Man house of learning would be a decent landmark if you could research 2 techs in it at the same time

also the compound being able to build stone walls with infantry is pretty huge but oft forgotten about

@@zachdean6706 same. delhi's "eco bonuses" are in indirect things like this. infantry to build walls keeps villagers busy on resources, for example
Wow pretty good and insightful explanation on the guild hall! took away another tech for timing play with food --> gold around 2k. Such a better explanation than "it gets more rss over the course of the game".

Can you do a civ tier list for the homies like myself that aren’t amazing at the game?
I would switch regnetz and floating gate: the latter provide as much gold or more in imperial, or gives you other options, and does not rely on you getting the relics.
I know this is Castle age landmarks but in your feudal age vid you ranked the Saharan trade network for the Malians at the very bottom. It’s honestly underrated, it’s a solid defensive landmark especially against feudal age pushes on your gold. I almost always pick it over Mansa quarry.
I was confused about that too, especially since Barbican was on top of the list.
But at a PRO level, who goes saharan over mansa? Every time it pops up, its almost always seen as a mistake or a reaction to dark age pressure, and in dark age they either go push the woodline or go home content they’ve “killed” two villagers worth of eco very early.
@@qwerty222999Barbican has a handcannon and is a stepping stone to Song, whereas Saharan blocks you from Mansa and is just a fat outpost. I think a better comparison would be Kremlin vs Golden Gate, where all the pros pick Kremlin despite GG being the eco landmark because gremlins are just that good defensively.

Floating gate is objectively and mathematically better than Regnizt, so should be above or at least same rank.
If you get 2 relics + 6 yoroshiro, thats same gold as Regnitz with 4 relics. But floating gate can be more flexible because it has other options. Also yoroshiro cannot be denied like hre relics. In most game if hre gets 3 relics and you get 2, your floating gate (+relics) will generate same as regnizt in castle, and more gold than their regnizt in imperial, even though you got less relics.
It seems you didn’t watch until the end, he bumped it up to S tier.
At lower tiers, I thought white tower was always better than king’s palace overall as it basically gave 2 siege workshops. So if you age up after going 2 TC + longbow spam, then you’re basically only scared of mango’s. WT gives you instant siege superiority unless you’re going against China.
how tf is regnitz supposed to be better than floating gate, floating gate gives more passive gold income in imperial that can´t get denied, in castle it´s comparable to 3-4 relics and it gives you free monks that can grab relics, it also doubles down as a burgrave by boosting your production speed even if it means temporarily forefitting some passive gold income

@@fishman1255 Hre is just a better civ, floating gate is better than regnitz unless your opponent sleeps and you get 5 relics every game, also floating gate was s tier after a lot of consideration while regnitz was a no brainer, so beasty still seems to hold these landmarks in different reguards
To me it seemed like Beasty decided on S tier once he remembered that the floating gate spawns free priests, with one being spawned IMMEDIATELY upon entering castle age.
So I assume the A ranking was based on the resources / production boost alone, which compares in ranking with with other landmarks in this list (Except the Byzantines, but he specifically mentioned the value of those units above similar landmarks). But since the floating gate spawning priests allows you to contest relics even compared to HRE and Delhi, who have access to prelates / scholars immediately as well, it upped the ranking.
If that is indeed the consideration, I think it’s understandable. You might disagree, but it’s an interesting look into the thought process of a top pro player.
But personally - yeah, floating gate is an easy S tier. Just like his logic for the Malian landmark - this is what makes the Japanese what they are, and the entire reason for why the fast castle strategy works for them. God knows they need it, what with keeps being inaccessible and a lackluster feudal age.
Am I the only one who thinks Regnitz is an A tier landmark?
Like in comparison to the high trade house which is in A tier and imo belongs there, you need 2 relics for it to equal out the gold (since high trade house often seems to be close to 160 gpm). 3 relics is worth more gold, but high trade house eventually gets you to 500 bounty which is probably worth hat 80 gold gap. Regnitz gives 200 value as a monastery, but high trade house gives you 350 food per minute to gather so its likely worth like 7-8 farms (plus deer gather faster than farms). Regnitz can conditionally noticeably outdo high trade house if you get 4+ relics, but it can also condtionally be trash if you get less than 2 relics.
On the other hand, the most comparable S tier landmark to Regnitz imo is floating gate. Regnitz seems very blatantly worse than floating gate. It just flat out generates less gold, but floating gate is also a tempo landmark. Only 2 things it does better than floating gate are if you get relics right at the start of castle it generates gold earlier, and you don't lose tithe barns.

atabeg is shit in imp since you have infinite number of them, go for it age 2 or 3.
Since devs "watch" my report and said duplicate atabeg were not a problem, I think it’s a feature.

wanna ask if golden horn tower is that great, so why mongol khaganate palace not at the same level.
they are both random free unit. any disccusion about that?

temple of equality would be alot better if the targeting for the monks was better. if I have 10 monks I might as well have one because they all target the same unit. they need to update the targeting so they cant all target the same unit at the same time. i think it would be pretty busted tho if they fix that

King's Palace sucks. Let's put this into perspective, Burgrave is 800 resources while King's Palace is 750 resources. If you want to boom in Castle, it's just better to build the White Tower and then another TC than building the King's Palace and then a Keep.
