Awesome content Dave thank you. I think this is the first video of yours where I've actually done the combo around the same time you did, and even recognize at least one name. What an insanely difficult car to drive after this update, and this track is EPIC. Good stuff Dave.
Pretty sure the kink/braking zone at 2:36 is called "the angst". And the pit with the Continental signs used to be called "The slaughterhouse". Norwegians have interesting naming styles I suppose.

Not a fan of the Mazda’s to be honest, but this race was cool to watch. Good race, Dave!! It amazed me how close you can get to the cars in front without crashing into them 👏🏼👏🏼
I'm with you, it's a fun track. When I find myself sitting at the bottom of the hill with my car pointed where I just came from because of a brainfart, a little less so. But I do like the challenge.
I have another reccomendation for you Dave, you must try this circuit in the FW31, it flows so well, it has to be the most fun i've had driving a car on iracing this year. I wish they brought back the series for it.
Absolutely most underrated car on the service. Excluding tin tops the FW has the best force feedback of all the open wheelers and is the most fun to drive. It feels a lot more visceral and animalistic than the Merc W12 which feels too artificial for me. I would love it if they brought this series back, i never got to race it. I’ve done thousands of laps in that thing and it’s still my favourite! And yeah, is awesome round this track, first car I tried!
@@TheSnaveeelPlaysGames A lot of people just discourage it because its 12 years old now and just think it will suck, the series for this car as far as I know hasn't been on the service since it was Replaced by the MP4-30 in 2015, so its been 7 years since it was last raced so not many people know about it. First car I tried here also
@@amarokdcs1062 it’s a shame. I’ll try any car, especially if it’s F1 😂 and all tyre updates, FFB updates etc get applied to all vehicles so it far from sucks. The tyres alone are great, you can push for lap after lap which you can’t do in the Mercedes’ or Mclaren (granted, I don’t have as much track time in the Mclaren to say I’ve really pushed the tyres)
This track maybe new in sim-racing but actually it's not a new in real racing, it's i think 5 or 6 years old but has been reconstructed. They did STCC on this track and some other cool things.
They must have changed the Mazda's handling because it feels much more oversteery than it used to. This car has taught me a lot about balancing throttle mid corner and trail braking, especially on the downhill right hander. So easy to spin there! LOVE this track in the Mazdas. I've been doing races here in the MX-5 for 2 days now and Chris wins a lot of them, he's a beast.
I have only driven around this in practice mode in one car. If you think the MX-5 is a handful on cold tyres around this track, try the Formula Vee. It is a real handful but absolutely fun.
Won the 1st race I ran here last night. Started 7th was in the lead by the top of the uphill section between spins, wrecks and a blinking car I phased through lol
Nice racing Dave! I would definitely revisit the replay for a protest. It looks like 'intentional wrecking and retaliation' on the #12 car against #16 car. Incident at 14:50 shows the first contact and subsequent revenge attempts at 15:40 and divebomb at 12:40. Might explain why the #16 was flipping at the end. Even though it is week 13, the sporting code still applies and you shouldn't intentionally wreck others even though it might be unranked fun.
If you like the Miata around here, try the Legends 34 Ford. Someone was doing a hosted session today, what a fantastic blast just using iRacing's road setup.
Great vid! Love this combo, but races full of rookies usually means significant ratings loss there... I gave up quali - being wiped out of the race at turn 1 when in P1 is far too aggravating -, but even that does not help much most of the time...
