@@cherrylove3656 You think the truck driver could see that low car? Imagine if you will, the dashcam is mounted right against the windshield somewhere on the right side ,probably high up on the windshield and maybe to the right side! From where the driver sits, he would never have seen that car even with all the mirrors in the world mounted on his truck! That dashcam is sitting 2 feet forward of the driver's eyes and clearly 3 feet to the right of the driver as well! Unless the driver was sitting so high up in his chair that his head would be hitting the ceiling, would he have seen that car. That is not a proper position to be sitting in! Couldn't reach the pedals unless he's 7 foot tall! Dashcams always see more than what the driver can see! Any driver would not have seen that car! Lmbo!! That’s exactly how some of these morons act! Driving like they expect everyone else to move out of their way and avoid them while they drive crazy and like they’re the only vehicle on the road that has the right of way. You couldn’t even see whether the car had a blinker on because they started turning into the truck way before they actually passed it. It’s clearly the car driver’s fault. What we could barely see of the car as it came up on the right side wouldn’t have been very visible to the truck driver because the camera can see more than the driver can. But in this situation there was no reason for the car to merge into the trucks lane before they were passed the truck and ahead a safe distance. That’s how you merge into another lane that is already occupied, you have to pass ahead of them with a safe distance between you and them BEFORE merging into their lane. There are some ridiculous comments from other people saying stuff like the truck driver should have been nicer and let the car in, but the car wasn’t passed the truck before it began merging into the truck, not into a safe space in the lane! 😝 I can’t believe how many bad drivers there are now and how they expect others to be responsible for their screwed up negligent driving instead of being responsible for themselves. It’s bad when you can’t even drive down the road, staying in your lane, doing the speed limit and being careful without some idiot just turning into your vehicle like you were supposed to have known to get out of their way!! The gall of some people is unbelievable!

Can confirm, DFW traffic sucks for truckers. I drove a class C cylinder gas truck for 3+ years and got the same treatment truckers do: turn on your blinker and they treat is as an open invitation to make a pass-the-truck train in the lane you need to get into. They cut you off and jam on the brakes to keep from plowing into the person in front of them, taking away your safety cushion and not thinking/caring that a 20,000 lb (or 70,000+ lb in the case of a semi) wrecking ball will absolutely crush them if we can't stop in time. Ever since my time driving a 10 ton potential bomb (flammable and non-flammable gases), I always let trucks in, let them over, let them pass, and generally get the hell out of their way, even if it means 10 bastards behind me have to slow down too.
CDL licenses are not forgiving on accidents, and I'll be damned if I'm going to cost a driver their job or God forbid their career just because I don't want to wait an extra 10 seconds. I try not to even merge in front of a truck unless there is at least a truck-and-trailer length or 2 minimum in front of them.

My driving portion consisted of a few stoplights, a couple stop signs, all right hand turns with the exception of one left hand turn, and never exceeding 35mph. I should have never been allowed on the road back then. If it was that easy for me, how easy was it for others? Were they easier before my time, after? So , if you have a dash cam its ok to try to murder someone if they make a mistake. Hmm. I drive a truck too and most of the people that do stuff like that don't realize what they're doing. I don't like it but, I will always try to avoid RUNNING OVER THEM when they make a mistake. The person driving the pink truck should be charged with attempted murder. I bet if that was someone in his family driving that car he would never have touched them. He had PLENTY of time to react, (if he or she wanted to) or (if he or she was paying attention). Ya'll be safe out there. Old Triple T here. We gone Bye Bye.

I would like to add this little bit of history, for all the people blaming the truck. The interstate system was built for interstate commerce, and war. So technicality, cars are being ALLOWED on the interstate. Also, that means, trucks shouldn't have any restrictions, like what lanes they can, or can't be in.

When I was a kid, we used to go watch the Red at Riverfront Stadium. Pete Rose, Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan, Dave Concepcion, Tony Perez...the dream team.
Anywho, back then they hosted a little thing called "Bat Day". All the kids got a miniature version of a Louisville Slugger with the team logo opposite the branding.
I still have mine, and I've been using it to thump my tires and the occasional noggin since 1988. Ash is durable and it has a distinctive sound when applied liberally to the human calvaria.

As a truck driver in this situation, I would have likely tapped my break and laid on the air horn. Now, to those of you that want to say “oh he probably didn’t see them” if he didn’t then it is absolutely his fault. In any situation like that you should be well aware of where any one is until they have fully merged into the lane you’re traveling in. This situation isn’t worth the issues that come with it to “teach that 4-wheeler a lesson”. Accept the fact that they are stupid and move on with your day.

After driving over 2000 miles on interstates cross country over the past four days, much respect to truckers. I'm the car driver who leaves room for you to get in the left lane if you need to, and I'll flash my lights to let you know I'm yielding. When the car behind me wouldn't let a semi merge at a construction zone i slowed down and let the semi in front of me. We all have to share the road and it only takes an extra few minutes to be courteous and always stay out of the blind spots of all drivers.
That red car driver not only didn't yield, they created an unsafe situation by deliberately trying to outrun the semi from the right without commiting to the overtake. It was almost leisurely. Dekalb County is a challenge for all drivers, but many don't even try.
A long time ago I had a CDL as a trailer jockey. Maybe that training helped. I never drove loads. It was usually a trailer exchange or pickup, in New Jersey. If you can drive in New Jersey you are a professional!
