They included more traditional algorithms in Specular Tempus along with very unique algorithms but in this particular case, I believe they did it for 2 reasons (and please take it with a grain of salt as this is my interpretation only): They wanted an algorithm that was unique and versatile while making you play instead of focussing on what type of reverb you use; this can be tweeked to be as spacious as one wishes; The second reason is that they wanted a base reverb that would be proprietary and flexible as a starting point for all the effects that they added to the Spatium reverb creating all of the pedal's algorithms. Again, this is what I think went down but might be completely wrong. Regardless, I love the result :) Also, on a more personal note, whenever I have pedals with the traditional 4 types of reverberation (spring, room, plate, hall), more often then not, I stick to 2 of those effects only.
Thanks Jose! The pedal just makes everything sound better, for rhythm you light have to dial the settings back a bit as these sounds are huuuge, in the best of ways :D Never tried it on acoustic but GFI has some videos on their channel using an acoustic guitar and it sounded amazing.
Unfortunately, I've never played one. Gotta say though, for enormousness, ambient, textural, pads and huge spacey, musical sounds, the Specular Reverb's algorithms are hard to beat.
Thank you so much :) I actually have the Specular Tempus as well, no video for it though. Algorithm wise, GFI reverbs (and delays too) are just amazing, definitely have their own original approach and I really think they make you sound better, the reverbs really compliment what's being played and always sound huge, specially in stereo, you can really feel the movement. As for which one is the right one to buy, that's a tough one. The Tempus has more algorithms and of course, it has delays too but the pedal opens up even more when you use SpecLab, loads of parameters to tweak. Now it just depends if you are a fan of tweaking and want all the extra reverb flavors or just want to set 4 knobs, choose one of 7 algorithms and be done. Regardless of choice, not a bad sound in them :)
@@danceonvenus7820 It's a great feature for loading/saving Presets but you still only get to tweak 4 parameters per algorithm, the rest can be done via SpecLab :) Have fun!
In the spatium mode, with low decay and blend settings, it will yield more subtle results. I couldn't find a bad sound in the pedal but I believe it shines in higher settings as it is so musical. For algorithms that are more subtle, perhaps the Specular Tempus is a contender, it has several reverb algorithms as well as delays and a combination of both.
This video is very relaxing. So well done. I have this pedal and it is amazing.
Thank you Rob :)
There is no GFI line up page, it can not be found.
Why dont they have it set up like hall, plate, spring, room, etc? What is advantages of not doing so?

The best reverb i listened from now
Agreed! It makes everything 'move' and sound celestial. All settings are musical and inspiring.
Great job !
Glad you liked it :D
Nice!
Thanks! I watch your videos all the time! Really like the time bender one!
How do you change algorithms ?
The mode/edit button scrolls through the 7 modes. You can tell them appart by their color, displayed on the left LED.
Great job. How does this guy sound playing rhythm guitar? On acoustic?
Thanks Jose!

Thoughts on this versus neunaber MK2? What about for acoustic guitar

Great job! Thanks for the video, was very good! But compared with GFI Tumpus, which one is much better, as I’m considering that at the moment, thanks!
Thank you so much :)

PedalCasters fair enough, thanks man! Tempus would better with the screen, lol

do you think it does well in more subtle reverb sounds as well?
