Haha 🤣 Thanks for that intro mate 🤭
Great drive and one hell of a start! I agree, perfect car and track combo if you can survive the start. Right....I'm off to my local Hyundai dealership 😉
Haha, sorry pal.😂
Hi Dave, I hope you’re okay! I’d like to answer a question you had during the braking video. For each car and its settings, there is a maximum braking power BIAS, which can be found by testing the powerful brakes at 200km/h or more, so that the 4 wheels decelerate in the same values. But to be fast, it is necessary to perform a degressive braking from the braking point to the APEX. However, when the steering wheel is turned, the front tires can no longer withstand the braking power, block and cause loosen "grip".Therefore, The BIAS must be lowered until this no longer happens (cf. telemetry). But be careful, when you get away from the ideal BIAS, the braking distance is longer. Then a too low BIAS make "loosen time". It is necessary to find the right BIAS to optimize the potential of the car, even in fixed series. Your missing "1 second" comes from there during the race. Telemetry can show you that, with analysis of the correct parameters. Generally, a good wheel deceleration at initial braking is 4-5% at the front and 5-6% at the rear, relative to ground speed. 😉
Ah Knockhill- I have fond memories of being a passenger in my mates Citroen Saxo VTR as we disappeared off the circuit backwards at turn two in a flurry off lift off oversteer and gravel 😀
While I agree the TCRs are a better suit to Knockhill, racing the GT3s there last week was great fun and is also some of the cleanest racing i've had on the service in a while. The only combonation I can think of that I enjoyed more was the new Porsche Cup round the Nordschliefe but that's more down to me loving that track
love watching you race at knockhill, absolutely lovely driving :)
That shade on the intro was so good i watched it twice! 😂🤣👌👀
Yes TCR is unbelievable fun at Knockhill.
Experienced knockhill on ProjectCARS2 and feel in love. A quick and quirky track she is.
That Audi going for the RP value backing into the garage like that
Not a track I own at the minute.
Again the TCR's look like great fun and good racing.
Thanks for another great video Dave.
I have driven almost nothing but this series this week. Won my first top split race here and can't wait for the reverse in week 4!
Reverse is amazing 😁
Congrats on the win 👊
Now lets wait for a Skippies here 😆
I was hesitant of Kockhill at first, but man I've been having some cracking races there in the GT3s throughout the week! Happy Chrimbo Dave and family!
Happy Christmas to you too 😁
Great drive. I can't wait to get some races in. Thanks for the content.
That intro for Duncan/steel river sims 😂😂😂
Most fun I’ve had on iracing
These cars are a blast and good close racing! Well done iracing.
good race dave , i agree this is a perfect tcr or lower track .. also F that was funny :)
as watching Knockhill racing Live on YT, someone mentioned this Video game, great to see my local Circuit in a game.... Laddie
Even Pro racers say you can't do the same lap twice at Knockhill.
The Rhythm through the chicanes changes if your even one inch out
It'd be awesome to drive irl 😁
Been wanting to run both the car and track! Gotta get my safety rating up in road though. Great stuff!
1st 😁
Great race Dave!
My favorite car/series at the moment 👍 Any plans on getting back to some vr videos?
Love the content! Keep it up!
Merry christmas from Sweden 🎅🏻
I don't have a VR headset at the moment.
Merry Christmas to you too 😁
damn this got uploaded fast
@TheRacingLine Flashy flashy!!
@@topchris175 lol I did that to Alberto all race and it looked like it was working then he got quicker last 5 laps and I stopped
Dave Cam, You need check out Jack John's YT channel. Not the only streamer/tuber of note in that race.
Yep I know 👍
@@davecamyt oh stop it you 2 😅
Knockhill has never been 32oC. 🤣
Great video though as always.
Crazy track. I was getting dizzy watching you.
F for #9
Made my day ^^
That’s what I was thinking what were gt3s doing on this track. I haven’t got this yet but I would only want to drive something like the fw audi or the mx5 most definitely mx5
The TC are great to drive around Knockhill which is my local track where I do track days in a seven kit car Hayabusa power, only downside of the TC is the sound. Its terrible in iRacing
Man, I bet that is an animal!
Hyundai is a bit better around here. As a Honda runner I’m jealous you can clatter that kerb before the railway straight. In the Honda it rips your fingers off and then proceeds to pogo
I’m wondering how the Mazdas and mustangs would do around here.
i think the fastest cars that should go around Knockhill are the GT4s
big f for #9
I notice when you stomp the brakes you never lock them up. Did you do something with the settings to prevent lockup? I see a lot of i racers doing things in the programming to prevent it.
No, I never use any of those 'hacks'. 👍
do you not find that the lower ranked British tracks (Cadwell, Oulton, Knockhill, Brands, Thruxton, Donnington) are so much fun? Out of all the British tracks I have raced on I would say Silverstone is the worst (and it's a great track)....even behind Snetterton, because even though Snetterton can be a bit bland, it still has that final 3rd which is brilliant and very difficult.
Totally agree. The smaller tracks are much more fun than the boring Silverstone 😁
Hyundai, like Sunday
Not in the UK 😁
Which app are you using for the spotter? Is that Crew Chief?
Yes it is 👍
Hey, I just noticed that your twitter links on your channel are outdated and I just wanted to let you know :)
Thank you Dean. I'll change it tomorrow 👍
Wait until IMSA multi-class is here week 9…..
How do you review the carnage after the race?
Its Ctrl numpad 1 for the next incident and Ctrl numpad 3 for the previous one 👍
Is iracing better than ACC?
In Honda you cant take curbes like that :/
Anyone know how he gets that awesome TV camera overlay in top right corner
He simply records the whole race replay in TV view and through editing software inserts it into the live timeframe as an overlay.
are the TCR cars relatively balanced when you tested them dave?
Yes pretty much. I prefer the gearbox in the Honda and Hyundai over the Audi.
@@davecamyt yer I hear you, any tips in pulling off the line in the Audi all I do is constantly wheel spin 😩
I've yet to figure that out myself 😂
Although I'm pretty sure it does have launch control. Check the notes section in the car setup page. It may say something there 👍
17:33 there's launch control for the TCR cars? How do I engage launch control?
Yes. In the Hyundai it's a combination of clutch and handbrake but I forgot the procedure. It tells you in the notes on the setup page iirc
@@davecamyt thanks dave, I'll have a thorough look at the setup page
As a heads up to anyone that finds this confusing later on as I did, the Audi does not seem to discuss the procedure in it’s setup notes. For the Audi, I believe the procedure is
1. Full brake in neutral
2. Shift into first
3. Apply moderate throttle (this will top out at the pre-defined rev limit
4. Release brake and modulate throttle throughout initial launch in first gear
5. Shift into second and apply full throttle as able
*Disclaimer* This is my procedure pieced together from old videos from around when the Audi was initially released. I have been unable to find updated documentation on the subject.
F to the Audi in the pits
Could someone let me know how I can get the hub data that Dave has Top left and Bottom Right? Is that a separate app or just an option in Iracing?
It's the Racelabs overlay 👍
@@davecamyt I’ve just completed two races tonight getting a podium in both. I’m loving tcr around Knockhill even more then the Ferrari from last week. Can’t wait for the upcoming IMSA pilot series coming to brands hatch gp
F for car #9
Honda absolutely can't handle curbs so that's why you're seeing more Hyundai!
Great result but not the most exciting race.
#9 f
F!
lol "Jimbo" You should think yourself lucky. He's horrible to me.
RIP Kevin
morning dave. how do i use the launch control in the hyunday? do i have to map a button?
The procedure is something to do with the handbrake and I'm pretty sure it tells you in the notes in the garage. I just used my regular clutch start for this race and not the launch control.
F #9 😀
