If this is just one breath run, she were there like +2 mins under the water while running? I mean, anybody with practice can last 2 mins, but running? Woah
Holding your breath for 2 minutes while standing still isn’t too hard. But she is exerting herself by ocean hiking. The video is cut in multiple shots because they did this in multiple takes. Even if she could hold her breath for 2 minutes while do all that physical activity it would actually take longer then 2 minutes to come back up to shore as seen in the video, they cut a good amount out for it to be a shorter video.
Thank you for all the views and comments! I'll try and answer the most frequently asked questions here. The video is set in Dominica, we shot it over the course of about 2 hours, we did many many freedives to get all the shots. The deepest dive was about 60 feet or 18 meters, all done on breath hold, both Sofia and me (the camera man). We had a safety freediver on the surface in case something went wrong. I think we could have done it in one take, but i wanted to have several angles. Some sections i wanted to film from above, some from in front of Sofia, some from behind. Most people disagree and want it in a single take - maybe next time we'll try that! And yes, we started out with a different rock: we lost it after a few takes, it fell and we couldn't find it amongst the other rocks. As for the environment, there were fish about but soon as we started running they scampered! It's fairly lively there, and we were careful not to touch the corals and the anenomes. Most people also don't like the music - i picked a rock tune because of the 'rock' nature of the video, and Sofia happens to really like rock music. Not to everyone's taste, i know, but i still quite like it, and so does Sofe, so that's how the tune got in. If you want something more mellow with Sofia, check out the mermaid video we made, also on this channel!
Excellent explanation, thank you! Not that this will shut up the cries of all the emasculated man-children of RUclips that shrink in the shade of a kick-ass woman... but with this we can safely ignore them. :)
Amazing job, thanks for posting this. well deserved multi million views. I love free diving and when I see this it puts a smile in my face. btw, Sofia rocks at many levels, hat's off.
For me it is easier when doing physical activity. When I hold my breath while steady, I struggle a lot with a "reflex" on my lungs that ask me to breath again and I end up with my abs and ribs exhausted. Whereas when Im doing physical activity at certain point my lungs become relaxed and I can last a A LOT longer. When I was younger I could swim an olympic pool back and forth while holding my breath with breaststroke technique (crawl for me demanded too much oxigen) and I could barely last 2minutes while staying still.
@@chettonex I can relate. I can forget about breath-take sometimes if I close my eyes in a pool and just swim than if I had my eyes open and swimming. It feels more tense.
I ran like this when I was trying to get my engineering degree. After that, I dreamt I ran so fast I was hopping over walls and making huge leaps like the hulk. Never had a running dream ever again.
2 minute video, easy to do but she was burning a lot of oxygen with the exercise. Likely making it 4 minutes of breath holding. Pretty good but not uncommon.

If this is just one breath run, she were there like +2 mins under the water while running? I mean, anybody with practice can last 2 mins, but running? Woah
And holding a rock...
It's multiple shots, you can even see her own footprints.
@@ByKareem Idk, in her instagram she says she has a world record holder diving
@@ZayxSt The more you exert yourself the more oxygen you need, so you'd essentially be cutting down the time you can be under water by quite a lot.
No way I'm going down that cliff into the dark water, my heart was pounding

Of COURSE it's done in several takes. Just look at the breaks, the camera angles, etc. Jeez everyone's so gullible here.
@@numbereighty7 She's a world record holding freediver....its legit. Having a nicely shot and edited video doesn't make it fake...
@@numbereighty7 But but but its true. I seen it on TV. So it MUST be true

What's the name of your pet rock?
She is quite an amazing athlete. May all her days be blessed with health and safety.
Beautiful video. Perfect colors and lighting and subject too of course.
Thank you very much!
Damn, she can hold her breath..
There is a lot of difference than just holding your breath and holding your breath while doing physical activity..
Relaxed, I can hold my breath for 2 minutes (even more when I was younger). Carrying a rock underwater, I would not last 20 seconds.
Your right sitting down editing to see which slide would look good. 🍩

2. it's a fake. we cannot have done this as there are clearly several different stones used.
3. it's a fake. obviously the cameraman (me) gave her oxygen between takes.
4. oxygen can be stored by the liver.
