Most of the features here is exactly what the Zenfone series is for. This phone looks like an Identity Crisis, like it doesn't know whether it's an ROG Phone or a Zenfone. Nobody who actually games on phones values this overall design.
Yeah everything about the phone is epic except the loss of the dual front firing speakers. That was the dumbest decision they made, they need to ignore the average, low life, haters who don't care about professional work or gaming on a phone and just hate on all high end tech they will never afford. And design the 9 as the ultimate media, professional and gaming phone. Simply put the dual front firing speakers back then it would be the true ultimate phone on the market. Also they need to keep developing the cameras to be the best on the market, if the phone can take the most life like images and video on the market whilst being the best in every other aspect. People with a brain will buy it as it will be the best phone on the market and have no faults or compromise. That is what the ROG Phone is meant to be, the ultimate mobile device not just a gaming phone. It would also be awesome if they could upgrade to a graphene thermal compound from their boron nitride compound, that would massively boost the thermal performance and overall performance and could be all it needs for overclocking and to hit the number 1 spot in all the benchmarks.
Dear Asus, don't forget your Target audience. Even if you try for flagship type of phones there are better brands for that like google pixel or iphone, please focus on gamers as you always had.
I think Gen 3 snapdragon can handle it. Based on iQOO 12 reviews, it runs pretty cool even on high stress. They bundled the cooler with the pro variant anyway.

Same here. Very disappointing! When I purchased the ROG Phone 7 that was one of the biggest selling points for me. Horrible pinhole design. I even chose ROG over Red Magic because their behind the screen phone is a HUGE no no for me.

I've been using Rog Phone generation 2 - 3 - 6 And I'm waiting for the 8th generation . . . Now I'll have to look for another brand. I hope that in the next generation There couldn't possibly be a design flaw like this, especially the holes on the screen are so bad.
Red magic is definitely better for gaming all around But no ip rating of any sort is bad and the software still needs improvements( asus software isn't that good either) So get a s24 ultra 😐👍

Camera bump and front camera cutout are the turn off. S25 Ultra is also rumored to still have them. I also hope Samsung will improve their game in design.

TBH, It is a let down in rog phones. Battery was reduced to 5500, punch hole camera just kills the purpose of phone. The rgb logo is placed at a really bad spot, it will never be visible. The phone evelved, but backwards

Dear ROG, Please for the ROG phone 9 Pro, add an IR blaster, and an "aqua-touch" display, as that would make sense with that ip68 rating in the phone. Lastly, please make the fingerprint sensor ultrasonic, with an overall improved structural design with better port placements. If these improvements are made, Rog phone 9 pro is sure going to be my next upgrade!
wow now the rog phone is an all around phone type. all users can now choose this smartphone as their daily driver. The previous rog phone was too gaming phone oriented. Everyone wants performance when playing games but with a design that isn't too tacky. rog phone is on the right path now.

This phone is a joke. I mean come on, this design is not what gamers are looking for. I have ROG Phone 6 Pro and I though I might replace it but definitely not with the ROG8. Please please please fix these triggers they're horrible have to really focus just to make sure I'm pushing on them correctly... Waited almost a month for my phone to be delivered just to be disappointed by the air triggers. Hate to say it Red magic destroyed y'all this year. You guys need to release a rog phone 9 ultra next year with a resolution of up to 2160p ,7000mah battery, bring back the front blasting speakers, hide the front camera behind the screen, bring back the color led back display, and bring back to touch triggers that made the rog 6&7 phone so great. Folks need to be able to ask "Can it run Crysis?" Never compromise, but Maximize!
Downgrading the battery from 6000mAh to 5500mAh in a gaming phone is the biggest deal breaker for me. Much better if they retain the previous battery capacity. Very disappointed!

Especially since phones now have hidden camera notch designs already implemented. I'd rather the front camera just be removed entirely on this phone if you can't figure out how to hide it. software support...... how many years......? how good is it....? i use rog 6, the battery seems fine in android 12. last more than a whole day on dynamic mode. upgrade to android 13...put it side by side with my realme 5i and to my surprise, rog 6 drain much more faster🙃

U know rog phone 7 have large bezel and rog phone 8 is bezelless just with one small hole right? Overall it's an upgrade. Red magic don have hole their front cam in under screen but many videos have complained that their front camera is very blur due to under screen.

i used rog phone 2 in the past, and now use rog 6. as a rog phone user, I'm very disappointed with the update design. the new design no longer supports mobile gamer where the Bezel needed so there is no miss touch, and no punch hole camera that distracting the screen. yes, it is impractical for many customers, but rog phone supposedly targets mobile gamer market, not all smartphone users. very disappointed.

It is true that the design is more sophisticated but that is the least of it, do you want colorful RGB or a mrd screen, or a powerful cell phone?, It's true that I don't know about the physical cooling, which is inside and believe me it improves for the better, The temperatures are let's say 2 degrees less in circumstances that require a lot of power, Like previous generations, seeing the integrated fan does not make it cool, we achieve this with the cooler and having the cell phone in beast mode.There's nothing to cry about, it's improved, it hasn't gotten worse at all. Cry somewhere else, fakes who with little lights already believe they are gamers. You don't know how to appreciate something good.The truth is that the audio is better, but if something is strange but the truth is it doesn't make any difference, believe me, in the end just buy some headphones because they have spatial audio.

I got this phone and it's so good. Also, many reviews don't show the case that comes with the phone. The case makes it look even better.

Please please please fix these triggers they're horrible have to really focus just to make sure I'm pushing on them correctly... Waited almost a month for my phone to be delivered just to be disappointed by the air triggers. This is my second rog phone, previously had the rog phone 6d which the triggers weren't as bad decided to give Asus another chance purchasing the rog phone 8 thinking by now they would be better but it turns out these triggers are worse such a shame it's such a beautiful phone with so much potential please Asus make this right and fix your mistakes. switched from the red magic 8 pro because I love the look of the Asus rog phone 8 please don't let us down if this doesn't get fixed I promise this will be my last purchase ever from Asus as a company I know what Asus is a capable of and I'm sure they can fix these bugs with the rog phone 8/8 pro please please please fix the triggers. And before you ask yes I have the latest update no my phone isn't dirty and no I don't even have a case on the phone because any case will cause the triggers to react even worse. for the prices of these phones not to not be working correctly especially the triggers which is the biggest gaming aspect of the phone is just uncalled forplease and thank you...

Hate to say it Red magic destroyed y'all this year. You guys need to release a rog phone 9 ultra next year with a resolution of up to 2160p ,7000mah battery, bring back the front blasting speakers, hide the front camera behind the screen, bring back the color led back display, and bring back to touch triggers that made the rog 6&7 phone so great. Folks need to be able to ask "Can it run Crysis?" Never compromise, but Maximize!

Downgrading the battery from 6000mAh to 5500mAh in a gaming phone is the biggest deal breaker for me. Much better if they retain the previous battery capacity. Very disappointed!

If it were any other phone I wouldn't mind so much but for this phone and the purpose it was built for that emineffin circle cutout just ruins it for me. What were you thinking Asus?!? Especially since phones now have hidden camera notch designs already implemented. I'd rather the front camera just be removed entirely on this phone if you can't figure out how to hide it.
I'm glad this phone came out tho because it's showing me which of the fake youtube reviewers are shills and don't know what the hell they're talking about when they praise this phone for gaming or avoid the cutout entirely.

software support...... how many years......? how good is it....? i use rog 6, the battery seems fine in android 12. last more than a whole day on dynamic mode. upgrade to android 13...put it side by side with my realme 5i and to my surprise, rog 6 drain much more faster🙃

Its sad it comes with a hole on the screen... Most rog user are gamers who already have a main phone... We choose rog because of gaming properties like shoulder trigger, large bezelless screen, large battery, superb front facing sound... But now it have a hole on the screen and seems like side speakers...
U know rog phone 7 have large bezel and rog phone 8 is bezelless just with one small hole right? Overall it's an upgrade. Red magic don have hole their front cam in under screen but many videos have complained that their front camera is very blur due to under screen.

i used rog phone 2 in the past, and now use rog 6. as a rog phone user, I'm very disappointed with the update design. the new design no longer supports mobile gamer where the Bezel needed so there is no miss touch, and no punch hole camera that distracting the screen. yes, it is impractical for many customers, but rog phone supposedly targets mobile gamer market, not all smartphone users. very disappointed.

You don't know how to appreciate something good.The truth is that the audio is better, but if something is strange but the truth is it doesn't make any difference, believe me, in the end just buy some headphones because they have spatial audio.
