’d be right back where we are now. Everyone on set did an amazing job and the cast worked together so beautifully, their chemistry felt like real people interacting and there wasnt one character i was tired of seeing.
At first you’d just stare and wonder what’s happening, maybe a couple of people would do something but most wouldn’t know what to do or think, until the violence starts to escalate and spread.

he was kinda dumb though, why on earth would he decide to ask the ones who came back to move up a wagon instead of just moving up themselves, putting themselves further away from danger not in between a real and a "possible" danger. and also why would they fortify the side they just sent the healthy looking people to instead of the side where the zombies are already knocking on, also why didn't they cover up that window already they saw it worked earlier. these actions didn't sat well within his character though, I feel like he would be smarter about this, that kinda annoyed me.

I almost cry when the Dude try to hold up the Zombies for them and when the main character got infected I would actually cry if not because I'm thinking about what they're gonna do after that
bruhh same
YES. and the final scene with them singing??? I was a sobbing mess
I would sob everytime she sings at the end even if its only from a commentary like this
I don't really cry in any movies but train to busan made me feel sad and empathize with the characters
(I almost cried in Squid game tho...)
The zombie wave crashes in the movie are iconic and add a bit of humor to the horror
The first infected we saw was trying to save her self and others, she tried to stop the bite from spreading that's why she had a scarf tied around her leg. In the movie when she was in the bathroom she said "please no" and cried because she didn't want to turn and harm others. But the bite takes over the poor woman.
And she says "im sorry" as well
Well it might've been better she didn't decide to get on the train in the first place
And she should’ve killed herself to stop infecting others unless she wanted to infect others then I guess is ok
When I was watching the movie and the little girl started singing at the end my stupid brain thought "she can finally finish singing because her dad is watching her from heaven" and cried even harder
Damn you stop putting chillies in my eyes
WHY MUST YOU DO THIS TO ME
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHA!!!!!!
WHY WOULD YOU SAY THIS I WANT CRY
