I’m a little late to this poison frog party but I’m so glad you made this video! I have caught hundreds of Dendrobates auratus (green and black poison frog) and Oophaga pumilio (strawberry poison frog) during the course of my studies and my Master’s program. They are amazing froggies and I love them! I used small aquarium nets to catch them because, like you experienced, reaching your hand out into the leaf litter in the rainforest can be suuper dangerous. Working with these frogs was so fun and they will always be my favorite 💜

Yep, they are legal all over America (I believe Hawaii might have restrictions though). I am near Chicago and have over 200 dart frogs of varying species currently, and probably 50ish tads in the water.
