For What Reasons! Oh, I’m so excited he played it. One of my all time favorites! Even if he didn’t see the story very clearly while writing it, he did an amazing job of painting a vivid picture with his lyrics, as always.
I’ve always wondered if it’s a true story for me from his life or if it’s just a cog in a machine of a concept album overall. IF the album is a concept album to begin with. I’ve never been straight on that
Oh man, this album takes me back to my college days at WWU in Bellingham, seeing you guys a couple times a year during this era in a half-full VU Multipurpose Room!! Thanks for being a consistently amazing musical influence over all these years, it's really cool to see you play this record in full.
I’m finding this over a month after it’s initial livestream, but I’m so happy you did this! I have listened to WHTF hundreds of times; it’s easily my all-time favorite! Thank you, Ben!
~i was reading the pavement in every word you would speak~ one of my favorite lyrics of all time. Listened to it nonstop when I first moved to Brooklyn. I definitely came across this album with the understanding (from who knows where) that it was a concept record and had imposed this story of an exboyfriend attending a New England wedding onto it. Over the years I started to realize how much that reading didn’t fit, but I still think of/am amused by that narrative whenever I listen to it all the way through. Hearing your stories was fascinating, as I have deep dived through lyric genius pages on this album multiple times. So good. Thanks again 🌲💚🌲
this is my fav album of all time and you played around my birthday four years ago. every year i could back to it around this time. your dc4c and tsp shows in albany and nyc were incredible btw!!
Ben ill always love death cab man. I dont have any questions for ya but i just want ya to know death cab has always been a destination when there is no destination in sight and i want to thank ya for literally every album you ever put out man. Got me through plenty of rough times. Ya know those timesthat cant beexplained or even worth mentioning. Love ya dude. P.s i need a haircut too.
Learning that about Little Fury Bugs made me appreciate it more. It was one of the first songs I got back in the day off Limewire after I searched "DeathCab"
It’s interesting to me how much more complicated these song seem to play than more recent stuff. These are my jams for sure, but you sure seem to have found a simplicity as you have matured that suits you. And your lyrics have always been top notch. No criticisms here. Just liking what you do. Keep on keeping on!
Dont know if you guys cares but if you're bored like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all of the latest movies and series on kaldrostream. Been watching with my brother these days =)
We’re listening to your live from Tokyo japan. Thank you for your live at home. We in japan are having good moment with your voice and guitar:)! See you !
LOVE THIS!!! Thank you so much for playing this! Ky first album from you guys and one of my favorites. I don't think a lot of people know of this album. So excellent thank you for doing this Ben! Stay Safe! You rock and are my favorite band, although I wasn't a fan of your latest album but I know all bands grow and change over time. Narrow Stairs was my favorite. Thank you!
Just watched this for the 3rd time, its just so good. long time fan back to when this album came out. I will admit that post Walla i checked out. I have been listening to the newer stuff some since you have been doing this its good, but i still hear these and think how wonderful, they are so musical and original. I get that things need to sometimes be more mainstream but there is something so authentic about this album and the photo album. We all really appreciate you doing these. And I hope you will think about doing the whole first 4 albums this way. I know i would certainly buy a reissue with these thrown on a bonus disc.
This is the best one...and that’s saying something. Youth is purity. All of the other are are mind blowing as well, but this is my family’s fall album and holds a special, multi-generational, spot for us.
"Dude was clowning me about my hair-- look, I get it" LMAO gotta love him for keeping it real but that was such a 180 from the tender mood of the song 😭😭😭
I don't know. I agree with you about the process of making music. I just also know I gravitate towards the stuff that is written in a state of peril a little more than just everything else cause while I obviously enjoy it for what it is, it's the other that makes you human in my eyes. You're no longer just an entertainer. It's easy for us to forget that sometimes, but it's in those moments that something beautiful truly shows. You let down a wall. You showed us your soul. Some of you have very beautiful souls. In my opinion, of course...
as somebody who spent their sophomore year of college getting their heart broken while failing their classes hardcore, this is certainly a concept record. that being said, everyone’s interpretation is different
Dcfc was my first concert. It was 2006, I was 16, and you played at UC Irvine and Jennie Lewis and the Watson twins opened. You opened with 405 and it was perfect.
Brothers on a hotel bus. Unless I missed it somewhere. It’s in my top 5 favorite songs ever. Like songs you could die to if given the option....I just really love music. I dunno maybe that’s morbid haha
Too “forced” and cringey on the vocals, IMO. Love your inventiveness. Similar to McCartney and Lennon, I believe there is no death cab without Gibbard/Walla, as both duos are unique, talented, and perfectly complement each other. ❤️
it's hard for me to hate on this guy, the fact that he's playing these songs at all when most bands of their caliber completely forget about older records is commendable to me. And imo it's nice to hear these songs with years of retrospect with an acoustic

My favorite Death Cab album. 💜
For What Reasons! Oh, I’m so excited he played it. One of my all time favorites! Even if he didn’t see the story very clearly while writing it, he did an amazing job of painting a vivid picture with his lyrics, as always.
Agreed! It's literally the one song that singlehandedly got me hooked to DCFC for life
Company Calls Epilogue is one his best songs. Amazing lyrics, so glad he played it.

God knows how much I love this album. This collection of songs have really meant a lot to me. Thank you Benny.

It's awesome to hear the stories behind the songs. I love that!
Easily my favorite Death Cab album. This is absolutely epic without even trying.
16 years ago someone shared with me the gift of Death Cab's music. If my soul had a soundtrack, it'd be this album. Thank you for this Ben.

Beautiful. My favorite so far! It keeps getting better. You are a constant force for peace in these uncertain times.
These acoustic home sessions have been a great way to introduce my kids to death cab. Love it
I never realized how difficult company calls is to play. Such cool songwriting using unusual variations of chords
this is my fav album of all time and you played around my birthday four years ago. every year i could back to it around this time.
your dc4c and tsp shows in albany and nyc were incredible btw!!
He said For what Reason was goofy I freakin loved it

I ❤ For What Reason! I am so happy I got to see you live back in 2005
Realizing how much I love this album hearing it in full acoustic!

Amazing...just what I need right now.
I's love a show where you tell the story behind some of your songs! I know we all interpret them all differently based on our own life experiences
I don't know. I agree with you about the process of making music. I would have died in Olympia WA around 2012 if this album didn’t exist
someone asked me if i could find a silver lining to this pandemic. i could. it’s this.
Thanks for still doing this!

I think its more with how he is getting older and he recorded this album when he was younger
it's hard for me to hate on this guy, the fact that he's playing these songs at all when most bands of their caliber completely forget about older records is commendable to me. And imo it's nice to hear these songs with years of retrospect with an acoustic
