    Hey! Any chance you could redo this test with the latest firmware? thank you!!!

    Sooooooo glad you made this video. I thought it was just my Max 7. I have 1.2Gbps down service from Xfinity. I seem lower speed on the Max 7 than from the eero Pro 6E when I use the speed test within the eero app. I hope you can dig further into this.

      i have the same plan as you and dealing with the same issue with my max 7. what modem are you using?

    • @BlaqViper
      @BlaqViper 9 месяцев назад

      @@wilfley93 The modem is a Netgear CM1150V which was fine at the time when I had 1Gbps service. But Xfinity bumped it up to 1.2Gbps last year, but I will never get that with this modem because it has a 1Gbps ethernet port. About to move to the CM2000 that has a 2.5Gbps port. I guess that’s a separate issue from the in-app speed test in the eero app showed an average speed of 955Mbps on my Pro 6E, yet 931Mbps with the Max 7 using with the 10 or 2.5Gbps ports. I’m hoping this is a firmware issue rather than a hardware issue.

    It seems like eero always takes a good 6 months or so to work out issues with firmware updates with new devices.

      That may be true, I retested the pro 6e recently i prep for the comparison videl and it fared much better for wireless backhaul.

    What distance away is the wireless backhauled router in your test? I have two buildings that I have connected and have to use wireless backhaul wifi 6 and was looking to upgrade to 7. I mostly get 800ish mbps out of 1gbps max. The buildings are maybe 75 feet apart. Would be nice to get the full bandwidth of wired devices on in the 2nd building.

    • @landpet
      @landpet  8 месяцев назад

      This testing was done around 25 ft to 30 ft away with a few walls. My normal testing is about 35 to 40ft away.
      It’s hard to guess what you will get since it really varies based on obstructions but WiFi 7 devices generally have amazing wireless backhaul speeds

    Since you tested most of the mesh routers, Can you please tell which ones has the best software without monthly fees cause i saw some cheap mesh systems that wants you to pay extra monthly fee to get its extra software or security features?

    • @landpet
      @landpet  9 месяцев назад +4

      Asus is the best in terms of that, they have a ton of options with no fees. Asus XT9 is a fantastic mesh system for the price, if you need something more powerful, then check out the Asus et12.

    Very good instructional video. The 4Mbps throughput on a 10Mbps network is very poor performance in my estimation. You only had one device connected thus there was no bandwidth sharing going on. I think the ASIC probably doesnt support 10Gbps.

    • @landpet
      @landpet  9 месяцев назад

      Thanks, btw these are Gbps connections. You are correct, no sharing well I have other devices connected but they’re not taking much bandwidth for being idle.
      They do advertise 10Gbps ports so I imagine it has to support it eventually but as of now, it doesn’t support it.

    Can you recommend the best router for Google Fiber 8-GB plan?

    • @landpet
      @landpet  2 месяца назад

      Deco BE85, Deco BE95 or Orbi 970 for mesh systems
      Whichever you prefer, they are all great.

    Great video @Lanpet,are these tests run using just normal ethernet cables cheers?

      Well for this one it was a cat7 Ethernet cable by Amazon Basics. As long as it’s a valid cat7 cable, you can go up to 10Gbps.

    Is there any difference between the Pro 6E and Max 7 in regard to wireless backhaul?
    I have 3 of the 6E. One is on wired backhaul while the other is wireless backhaul. My doorbell camera connects to the one that’s on wireless backhaul.

    • @landpet
      @landpet  9 месяцев назад +1

      There’s a big difference between wireless backhaul speeds from the eero pro 6E to the eero Max 7. However if you’re just using it for your doorbell camera, that usually needs very little bandwidth, so there wouldn’t be much of a difference between the two in that case.

    I also have Frontier 5Gb service. I get 1400mb download on my pc when connected to the Eero Max 7 but when I connect to the ONT I get the 5GB speed. I have a 5Gb network card. The drivers are up to date and the Eero is up to date. Frontier brought a meter out to check the speeds and they connected to the Eero and the meter ran over 5gb. I for the life of me cant figure this problem out. Frontier cant fix it and Eero cant fix it. No one knows why its doing this. Also my upload runs 4800mb upload thru the Eero to make things even crazier. Im use cat8 just so you know.

      hmmmmm, do you have another computer that can support up to 5Gbps? I'm wondering if it's your network card on your computer. If you got 4000+, that would be normal but 1400 is slow. Did you try updating the drivers on your network card?

    I use the 6Pro now, do you think I will see improvements for wireless backhaul with the Max 7? My house has concrete walls and I only get 325 Mbps now to the upstairs router.

    • @landpet
      @landpet  9 месяцев назад

      For wireless backhaul, yes this will have a noticeable improvement over the 6 Pro.
