- In this episode, I explore Richmond, Virginia, and delve into the experiences of Muslims that call this city home. Guest speakers include former Black Panther Jihad AbdulMumit, who spent two decades in jail for his affiliations with the Party. I also get into the divide between the immigrant and african american muslim communities, and explore how we can overcome it.

That point reminded me of minorities being mistreated in Ukraine as they’re trying to flee the war
As salamu alaykum akhi. Your videos are super well made - almost documentary like, but engaging to the point it feels like a vlog alahuma barik! I'm from the UK and you've inspired to want to travel to the US to see for myself the rich muslim tradition. I hope you continue filming these as it genuienly sheds lights on issues like gentrification and xenophobia that usually go unnoticed. Barakallahu feek.
Barak Allahu feek akhi I appreciate your viewership and kind words! InshaAllah I’m coming out with new content soon, stay tuned and share these videos with your friends!
Great video..I'm from Richmond..but there is much more to discover with Muslims here...I wish I had known you were coming to Richmond..if you ever come back.. contact me
Was trying to decide if I’d be welcome as a African American woman, thank you for the video. I think I’ll visit
There are no less than four major masajid in the Richmond metropolitan area, one of which is under construction in the far west end suburbs of Glen Allen, Virginia, and cost an estimated $1 million for construction. The masjid featured in the video is Masjidul Yusuf (Islamic Center of Richmond). A brief segway in the video showed Masjid Firdous which was forced to move from the rental property they occupied in the Northside of Richmond since this video was filmed. For the most part, African American muslims are integrated into the other four mainly immigrant communities at Masjid Al Falah (West End/Henrico), the Islamic Center of Virginia (Bon Air/Chesterfield), Masjid Yusuf (West End/Henrico), and West End Islamic Center (West End/Glen Allen). Within the city, Masjid Bilal is predominantly African American and is the oldest masjid in the Richmond surrounding area. That point illustrates the entrenched racial and social stratification within the Richmond Muslim community
Mashaallah great video

Beautiful Māshā'Allāh TabārakAllāh!
Jazakum'Allah khayra
Ey a little tip for your audio to me I think it’s a bit low you can use this site called audiotrimmer to boost your audio ie making it a bit louder. But overall great vid!
Masha Allah, very good video, but Bro. Jihad is NOT a native of Virginia, fyi. He is from New Jersey and relocated to the Richmond area after his release. So, he cannot really tell the story of Islam in Richmond or the struggle of African American Muslims who were born and raised in Richmond.
Sis. Mamusa, btw, is an immigrant and entrepreneur from Liberia
Thank you brother for sharing
Salamo alaikom, i al willing to move to Usa and i made serachs about richmond, what do you adcise me brother? I heard thah crime rate is high and the rasisme against muslims?
