Been there, done that, thousands of times. At 60 I still beat myself up, and although everything Dr. Lipton describes on how to deal with the "self deprecating", I still do it even though I know better. Over time, I've had great results...and nobody in the outside world gives a damn. Whatever good work you do on yourself, you do ONLY for yourself...but over all, it'll be worth it..not profitable ;)

This is so true! My mom is a single mother raising 3 kids alone i tried to stay away from the path but i end up a single mom too just like her because i was program to think that love is suffering! At 52, i find more value in friendship than a wife/spouce or even family. Also, work hard to find little things that bring you joy. Make yourself a toolkit of joy! A cigar, a walk, a tv series, anything. Keep yourself involved in an interest. Hobby or even as simple as learning about birds. I have had severe depression from this divorce process. It is over a year into this. I am learning to find happiness in new things and finding time to go back to do all the things i put aside to keep everyone else happy. Baby steps. Social media is your enimy fyi.

It’s really interesting the part where he is like I’m trying so hard and I’m frustrated because my programs don’t support my desires. I was abused as a child and my father was violent and unpredictable. I have no kids or married no girlfriend. It’s quite frustrating and have been in therapy for 18 years. Now I meditate and let go. I let go of finding love and just concentrate on my life and being happy. I do my best try to smile and be light instead of holding on to who I think I need to be.

Children are born with a silent knowing. I can remember back to when I was eighteen months old. I recall a recurrent dream vividly until the age of thirteen. My grandfather, a Muscogee Medicine man instilled a cultural spirit within me as a newborn. Until I started school, I astral traveled with a spirit guide remember looking down on my little body lying safely in bed while I played and giggled. He has this odd speaking style where he's constantly using "i say" You say" "I go", etc. at the beginning of sentences. He does this so much that sometimes he just mumbles it. He seems to love asking himself a question, "I say", and answering himself, "I go". I've experienced people that speak like this, but I think it's very rare. So, I made up a back story that the Dr. was once programmed by society to be poor, single, and unhappy, but he changed his programming by using forms of "I say" at the beginning of sentences, and he lived happily ever after.

At 60 I still beat myself up, and although everything Dr. Lipton describes on how to deal with the "self deprecating", I still do it even though I know better. Over time, I've had great results...and nobody in the outside world gives a damn. Whatever good work you do on yourself, you do ONLY for yourself...but over all, it'll be worth it..not profitable ;)

At 52, i find more value in friendship than a wife/spouce or even family. Also, work hard to find little things that bring you joy. Make yourself a toolkit of joy! A cigar, a walk, a tv series, anything. Keep yourself involved in an interest. Hobby or even as simple as learning about birds. I have had severe depression from this divorce process. It is over a year into this. I am learning to find happiness in new things and finding time to go back to do all the things i put aside to keep everyone else happy. Baby steps. Social media is your enimy fyi.
Most men dont want marriage anymore due to losing their assets.. sadly money trumps ll in this culture. Marriage rates are almost nonexistence now unless young and can want and afford a home and kids.. few can.

I was abused as a child and my father was violent and unpredictable.

It’s quite frustrating and have been in therapy for 18 years.
Now I meditate and let go.

Now I rather sit down with my thoughts, going into hermit mode for quite a few years, learn about meditation, journaling, thinking and prayer. I am now at peace with myself!

He has this odd speaking style where he's constantly using "i say" You say" "I go", etc. at the beginning of sentences. He does this so much that sometimes he just mumbles it. He seems to love asking himself a question, "I say", and answering himself, "I go". I've experienced people that speak like this, but I think it's very rare. So, I made up a back story that the Dr. was once programmed by society to be poor, single, and unhappy, but he changed his programming by using forms of "I say" at the beginning of sentences, and he lived happily ever after.

@@soundmind1705 It seems to me that my mind can only witness the miracle of my body and my spirit. The higher self and the body self work together to get things done without my minds help. My mind can only Think based on the results, but all my actions come from how my body feels because it knows better than my mind can think - but this only started happening once I connected my body to my higher spiritual self - leaving my mind out of the way of ideation and imagination - it just sits there and watch the ideas and feelings come and go - its only job is to focus on appreciating anything that feels good at each moment, and ignore the rest or to transmute the rest to their opposites so that what was once dark, can be part of the light - like the YING YANG sign
