I’m a VERY Bronze/new player…but am enjoying learning the Byz for its flexibility and challenge. This breakdown was crazy helpful!! Saving it to watch multiple times as I learn each age unique features.
The day I'm able to overcome my love for gold producing civs (mainly the Japanese and the Zhu Xi), Byz will be my new main simply because of that olive oil siege production and early longbow rush
How sure are you that the cisterns only need to cover the drop off area for the vils to boost them? I am a noob but I thought it is "gathering speed", and not bonus percentage to dropoff? Or how exacty does that work? Also do you know if a farm is still in the area of the great winery if a small part of it is in its radius, or does it have to be covered fully by the radius?
@@joka4387 they gain the boost by entering the circle, it will wear off if they have to walk far to the resource been when it comes to things like berries near the grand winery the walk distance back to the berries isint that far
so u are telling me cistern is basically an aoe area of Imperial Officer? i thought Chinese is the ultimate late game civ, no other civ can beat Chinese in ultra late game. So if enemy dont attack = I win. Then he masses cataphract, all my spearmen died faster than villager. He just mowed my whole empire. At least now I get to know about the other civs without buying the dlc, thanks for the video!
Bro do you have any replay reviews on how to deal with Byzantine horseman and longbow rush? It legit feels unbeatable, just lost to it 3 times in a row.
@@RTS_Papercut-bo7qt Yes please mate! I had two games against the same guy. First I went China 2 TC and got rekt. Second I thought I'd try to go aggro but still got done. In game name is The Joker Baby games were against CzachoTen
Is foreign engineering school really that good? The other imp landmark basically increases your eco by 1/3 and you can still spend the olive oil on mercs
u gain the unique aspects of each merc unit (usually individual technologies only available to that units civ) which can in turn boost your units in combat, so yes foreign engineering company is always no 1
@@RTS_Papercut-bo7qt lol no worries. Thanks for the breakdown, I appreciated how thorough it was, as someone who also used to Delhi main but switched to Byzantines once they came out.
Byz Main here, this is the best civ breakdown 🎉

You keep saying van-gar-ian. But it's not spelt vangarian, its varangian, pronounced var-AN-jee-an.
@@JimCullen whoops my bad. I’ve always struggled with pronunciations my whole life so appreciate the fix
