Last week from Civitavecchia, Norwegian Spirit set out on a series of longer cruises lasting 17, 20 and 28-days. These extended voyages are visiting three continents and ports that include Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Cape Town, South Africa. On April 9, 2020, Norwegian Spirit will cruise to Athens (Piraeus), Greece, the ship’s new homeport. Norwegian Spirit offers a summer and fall season of seven-day voyages to the Greek Isles, Turkey, and Israel, through Nov. 8, 2020. Ports on this fabulous itinerary will stay in port well past the usual 5PM departure time. Ports with extended time include Rhodes, Mykonos; Santorini and Corfu, Greece; Kusadasi and Istanbul, Turkey; Ashdod and Haifa, Israel; Limassol, Cyprus. There will also be two new ports of call for the Norwegian Cruise Line - Patmos and Volos, Greece. Have Norwegian Cruise updated their Children Policy on vacation with age limitation to adolences and young adult crew members entertainment services, because they have better happier life lessons development than older adults and seniors of age. Great to have Ben speaking about some of great movies cinematic culture going on these type of vacation plan just like myself.
Wish Royal Caribbean would refurbish some of their 20+ year old ship cabins like this. Seems like they only refurbish the common areas or sometimes replace the carpet in the suites

Hawaii will always have my heart. I was blessed to live there for 10 years from 1994 to 2004. I met my husband there we adopted four children and I still have friends and family that live on the island. It looks like you guys had a beautiful time and I’m loving your video thank you for sharing❤

The Spirit is a very nice ship . Small ,elegant and easy to move around . One of my favorite Norwegian ships . Henry’s is the happening place to be . If Chips Ahoy is tending there still , he makes that place priceless . Enjoy 👍
The Spirit is not only the oldest and smallest ship in the fleet but also one of two ships that was not built for Norwegian cruise lines but actually was built and belonged to another cruise line.

The ship for an older ship looks lovely… The cabin looks good…USB’s both sides of the bed,…marvellous. I don’t understand why it’s just not standard these days…couples don’t share phones. Great no shower curtain…. 18 shirts for 16 days is acceptable in my book….. Nice Stef is still cruising with you….why isn’t she blogging though…. She always made me laugh especially when she’s on a drink testing mission! Hope David’s case turned up…poor David it’s always his 👍🇬🇧

Having USB ports on both sides of the bed is definitely a convenient feature that should be standard nowadays. And we're glad you liked the absence of a shower curtain. As for packing, we think 18 shirts for a 16-day trip is perfectly acceptable too! It's always good to have options. Settled in with my rice and beans (makes me feel like I am on holiday) to enjoy your video. I think the smaller ships are lovely and your cabin looked great! I can’t tell you how much joy your videos bring me. I spent all my cruising dollars on the 80s. Music Cruise for next March so it is necessary to live vicariously with my two favourite cruisers. Can’t wait to see the next in the series.
I sailed on the Spirit back in 2005 right after NCL acquired or moved it over from its parent company in Japan. Prior it had been sailing in Japan so the interior had lots of dark wood which was actually rather nice. It’s amazing how great the ship looks now. I really enjoyed my cruise on the Spirit especially the size of the ship. Thanks for the great review!
Prior to being Deployed to Iraq, I spent 2 years in Honolulu in Tripler Army Medical center...I worked 8 hours a day and the rest of the time was free like anyone else...The first 3 or 4 months seemed like a novelty...But I started to see the seedy side of Hawaii...a lot of Drugs, The heat that is constant...And a lot of resentment from the Samoan population that dislikes Americans. Think of being stuck on a small Island with no way of know how long you have to stay there...The cost of living in Hawaii is absurd The average cost of JUST RENT is over $2,500 a month..Luckily the MILITARY paid for my off post housing because I was married...For a week or so Hawaii is fine...But long term...NEVER..I swore to my wife I will never go back to Hawaii as long as I live...I always wonder why people would go to Hawaii which is so much more commercialized and not go to the Cook Island or Tahiti...Is Hawaii worth seeing for the first time...FOR SURE....But I think Tahiti is much more to my liking....

The channel they had when they were "programming" the tv is the navigational channel, that's actually my husbands favorite channel. Our youngest daughter used that for a cruise when we took her out of school for a vacation for geography, and since it shows wind, sailing speed, depth etc she wrote reports for different subjects.

18 shirts isn't over the top, I take about that for 14 nights on holiday, when David said you can even get your knees in when Ben was filming the bathroom my 1st thought was why would you want to put your knees in the toilet then realised what David meant( it been a long day). First off my mother and I loved your new video. But need some help from the professionals. Have appt set with travel agent for Monday to look at the same cruise you were on (I think, looking at 12 day from Tahiti French Polynesia to end in Honolulu) and was wondering if you’d recommend it over the Mediterranean. My mother has been to the med 3 times but I haven’t. However I don’t want her to go to some places she’s been to 3 times. And to be honest I want something relaxing and Hawaii sounds like it fits bill better since my mothers husband died and she’s had two diff cancers and face reconstructive surgery on her face. So she needs to get away and chill. Since we are going to Japan on Oceania in 2024 didn’t want to go to a super busy places with everyday full of excursions. What was the exact cruise you were on? And for the cruise portion what was to total cost for you both, just to get an idea to see if travel agents price is a good deal?
Even with all of their updates, they are missing one important thing! Electrical outlets by the bed! So many people use CPAP or BIPAP machines. With no outlets by the bed, you have to run an extension cord from the desk area - a diffinite safety hazard. As for the pillows, yup, they're sadly lacking. I travel with my own pillow. You're so funny about the shirts! When we went on vacation when I was a kid, no matter how long we were traveling, Dad's rule was one to wash, one wear, one for spare. Mom put her foot down when we took a trip to England - her first time back since leaving after the war.

That’s still on my bucket list we nearly got there we one month away and Covid struck and all cruises were cancelled we got all our money back, Royal Caribbean haven’t done a good price since for Hawaii so we used the money this year and done a b2b from New Jersey to the Caribbean and it was fantastic and that was on Royal Caribbean I will get to go there on day 😊
Ben I’m with you ! I pack a lot of clothes. For my Europe cruise and trip my friend and I had 9 bags . In Barcelona and Athens we had to take 2 taxis to fit it all . Only in London was the taxi able to fit it all in one lol . We were gone for 28 days though . 😎😎😎
I lived in Hawaii and even got married at Kualoa Ranch so I will say getting spam and eggs at McDonald's is not a bad thing. it is actually unique to Hawaii. Won't find it in other states (to my knowledge anyway).

It's amazing you got the real leis on embarkation day. My family was staying in a suite this past April on the Pride of America standard 7 day Hawaii tour. We did not get any real leis. However, about 750 passengers did get leis. They were part of a company sponsored trip and most likely their firm paid extra for it. So it was bad PR for NCL not to have leis for suite guests, but their half the ship got it.
You’ve both got 1000 times more balls than I could ever muster the courage to find lol. There is absolutely no way in heaven or hell that I would go swim with shark😨 But I’m glad all went well and you enjoyed the experience ❤️

Think you might get great value out of a Snooz Go device.. small portable white noise speaker that you can also use as a Bluetooth speaker! Might be worth a look for y’all if you ever have issues with bringing a fan onboard 😁

Ahh, I had intended to cruise to Hawaii in august this year as part of my ‘year at sea’, but had to cancel due to timetables etc - it looks SO good!!

Yes I would recommend over the Mediterranean as its more of a unique cruise. We did Hawaii to Alaska ending in Vancouver.

i did a pride of america cruise and we departed day one from Honolulu on December 31 they stayed late for new years fireworks.

It's amazing you got the real leis on embarkation day. My family was staying in a suite this past April on the Pride of America standard 7 day Hawaii tour. We did not get any real leis. However, about 750 passengers did get leis. They were part of a company sponsored trip and most likely their firm paid extra for it. So it was bad PR for NCL not to have leis for suite guests, but their half the ship got it.
We were on the Spirit in 2016, it look’s completely different. We were avoiding this ship because we aware already on it, now we are reconsidering.

The refurbished Spirit is amazing. I had my first cruise on Spirit sailing out of New Orleans in the year 2012. What a difference they made!

You cabin looks very modern with the update. Your video brought back many memories from my Hawaiin cruise 20 years ago. We flew in 3 days early to try to get adjusted to the time change.

Think you might get great value out of a Snooz Go device.. small portable white noise speaker that you can also use as a Bluetooth speaker! Might be worth a look for y’all if you ever have issues with bringing a fan onboard 😁

When you went swimming I thought you mooned us. Ha, ha. Hawaii is probably touristy but does sound so nice. Nice they spruced it up still the balcony is strange.
